Good for replacement mechanics, but not happy with follow up on what I think is warranty work, which is why I am giving them 3 stars. Asked them to fix bad squeak in rear brakes they replaced for me about six months ago. They told me brakes were fine, but did not attempt to fix squeak, as it is worst than ever. I am not a mechanic, but know brakes should not squeak like they are doing. Pain just to take car back in and demand repair, which is probably just switching out pass that are warranties for life of ownership of car. They should of fixed problem two weeks ago when they had the car in their shop for three days. Disappointed at what was my go to shop. read more

I went in for oil change, brake exam, and air conditioner recharge. I also wanted a tune up on my 20 yr old vehicle. The initial quote was $3300.00, then it came down to $1200. When I pressed the matter of coupons, Courtney made a big deal about how she never does this but will accept coupons after the fact, which brought cost down to $560.00. Once home, I noticed that the door lock was broken off, there was a chemical stain on newly waxed car, and I had the feeling that I was ripped off. And I never did get the tune up. I used to take my vehicles here in the past and the old management and crew were the best but in recent days I've been taking mine and my wife's cars here and the experience has been horrible for me and my eight month pregnant wife. Zach the manager and one of the technicians were disrespectful and rude to my wife. I'm pretty sure everybody gets treated like that because I overheard him talking to a few customers over the phone very rudely and another customer that was in the lobby as well. I have been here quite a few times and have overheard them talking to customers in a disrespectful manner. Not only is their customer service bad but there mechanical skills suck as well. Took my wife's car in for a water pump change and was charged 1150 dollars. Not only was I overcharged but they replaced parts that didn't even need replacing and charged me for it without my permission. On top of all this headache and horrible experience my wife's car was damaged. There were scratches all over the front end of my wife's car, oil stains, and spilled antifreeze all over my engine compartment and didn't even try to clean it up. I suggest that anyone looking to get their car repaired do not come to this place because they will rip you, treat you like crap, and talk to you like your stupid. read more

I gave it 2 stars because the office staff was nice to begin with. But , isn't that always the case until the customer has an issue with their service? I probably should preface this by stating that, unfortunately, as a 1. woman, and 2. a senior, I was probably scr'd from the second I walked in. I got the preferred service oil change and to cut to the chase, all the liquids were not topped off ie. the coolant, and oil. Although I had to pay for 6 qts. of oil, after my checking the oil after the service, I wound up about 2 short. When I went back and showed them, I was told that it was because the coolant reservoir has a tiny, tiny pin hole (on the top by the cap). I really wanted to say at this point, would you really tell a male customer ... that! And, that they don't like to fill the oil up too high because it causes damage. Then (I'm thinking), why charge me for 6 qts of oil? The guy then went back into the shop and filled the coolant (obviously not topped off as required), and added more oil. Hmm, I guess it was not filled previously to the proper level..??? By the way, this is how they treat a return customer? Not any more!!!! read more

Years ago when Meineke open shop on Holiday inn in Fairfield, Calif. I was delighting and regular went to service my car. They did a great job on my car and when I had heart surgery and then had a stroke that affective my speech I had to depend with Meineke to a tune up and oil change. When I had the smog check, the spark plug where in the engine compartment and when I had a suspicious that my oil has not been change, I look at it and noticed that my oil has not been changing. I took the car with Meineke and contacting the manger. He inspects the car and realized that the car has not had an oil change. I had been ripped off by the original manger that has been fired. This has been two year ago and I will not return to Meineke. They had let me down when I was down. I work on my own car but when I was down, I was depending on my Meineke. What a let down. I was hoping that Meineke will not let my down, I was wrong. I will not return to Meineke. read more

Actually no stars!!!! I usually do all my own automotive work but I have not had the time to diagnose why my car was overheating. I took my car here to have Meineke diagnose the problem. They had the car for over a day and after diagnosis a relay was faulty after testing and that they would replace the bad relay. After replacing the relay they still had over heating problems, so I was informed the battery was weak and sugested replacing and the fan switch was bad after tehm testing it and they suggested that the thermostat and thermostat gasket be replaced due to the gasket going bad due to the high temperature of the running engine. They never said they tested the thremostat. Also i informed meineke that the radiator fan switch was replaced two days prior to taking them the vehicle for diagnosis. I declined any further diagnosis from them and said I will be down to pick up my vehicle. I went to pick my vehicle up and paid the 120 diagnosis fee and 95 dollar relay charge. I asked for the old part and was told that the service writer could not find the part and he would call when he found the part. After paying the bill I asked for the part again and the service writer said the tech was on lunch and he would have the tech locate the relay. So this seemed fishy to me as when any automotive repair shop is supposed to supply you with any old parts when requested. When I got home I checked if the relay was in fact replaced and to no surprise all cooling relays appeared to be the originals. I Immediately called Meineke to inquire as to which relay was replaced and the service writer questioned the tech and he informed me that it was indeed the # 1 relay. I informed them that the relays appeared to be original.. The Service writer Questioned the tech again and the service writer informed me that there was a mix up due to having several techs diagnosing the issue and if I would drive back down that they would easily install the part that was supposed to have already been installed. I refused and demanded a refund. The service writer informed me that he was unsure how to do refunds and that I would have to be refunded on another day. I returned the following morning and was given a full refund. Need less to say that removing and replacing parts are the essence of car repair. It is my opinion that these mechanics are no better then shotty back yard mechanics. Maybe this situation was too complex for them to diagnose but when in the end of the day I asked them to diagnose an over heating problem and was told that three items were bad and all sorts of other added items that they would happily charge, but maybe not deliver. Who knows how many others they ripped off. If I was an unsuspecting customer my bill would have easily ran up to maybe 5 to 7 hundred dollars, if I went ahead with their recommendations. When in fact the whole problem was the thermostat to begin with, when in fact they did not diagnose the thermostat as being faulty but as the gasket may have been bad to the high running temperature of the engine. Referred my dad for some bigger things on his Lexus and we are both more than happy with the service and friendly informative staff. I will continue to recommend this shop! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The manager, Brandon, is a LIAR, a CHEAT, and completely INCOMPETENT. I called to schedule an appointment to have an oil change on Friday, and I am waiting for 2.5 hours with an appointment until they tell me after closing hours that they didn't get a chance to change the oil. They say if I leave my car overnight that they will do the oil change first thing Saturday morning and will give me a call. I get no call at all and when I call them up I am told that no one there knows what is going on with my car and that I will get a call back. No call back. I call on Sunday and they didn't even get the oil change done. But they somehow had time to tell me my engine was leaking oil and that I should spend $700 to have them fix it for me. These clowns are unreliable, have poor communication within the shop, and do not respect their customers. WORST SHOP I GAVE EVER BEEN TO. read more

Beware: Do not go here to get your car serviced. I brought mine in for an oil change. They told me it would take an hour (I had an appointment scheduled by the way) it was more than 2 hours before they called me about my car. The guy also mentioned that he recommended that I get my car checked out for an oil leak and to flush out brake fluid. I decided not to since I have an acquaintance I could ask for a better deal through. (I went to Meineke only for their oil change deal though which was not bad. ) Well, when I brought my car to my buddy, he told me whoever did my oil change left my filter loose. If my oil had all leaked out, I could've risked having to replace my engine! I was furious and called Meineke. The man I spoke with asked me to bring to bring my car back in but said that an oil filter being loose was something that may have happened 2 times there before, so it was a slim chance. I told him I just wanted to make a complaint. He didn't apologize or anything, just said that he would talk to the technician. I am not coming back there and told a handful of family and friends who told me they don't care for that place. read more

Had my son's brakes checked here.. Brake pads originally repaired at firestone a year and a half ago found to have been done wrong and was causing an awful noise whenever you back up. We had a flat tire on the way home from vacation. After installing the temporary duty spare tire, we drove to Meineke and had a patch placed in the flat tire. After making sure that the patched tire would hold pressure, they installed it on the car and we were back on the road. Excellent service! read more

So get this, after being disappointed at the DMV by needing a smog check before I can register my vehicle I call meineke. DAVID is quick to say bring the vehicle in, I arrived about 5 minutes later, and was greeted by a warm welcome David quickly attended to my vehicle and offered a discount on the smog check instantly. The staff was extremely curious and from what I observed were treating customers fairly and we're really trying to save them money. David took care of all the paperwork and I was handed a certification of passing 25 minutes from stepping through the door. It was the most professional , and fast service I have ever received. I do not recommend this place to anybody. i had my ac inspected/seviced. i was quoted 160. Zack the manager called me and told me the ac compressor is bad. somehow he convinced me to get the ac compressor replaced and running for 1k. thinking they are going to do a good job. i dropped off my car saturday i took it back on tuesday. NOT fixed and 1k in the drain. this place will rip you off. Learn from my experience and keep your money. read more

If I could give these guys no stars, I would! Let me tell you about my experience at this shop. I took my 2010 Chevy Malibu here because when braking the pedal would pulsate. I thought to myself cool, easy fix, new rotors, and pads. Meineke completed the job and told me that with the package I paid for I could get new pads for free. Awesome. However, within six months the pulsating was back, plus I noticed a large amount of brake dust on my front wheels. I took it to another mechanic who promptly told me that the parts that Meineke used were super cheap. My front brakes and rotors wore out within six months which caused my back rotors to overcompensate. Long story short I needed new rotors and pads all around within six months. They are trash and use inferior parts. DO NOT take your car here. Find a reputable shop and stick with them do not go for the fast food style of auto repair that is Meineke of Fairfield. read more

This shop is untrustworthy. I got my brakes and rotors replaced 7 months ago. Since then I've return my squeaky brakes back 4-5 times. Each time I was told the mechanic could not hear any squeaking. Now I have a large ring around my front rotors! I brought the car in to show the damage that the brakes have done to my rotors and was told that I would receive a warranty job. They will replace the rotors and brakes. The appointment was made and I was on my way. Brought my car in on the appointment day and was told that they test drove the car and couldn't hear any squeaking but they would replace my rotors and pads. This didn't sit right with me as I never left the shop. I went outside where I was unable to be seen by customers and employees and my car had never left the spot I parked it when I arrived. So after the manager John called and lied to me, I walked in and asked him to talk to me outside. I informed him that I was there the whole time and know he had lied about driving the car. All of this after spending $1000 with a life time warranty?!?!?!? I was told what he meant to say which was totally different than what he told me over the phone! So now I'm promised a replacement yet again with a new appointment, only now I have to take off work because I don't trust the liars to complete the work unattended. Please don't trust this business with your vehicles. Negative stars should be an option. read more

There's so many better options out there. I knew that yet I still went here... I've taken my cars here a few times on and off over the last couple of years. The service was nothing special but it got the job done. So when I needed to get an oil change for my car I bought a Groupon for this shop. I scheduled a 11am appointment for Saturday morning. I dropped the car off at 9:30am the day of my appointment and told them I'd pick it up when it's done.... I hadn't heard from the shop all day so I called at 2:30pm and asked if my car was ready. The employee on the other end replied with "Sorry man, we've been swamped with walk-in appointments all morning. It'll be ready in an hour." I arrived at the shop 90mins after our conversation and the manager informs me they hadn't even taken the car in for the oil change! Again he reverts back to his sorry excuse of walk-in appointments. He was very unprofessional making it seem like i was in the wrong to question him on why my car hadn't been worked on in the 6+ hours it's been sitting there. If you're going to take walk-ins then what's the point of making appointments? Stay away from this place. You'll be disappointed. read more

UPDATE!!! I finally got the shop owner's attention once I sued in small claims court. After a long wait and court fees, case was settled with the company's insurance prior to the hearing. Unfortunately they would not touch my vehicle again even when warranty was implied for a covered part at the time of repair. Lesson learned: get everything in writing and inspect your vehicle before and after the repair along with the service technician. read more

This place is kind of whatever, I've only been here 2 or 3 times for oil changes and each time it gets worse. I started coming here only because they are close to where I live but I think it's time to start looking at other options. I made an appt for 1:00pm and was told my car would be ready by 2:30 and that was "worst case scenario" according to the girl at the counter. I went back at 2:30 and my car was still sitting out front and wasn't even touched yet. And every single time I go there they always seems to find a laundry list of things that they want to fix for me and make it sound like my car is gonna fall apart at any given moment. Example, they told me my serpentine belt was extremely old and needed to be replaced ASAP. I declined, drove home and checked it out, it just had some normal wear but was nowhere near as bad as they made it seem. I get the feeling they try to get over on people who don't know much about cars. I don't really recommend this place. read more

I have been coming to this shop for several years. Every time I come in for an oil change they always alert me about the issues with my car. I always walk away with an estimate of suggested repairs. I'm not a mechanic so I feel like I have to trust them. I know they guarantee their work. One thing is for sure they keep my car maintained and running. I would give them no stars if I could. My boyfriend took his car in a few weeks ago for a simple oil change. We had an appointment but after 45 minutes of waiting in the lobby his car was still parked out front. When I asked the service advisor Dave why our car had not yet been pulled inside to be worked on he told me that they were short staffed and doing the best they could. He said our car would be the next one inside. My boyfriend asked why they were taking appointments if they don't have enough mechanics to work on them and he can't get a straight answer. Finally one of the mechanics drove our car into the shop. After another 45 minutes of waiting my boyfriend asked the other service advisor Eric (Dave had left at 10:30 AM for some reason) why our car was not done yet. He said he didn't know but would go find out. He comes back and tells us that they are waiting for an oil filter. Why don't they have enough stocked oil filters?! Then he proceeds to try to sell us a brake fluid flush on our 3 year old car with less than 30,000 miles. My boyfriend asks to see it for himself and we follow Eric to the back. Its very clear from the start that this is not a professional shop. The mechanic is standing in the corner next to our car smoking inside the shop. When Eric asks him to show us the brake fluid he points it out and it is not dirty. He just stared at us like we were idiots and then walked away. They were trying to sell us something our car did not need! Finally my boyfriend loses his patience after waiting 90 minutes for the oil change to be done and their attempt to rip us off with the brake fluid and tells the service advisor that our car needs to be done now! Another 15 minutes go by and finally we get our car back. We waited almost 2 hours for a simple oil change and there was no apology or offer for discounted service. After getting home my boyfriend found oil dripping from under the car. Luckily it was a leak but just oil left over from the bottom that they did not clean properly. The bottom line is avoid this place at all costs. The service advisor Eric seemed like the only helpful person working here. The rest of the staff didnt seem to care and the one mechanic smoking next to our car showed the lack of professionalism they seem to have here. There are much better places to go in Fairfield that offer better service and honesty at a lower price. read more

I had my car towed in as it wasn't drivable. While waiting for the results, a guy came in to serve papers to someone that worked there. (a BIG red flag for me). When I mentioned it, they blew it off saying it wasn't true. They were actually laughing about it. I found out I had blown my engine in my car. I supposedly had a power train warranty that apparently expired. It was 45,00 miles OR 4 years. They said I drove too many miles. Most places would work with you but not them. Then they wanted to charge me over $5000 to replace my engine. They wouldn't release my car to the tow company unless I was there in person to sign the papers. I gave permission to the tow company to pick it up. That should count for something. They were rude and unprofessional. NEVER again will I set foot into that place. Hope your customers see what I saw. read more

I brought my vehicle here a few months ago for an oil change and tire rotation. They recommended other services that I needed to have done and I ended up replacing my rack and pinion and drive train components. Prior to the work I never had any problems with my turning ratio or tires grinding on anything, but I had these when they "fixed" my vehicle. A couple months later I had some other work done by a different mechanic and he told me that I was going to need a new rack and pinion. I was upset because I had just gotten one!! He explained that my boot was pinched when they put it on, which cracked it and all the grease slung out. I had already taken it back to Meineke once or twice before when they supposedly fixed it. For them to not see, or to see and not fix this blatant problem that they created is unbelievable to me and a reason why I will not recommend or take my vehicle back to this place. My current mechanic took my vehicle to Meineke and had them fix all of the issues they created. read more

I took my Toyota in for a simple oil change. Less than a week goes by and my engine was leaking oil. I open up the hood and notice my oil cap was missing! I called up Meineke and ask if they will reimburse me for a new oil cap (cost = $6 to $14). The guy I spoke with said I would have noticed it the day I left their shop. I told him whoever did my oil change probably didn't tighten the cap and therefore must have pop out after some time. He was implying that is impossible. I responded to him and said, oh, so are you saying I opened up my hood (like everyone else) and loosen the cap myself? The only explanation is that the worker didn't tighten up the cap. Meineke said they will have a manager call me the next day....it' been two days and I haven't received any information. "CARE" is not a word this company should use. Usually if a company know they are at fault, the good ones would take "Care" of their customers! Bad ones (like this one here) denies any fault. It really doesn't take a college educated person to determine who is at fault here. Seriously, what is $6 -$14 to fix a mistake they made. Don't buy into them being nice at the counter. They only want your money, then once you drive off, they don't care. read more

I have come to this shop on more than one occasion but I can guarantee that today is the last visit. The person behind the counter, Justin, has much to learn about customer service. He was dismissive and in my opinion rude. I stood in front of him and wrote this review while he looked over my shoulder to help the customer behind me. It took them 10 hours and me making 4 phone calls just to get an idea of what was wrong with my truck. I had to rent a vehicle because I didn't know what else to do. He finally called me at 6:30pm. I don't mind waiting but not if I don't know what I'm waiting for and I appreciate being treated like I matter. I did not get this from him. I fully intend to have the necessary work on my truck done just not by them. I had my truck towed from there and another mechanic on the line. Don't treat your customers like you're the only gig in town. Very disappointed. read more
