Golden Valley Health Center will not know if Pfizer or Moderna available until day of injection for COVID 19. Golden Valley put me on a waiting list and never dispensed vaccination. Lack of communication is why I left Dignity years ago but in other ways Golden Valley has its issues too. Dignity has a supply of Moderna vaccine and was able to provide me first dose. Per Stat News: https://www.statnews.com/2021/02/02/comparing-the-covid-19-vaccines-developed-by-pfizer-moderna-and-johnson-johnson/ Each dose of Pfizer's contains 30 micrograms of vaccine. I was there in early April and had an appointment with a female doctor that hat such a heavy accent, I could hardly understand her. She had a Male in the room instructing her. She asked me to take a blood test and urine test. I had to come back the next day because the lab was closed. Even then, it took me way over a week to get the results, and they gave me some antibiotics. So I go back in Saturday and see a different female doctor. At checkin the assistant asks if I need any refills on my medications. I tell her yes that they all probably need to be refilled and ask her to have the refills sent to Express Scripts. Today I get a bunch of mail from Express Scripts telling me that my prescriptions cannot be billed because they do not have a doctors authorization. I called AMG 2 1/2 hours ago and asked how that could happen. They said they would call back, I'm still waiting. I am reading about people with long wait times, my longest wait time was 5 1/2 hours. They have gotten much better recently, maybe 10 minutes.

I am from NY and have been visiting my son's family for the past seven weeks, helping my daughter in law recover from brain surgery. I got a chiropractor visit scheduled to relieve acute pain I was experiencing that day due to four previous spine surgeries and a knee replacement. I was not familiar with the Chiropractor's location and was following GPS. The GPS indicated I should park in front of the 850 W Olive Avenue building. There was a sign that said community health center parking and another which said Doctor parking only. I am a doctor, though not employed by Community Health. These were the only two parking spots available in the whole lot. I parked and walked around the building, but could not find the office. I went to the adjacent building and walked around that entire building before finding the Chiropractor's office. I went in for my appointment at about 2:20 pm and came out at about 3:15 pm. I could not locate my vehicle. After I walked around for five or 10 minutes, I called my daughter-in-law to let her know that I could not locate the car. At that point two employees came out and asked if they could help me. I told them I couldn't find my vehicle and they asked if it was a Nissan. They informed me that it had been towed just moments ago. I was in shock. They could not tell me where my car had been towed or by whom. Dr. Tihar Yaqub then came out the side door yelling at me for parking, apparently in what he considered his personal spot. In fact, while I was in my doctor appointment his employees reported he has come out and wrote CHCA MEDICAL DIRECTOR in permanent marker on the parking sign. The office workers told the doctor that he had defaced the sign and put graffiti on it. He became more irate. He made a derogatory remark about women and was yelling at these women and me screaming repeatedly: "Can you read? Can you read? Can you read?" I finally replied, "I can read. I did not know the offices and parked there in error." He continued to berate me in front of the employees stating, "It is for doctors only!" I told him, "I am a doctor." That incensed him more. I asked him where my car was and who took it. He refused to tell me and went inside. He came back outside and told me to call the police that I deserved to be towed. My daughter-in-law called the police and they knew nothing about it. His office workers finally came back out and gave me the phone number for the tow company. Dr. Yaqub had called the tow company directly and never called the Merced PD. He knew this when he told me to call the police. I had a family member come to pick me up and take me to the tow yard. It was a $310 senseless tow!!! When I got there, the receipt showed he called the tow company at 2:22 pm ... just minutes after I parked. He didn't attempt to find the owner or wait a reasonable amount of time before towing. The office workers reported to me they tried desperately to get him to not tow but he was irate and insisted that he was right. They told him it was wrong to do and he didn't care. I still cannot believe the Medical Director of this practice would treat a member of the public and potential patient the way he had. His prejudices against women, his unprofessional demeanor and hostile behavior were unacceptable and so poorly represent the Community Health Center. I would imagine his board of directors would have been aghast at his aggressive and unprofessional conduct. This behavior is not befitting of someone with his level of responsibility. What an awful example for the employees who are forced to work with someone who lacks compassion and is as uncaring as Dr. Yaqub. He should be removed from this position. In my opinion, anyone who is a patient of his should be on notice that he is unstable and not fit to practice medicine. This was so disappointing and was so contrary to my experience of the Merced community up until this point.

Every year I would receive a notice from the new doctor to come in for a Medicare Wellness test, conducted by a nurse. I was fortunate and had no immediate need for an illness until a few months ago. I called when I was having serious trouble breathing, had a high temp and was coughing up something ugly. I was told the doctor was busy and couldn't see me for over a week to go to an urgent care facility. I did but the urgent care PA said that there was a cough going around and to take some cough medicine, which I did. A few days later I was dramatically worse and went to the ER where my double (bilateral) pneumonia was diagnosed. I was given inhalation therapy along with anti-biotics by the ER after a chest scan and blood work. When I was discharged I was instructed to get back to my primary care physician immediately. I called MFA for an appointment, explained my situation and was told my doctor was out for a number of days. I asked to be seen by another MFA physician and was told that wasn't going to happen. I asked the purpose of an "Association" of physicians if one didn't cover for another and was just blown off. The hospital ER staff called me and wanted to know if I had followed up with my Primary doctor and not to wait any further. My wife called her doctor (a solo practice physician) and I was seen there immediately as he stayed after his normal hours to fit me in. I explained this to MFA via the patient portal and MFA blocked my future access to my past medical records there via my portal. Probably the best thing that could happen, I now have a physician that places my health as a priority.

I accidentally scheduled my blood test here instead of the planned parenthood in modesto, but I…read moredecided to go here anyway. The ladies were nice, but incredibly unorganized. I couldn't tell if they were understaffed, slow, or just didn't know what they were doing. When they went to draw blood, it seemed like they were having difficulties. i'm normally a hard poke, but they ended up sticking me four times before they could collect a decent amount of blood. And before that, they had tried squeezing blood out of where they poked me and scraping it into the vial. It was not a good experience. And it only got worse, because somehow my blood sample was lost or misplaced and I had to go back in to give another sample. The second time they also had difficulty sticking me, but they were able to get the sample. What drove me to make this review was that I got my test results back, and they were wrong. They had used the wrong reference levels to compare my results to, and now the result shows that one of my hormones is too high, despite it being low for the correct range. When I go for testing, I expect professionalism and accuracy, neither of which I got. So I will not be going back to merced planned parenthood again.
