Asked the gentleman to cut to Medico keys. He proceeded to do so. After three trips between my home and the locksmith, I gave up. The two keys he cut never got close to unlocking my front door. After the 3rd attempt, he insinuated that it was not possible without the "card" for the key. By this point I had enough. Return to the store for a 4th time? No. Ask for a refund? To go through the headache and hassle and possible argument? No thank you. 1 star for effort. 2nd star for not being rude. read more

Needed both my apt door locks changed in a hurry. Called Aero and they said they could be there in 2 hours (and that's because I needed time to get home lol). Nick was informative, efficient, personable, and pretty much just awesome and knew what he was doing. 0 issues. Tell me how swapping BOTH locks, one a high-security deadbolt, came out to under $200. Absolutely the best pricing out of all the other locksmiths I reached out to by a LANDSLIDE. And now I know exactly where I can go to get additional keys made for the high-security lock, cause lemme tell you, it was a hassle for my last one. I could tell right away, on the phone, that these guys were solid, professional, good people. (In the same way, way that I could tell Artie's was in business to make some quick money.) They offered prices right up front ($125 standard cylinder, $140 high-security, $190 even higher security) and sent someone who got here within a half an hour. The technician was awesome, and I trusted him right away. he explained each thing that he was doing. He discovered stripped screw threads in the lock (I had done this when I installed the previous cylinder). He said a new lock would be alot $, so he used a threading machine to re-do the threads. He put in a new high-security cylinder, and I asked him to put new doorknobs, and to put a security bar on the doorframe to finish it off. I couldn't believe all the hardware, installation and education I received for $220, so I insisted on giving him a tip. I recommend Aero Locksmith in all respects! read more

Most of the time you need a locksmith when it's urgent maybe to celebrate a new place or you are in despair because you got locked out or are changing the locks after a breakup. These guys are the friendliest and the best in the neighborhood. After my apartment was flooded after Ida, I moved to a different apartment and needed a new lock installed. My building had Nick come over to install for me. He was quick at installing the new lock and also hammered an existing door panel back into place so my door closed more smoothly. I was so happy with the service and also the positive attitude. It helped so much during a difficult time and gave me one less thing to worry about. I also went into the shop to have difficult keys copied and Mike helped me out. Also super friendly. I had keys copied at another locksmith that didn't work even with a jiggle, and was so happy that Aero got it right the first time. Go here next time you need keys copied or a lock change. I had to get 2 keys made for 2 different locks., As it turns out both keys had some unique qualities that made it a challenge to duplicate. They explained why these keys were do unique and having gone there many time over the years without problems, I accepted their explanation. When I got home neither key worked. I went back the following week and had the one lock with me. The other key was to a door so I could not bring it. Without hesitation the tech went to work on the keys and had to do some grinding to get the lock key to work, flawlessly. He re-cut the other key and told me to try again. He didn't charge for the re-cut keys. When I got home the other key worked without any issue. I appreciate that they took on the challenge of these keys knowing that they might have to recut the keys. I am glad that they stood behind their work. Real straight up guys. read more

Nick did an excellent job on replacing my lock(s). He arrived promptly and addressed the problem right away. My bottom lock was completely shot and needed to be replaced. He replaced the bottom lock. He also saw that my failed attempt to put the deadbolt on was not complete. He went above and beyond and offered to finish the top lock installation with no extra charge! He also filed my keys to fit the top lock bc the plate was not aligning right. I highly recommend this company and Nick for any service needed on your locks. I had a great experience. These guys are outstanding. I am trying to write reviews for the local businesses where I live on the Upper Eastside and forget to write a review for Aero. Years ago I lost the keys to the dead bolt lock in my apartment, that and the fact that the lock was very old and would not work convinced me to finally call a locksmith. So I walked in to Aero's shop on 86th and First to make an appointment, as luck would have it, they had a locksmith available right then to install the dead bolt. They replaced the dead bolt and the strike plate and adjusted my bottom lock and now everything works perfectly, no need to slam the door to make it shut. The dead bolt lock I bought from them is well made and solid and cost less than if I had bought in Home Depot. You can trust these guys. Good work at a good price. read more
