I have been an Afdent patient since 2004. I have bought 3 sets of dentures from Afdent. Three! On my most recent visit, I explained how my top denture got (lost) mysteriously. So, I am stuck wearing a back up denture set that I am NOT happy with. I thought just "maybe" I could get a discount on a top denture, or they could fix my back up dentures to look more like my own teeth. I was wrong. Afdent still wanted to charge me the full price (1,700) for an upper denture, and 380.00 for the lower to be relined. I have spent nearly 11,000 dollars with Afdent over the years. I though Afdent just "may" offer me a better deal. I WAS WRONG. They are totally in it for the money. A competitor of theirs offers a 5 year warranty on their dentures, and will fix or reline a denture, for no charge within that time frame! I am no longer working full time. I am a retired senior citizen, living on Social Security. I cannot afford the payments they offered me. I am not happy with Afdent, and will probably not return there in the future. read more

They will fix what they mess up. That's more than you get with some places. They seem to be geared toward the cosmetic dentistry. They tried to put a "facial" on one of my front teeth to make it look big and fancy and shiney and what not. But, it broke within two weeks. They then tried to up-sell me on a crown. Sure, maybe I'll need one someday, but it makes me wonder if this is their gimmick to sell a bunch of expensive dental work (which by the way, they'll finance for you at 12% interest). read more

I have been to Afdent before for an extraction and it went fine. Since that was ok, I decided to go there to get 19 teeth extracted and dentures put in all in the same day. Things seemed ok, and everyone was very nice. The finance man, although he did give us financing, (with a ridiculous interest rate due to our bad credit and low income), was very haughty and tried to humiliate us with his snide little remarks, was NOT so nice. He was quite obnoxious actually, Anyway, they were paid for what they DID do, however the job was not done properly. They left a wisdom tooth in and I was not informed of this. I was told that they were not sure if they would remove it or not, since it was too close to some nerves that could paralyze my face if treated wrong. That was on the first visit and the last I heard of that tooth. No one told me it was still there. I started having problems with pain in the right lower jaw and there was a hole where I could see white and even click my top denture on this 'hole' and it made a sound like a tooth would if you click your teeth together. I mentioned it every time I went for an adjustment of the dentures due to healing. They never did an X-ray and just said it was probably bone that would work it's way out. These were the girls that would adjust and grind my dentures to fit. Finally after about 6 or 8 visits, I said I needed to see the dentist because something wasn't right, The 'adjustment' I had just before that was pretty crazy. She ground part of the last tooth of the bottom right denture completely off and when I tried to take the denture to show here exactly what was causing problems, she completely refused to let me show her. When I saw the dentist, the nurse did an x-ray and they seemed SURPRISED to see a wisdom tooth where the 'hole' was that was causing all of the pain. It was impacted and I had to go to a different oral surgeon to have it removed. I was flabbergasted at what was going on. They said these were my 'forever dentures'. Since the girl had ground away so much, they were going to remove the soft lining that I still had and remake the bottom denture, THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME JUST THE COST OF A LINING! I could not believe they would even consider charging anything!! I didn't make such a mess of these dentures!!! THEY DID!!! I stopped paying them at this time, and let me just say,THEY OVERCHARGED FOR WHAT THEY DID ANYWAY! I have found that out as I shopped for other places that do dentures. I was quoted over $4,000 + interest which went over $6,000! The places I went to after this were only charging me $850 to $1500!!! I felt so taken advantage of!!! They are thieves!!! I stopped paying after they received around $3000 dollars from me and insurance! Now they are threatening to sue me!!! We make only $12,000 per year, due to me being disabled from arthritis and spine problems. I overpaid as far as I'm concerned. My mouth did heal well after all the extractions that they DID do. I will give them that. The dentures however have been appalling to several other dentists and I cannot believe how violated I feel by this huge business. They have all of their fancy equipment, TV's in the exam rooms, computer room to use while you wait, (which just tells me they run behind a lot), and the beautiful buildings are impressive! Maybe some of that money should have been put into better training for their assistants, and others who run around grinding dentures down. Also, maybe an updated way of doing dentures so that your 'forever' teeth aren't the ones you start off in, heal in, and wear as the entire shape of your mouth changes. All other dentists use these as temporaries. Maybe that should be considered as well. I wasn't about to let the people who messed my mouth up so badly, and had given me a terrible experience with something I was already terrified to have to do, try to 'make it right'. They wanted to charge me MORE MONEY to 'make it right'. Therefore that is NOT MAKING IT RIGHT!!! It is making it WAY WORSE!!! PLEASE... PLEASE...PLEASE... Do NOT go here for Dentures if you want a normal experience. I would guess this is NOT there expertise. So very disappointed... Not much goes right in my life, and this was just another example of the type of thing that happens to people like me. I live a moral life, I'm a clean, kind, and reasonable woman. I didn't deserve this. I haven't alot of money, or education, but I'm not a stupid woman. I'm not ignorant. I know this was not right or fair. I didn't lose my teeth due to poor hygiene. It was a familial issue that also struck my father at the same age as I am now. I took great care of my teeth and they were one good thing I had going for me. Now they are gone and I have moved on to have them redone. At least, after the pain is gone from the wisdom tooth I had oral surgery on 3 days ago, I REALLY WON'T have to have another tooth pulled again. (As I thought once before Feb 2015). read more

Mr R. I came to you many years ago. Dr Feldman whom I loved was not able to save tooth number 10 or 11. Not sure now. It was pretty much the end of the year. I had and still have my great dental insurance. Unfortunately my FSA account was already drained. I came to you so we can make a plan for January when my insurance would pay more and my FSA account could be used. YOU sir felt bad for me and ask me to put a "flipper" in after pulling the tooth because it always got infected. After me explaining to you why I have to wait you said:" We will just put it in the package when you get everything else done. Don't worry. I don't want you to be in pain." Well Mr P let me tell you I should have been worried. I talked to a nice lady called Helen numerous times and explained. NOTHING. The Judge was nice until YOUR Attorney said you would never have said it because that would be insurance fraud. Case closed. 10 years ago? I still have not paid but I got all the work done you wanted me to do. I had a dental emergency over the holidays and my regular dentist office was closed. I went to afdent emergency care and was treated with the upmost respect and kindness. I was in severe pain and they gave me ice packs and ibuprofen to hold me over until I could be seen. It took about two hours to get in which is expected since I didn't have an appointment. Once I was seen by the Dentist he quickly determined I needed a root canal. Every person involved in my care from start to finish was nothing but professional kind and considerate. My son is six and had to have a tooth pulled and after his shots he was crying pretty bad and scared. I was told if he didn't calm down after ten minutes we'd have to leave and come back another time after he was already numb. So I felt a lot of pressure to get him to settle down or put him through even more pain again. Eventually the tech asked me if I wanted them to do just do it because she could tell the dentist was giving up. So they held him down and got it out. I cried in the corner and felt horrible. So when we went back for our cleaning and the dentist saw us you could see by her face she was like oh great this kid again. She wasn't very good at hiding her emotions but expected my six year old to. Maybe if was my mistake not taking him to a peds only dentist but after I was treated so we'll I thought they must do great with him. Did work that I didn't authorize and then tried to bill me for it when my insurance denied it. After 8 months of arguing with them I finally hired a lawyer. Afdent agreed to refund some money due to me and send me a 0 balance invoice but after 2 weeks I haven't seen either of those. read more

I made an appointment two months ago for 11am I show up at 10:45 am. My appointment card stated 11am on it. Show up and they said now it was for noon. Waited for for an hour for my turn. Still no one comes out. 30 minutes later still waiting. Finally they call up and tell me it will still be another 20 minutes. Waited for 2 hours. Finally just told them to cancel and I left. Only come here if you can spend your whole day waiting. This place needs to learn if you make an appointment, you must keep it. read more

I had teeth removed and was given immediate dentures while my gums healed enough to support implants. 6 months into this ordeal my dentures are not straight. They fit so bad they rubbed my gum and made a painful bump probably a calcium deposit from the denture in contact with by bone. They were made in a very careless attitude by the way they look. Bottom ones are so distorted they are at least an inch and a half off to one side and make them almost worthless. They pop out anytime I try to eat. Yes I use adhesive. They cut the bottom part off to lessen the pain and discomfort and that's why they wont stay on my gums as they have no support from the bottom part of the denture that was cut away. After a liner was put in it did the same thing although it helped keep them in place. It was very panful to remove and then put them back in as the denture rubs my gums and makes it sore as hell. After complaining multiple times they tell me they will stand behind them and make me a new pair. Twice I have been back and was told I need to wait another 6 months at least to get the final permanent dentures made. No way dude. These things are junk they are distorted and are not symmetrical to my gums and will not stay in place while I eat and make me have pain. The dentist told me no, he wont make new ones. SO to let everyone know, They will take your money, give you a bad denture and refuse to stand behind it and make excuses as to why you have a problem. One of the staff I told about how bad the dentures where asked me if I had seen my gums ? Yeah mutha-er I saw my gums did you see your product ? Enough of this abuse and garbage. I will now go to a new dentist that will do good work and give me a product they will be proud of. Not a twisted mess that does not fit and causes pain. Never ever go to them for dentures ever.
