The office got the driver to move the car, but he was arrogant and unapologetic, claiming that he was entitled to block us because he couldn't find any other parking (a total lie -- there's a free lot less than 1/4 mile up the street and a park-and-ride half a mile in the other direction). I expect with his attitude, this wasn't the first time, and won't be the last, that he imprisons people with his arrogance and complete disregard for anyone else.

Brian was contracted to repair an exterior leak from the roof of my 1964, 2000 sq. ft. Rambler in two separate locations. After a very shoddy attempt at repairing the N side of my roof, (which still leaks) Brian and his crew instead of cutting the fascia board (covering the integrated gutters) at the appropriate angle so that the corner of the west side of the fascia board comes into contact evenly with the north side fascia, they made a straight cut leaving a 2 1/2 " gap between the boards, (Unprofessional). I will send pictures of his work to anyone who requests them. When I shared my disappointment in Brian's work, he promised to come over the next day, stating that "you have my word, I'll be there tomorrow". It's been 11 days and no Brian or any other member of B&M Construction, (Unreliable/Untrustworthy). I made the mistake of paying Brian half of the money to begin the project, due to the fact that I had to leave town for seven days to tend to a family emergency, and I wanted to get the work done before the rain set in. I left strict instructions with my cousin on what needed to be done and what was agreed upon. Brian ran off with my down payment after what any reasonable person would deem was a subpar attempt to repair the leak on the N. side (which, as I stated earlier still leaks) and no work done on the S. side of the roof. Money doesn't grow on trees, and neither does Honesty, Integrity, Dependability or Professionalism. Brian has not finished the job or refunded my down payment. I will explore avenues to get the job done right and/or get my money back, but just to give you one last bit of insight into Mr. Treece's mentality and lack of foresight and attention to protecting and growing his business. Mr. Treece upon the initial inspection for the estimate, noted that my repair was a stopgap roof repair (which I was totally aware of) and that I would need to replace the roof within the next 3 to 4 years, costing well over $10,000. Brian Treece, failed to take care of B&M Construction and lacked the business sense to act in his own best interest in trying to secure bigger, more lucrative deals for himself and his company, so how can you expect that he would act in YOUR best interest. I didn't ask for anything more than he promised. In the end, he just needed to do what he said he was going to do, (Undependable). This is not meant to be a personal attack based purely on emotion. I wanted to point out the shortcomings that I observed. Shortcomings that have lead to subpar, unprofessional work and poor work ethic, ultimately resulting in horrendous customer service and zero customer satisfaction. There are far too many shady contractors out there! A lot of contractors seem more interested in making money than actually looking out for their customers. Here's a perfect example: I run property management for rental homes in Washington, and one of my client's properties is in DuPont. The neighbor recently paid over $9,000 for a full roof replacement, with all kinds of "discounts." The roofing company convinced the owner that their roof was in terrible condition. The neighbor even told me that the contractor claimed my client's roof was in the same bad shape, with a quarter of the shingles supposedly missing. They even put a big yard sign in between the houses! I told the homeowner what the neighbor said, but I also advised them not to rush into anything until I had a chance to inspect it myself. Now, I hadn't flown my drone in over six months, and during a test flight, a strong gust of wind blew it away. Thankfully, I have a 35-foot carbon fiber pole with an HD camera for situations like this. After inspecting the roof, I found that only four shingles were missing - the rest of the roof was in excellent shape with many years of life left. I reached out to several roofing companies for a repair quote, sending them photos of the missing shingles. They all wanted to charge nearly $2,300 just to replace those four to six shingles! Their excuse? The cost of bringing out "equipment" and "insurance." I guess they must be smoking a lot of weed in their offices to come up with those prices. After relaying this to my client, I contacted Veterans Roofing, who I've worked with before and trust. They came out, confirmed five shingles were missing, and found some poor workmanship from the original builder. Not only did they replace the shingles, but they also corrected and repaired the areas where the original company had cut corners.
