The technicians are only wearing masks, no face shields while working on patience teeth which is not safe for them. We turned right around and left. My daughter only has a few more months of treatment, but I will never trust Hacken with her care! I'd pay anything to avoid that Covid pit! And there are at least dentists in South Bend that do care about their patience and staff. For instance, Granger Family Dentistry has their staff not only masked but with face shields and full hazmat suits. You have to call from your car upon arrival and they escort you in without seeing other patience or many staff right to the doctor. Very safe. Very professional. Very respectful. I made the decision which was both time consuming and financially impactful to switch Orthodontists 6 months into treatment with the other said office (the investment financially would not be refunded, as well as time being that their office is very close to me and Dr. Thomas is a 20 min drive each way). Even my first consult with Dr. Thomas made me feel at ease with his office. He was both kind and empathetic to the situation I was coming from. I had a long road ahead and seeing the difference from office to office I now know what great hands I am in. We removed the braces from the previous office, allowed my teeth to stabilize and then started completely over. Dr. Thomas takes his time and really puts all that he has into his patients and ensuring their smile and end goals are clear and articulated in a way that I could understand. Now, being well into my treatment with this office I couldn't recommend them more.
