He does however give you the bottom line on what you need to do to keep your vehicle in good working conditions. The man looks you in the eye. Had an appointment on a Friday morning for a Smog check. Started off ok...but then the car and paperwork sat for a solid 15 minutes before they started working on anything. Staff were on the phone calling other customers. Once they got started, no other troubles. But it left a dark cloud having to wait around after we arrived on time for our appointment. I cannot say enough about Meineke (especially the one on Holiday Lane). We've been going for a number of years but it is definitely improving all the time. I think that Jonathan is bringing a new level of expertise, professionalism, timeliness, courtesy and honesty to this business. It had that before but in a day and age when there is a lack of trust in the auto repair industry - this Meineke is to be trusted. What I like is that there is a confirmation to what needs to be done and a reliability and quality to the work as well. I love all of the little touches that Meineke has. Water bottles, plastic on the seats, reminder notes, coupons, clean waiting room, interesting magazines and true and genuine friendliness and sincerity from the staff - all say a lot about their business model. I went to this location this morning for an oil change which included a free tire rotation, fluid top off, brake check. It was my first time going to Meineke and my last. After I got my keys back and went to my vehicle, I noticed my tires were not rotated as promised. How do I know? I was smart to mark my tire with chalk, so I went back inside to complain to the employee (Zack). He confirmed that the technician (NM) did not rotate the tires. I am shocked that this particular place is dishonest and tried to rip me off. Please be smart and mark your tires, or ask for the old parts back ( for example: a cabin filter, etc ) for evidence that the job was actually done. I went for an oil change. Made an appt. Started out well, but gradually lost stars as they were unable to fulfill their promises. For example,"this should be fast...30-45mins." Came back in 45 mins and they were just starting. Then finally I pay and thy say,"they will bring your car right out." 20mins later, no car. I ask the guy about it and he abruptly tells me, "yeah, they're putting oil in it now." I was going to give them high marks, but they blew it. Cheap though. Only $20. Female receptionist lied to me. Called to make an appointment and was told not necessary and just "Come on in, we'll get it done." When I arrived I was told it would be done in "90 minutes." 2 hours later I returned and asked if my car was done, she replied, "We haven't gotten to it yet." I asked her why she told me 90 minutes and she arrogantly replied, "We're short on technicians." No apology, just an attitude (poor). Where to start... Well I went in for an oil change and came out leaking coolant... Ok so I went in for an oil change one morning. It didn't seem to busy, plus I had an appointment. The guy at the counter said it would take about 45 min. So I handed over my key and walked over to Denny's for some breakfast. Then to kill some more time, I walked over to Raley's. I was gone a little over an hour. I walk back to check on my car and they are not done yet. So I sit around for another 30-35 min and FINALLY. My oil change is done. He tells me everything is fine and my car looks good, EXCEPT for this one thing. A small coolant leak that popped up out of nowhere... He says "here, I'll show you." He shows me this fresh coolant drip. Keep in mind that I have never had an issue with the cooling system or leaking. Not surprisingly, he begins to tell me they can fix it, how much it costs and shows me the estimate for the work. I decline. I knew I was getting played. A few days later, I am driving home from work and my car overheats! I open my hood and check the coolant and the resrvoir is BONE DRY! Needless to say, I was livid. I know they caused the problem with the coolant leaking because within a matter of days I went from no coolant leak what so ever, to not being able to hold coolant for a day. It's really sad because I wanted to bring my car to a big name place like this to avoid scam artist mechanics. Oh well. I will not be back. This place is a proven joke/hack shop, I contacted the company with two receipts showing clearly that the damage was caused from their mechanic with photos to back up, I was told instantly that they intended to deny responsibility yet they were the only ones to have ever worked on my truck. Their cowardly owner of the franchise apparently refused to acknowledg his responsibility to employee employees that are incompetent to perform a simple helicoil job as I never heard a peep from the company yet I was assured I would, ...... or own up to his responsibility to hiring hacks that destroy hard working customers trucks due to their lack of knowledge or proper equipment required to perform a job that my truck required. Had the work been addressed as it initially needed properly I'd never world needed to tell the public off my horrific experience in dealing with this shoddy company, please save your cash and your vehicle and go to a pro who won't leave shavings of metal in your engine causing further damage. I was needing to get the brakes replaced on my car and I called for an estimate. Dave suggested that I come in and they could do their free brake inspection. They did a full inspection on my car and then Dave took me through step-by-step on what they found, and suggested what needed to be done, but he wasn't pushy about getting everything done that day. Fine called at 3pm not ready. 3:30 they calling me trying to sell bunch of stuff for over 650$$. I knew that my front brakes were bad. I'll never ever go there again wasted whole day. AND I had 5gallons of gas when I went there but when I was driving it back home light came on. I didn't get it. So be careful write down your miles before you leave your car. Ladies, I have finally found an auto repair shop that don't charge you for things you don't need done...I had a great experience from the moment I came through the door great customer service, and they really know what they are doing. They told me things that were wrong with my car then fixed them. Told me how long it was going to take and they did not have me waiting one second longer then what they said. They charged me what they said they would charge no hidden fees at all. I was very HAPPY. Every time I have gone back have had the same GREAT EXPERIENCE. The entire staff are great people from the owner all the way down to the gentlemen who repairs the cars I have met them all. They explain what they have done and make sure you understand what they said. They stand by their work and make sure you are completely satisfied before you leave. The car I have is a bucket and is my youngest sons so there were quite a few things that needed to be fixed on it this is his first car so he hasn't taken good car of it but since I have found Meineke this is the only place who will EVER work on it. I must share this story I live in Vallejo and one day when my car was in the shop the manager came all the way to my house picked me up and took me to my job interview now that's what I call going above and beyond. Well just as usual these people are gouging people that are ignorant to vehicle care. I brought my audi into get a simple oil change. The cost for oil filter was $22, $10 more than the actual dealership and I was charged $10 a quart for mobile one synthetic oil. Of course I was quoted that the oil change started at $64.99 but because the name "audi" I walked out the door for $89. The service was good and I had no problems besides the "you drive an audi" extra charge. You are better off bringing your own oil and filter and having them change it for 21.99 read more

I had been going to this shop for four years, but have decided I probably won't be back. What started as a simple customer service issue turned into a unprofessional, frustrating experience. I was signed up for a credit card over the phone prior to picking up my car. When I go to pick up/ pay, He forgot and charged to my credit card instead of the Meineke (one I had just signed up for due to the 6 months free interest). I asked about the card, he said he forgot we signed me up for one and apologizes. The man working the counter tells me that unfortunately his system doesn't allow him to do refunds,and said I could always use it next time. 1) frustrating but I figure ok maybe I can call corporate and get the card canceled since I don't need it or get some kind of refund/ repurchase. To save for length, I go through this back and forth with the credit card company, and the corporate office to then see if maybe I can just get the payment switched to the Meineke. They pass along my information to the district manager. A woman, whose name I can't quite catch but sounds like Loya calls and tells me the shop would have to take care of it a refund process/ repurchase 2) the process of getting any kind of answer was well drawn out. I call the shop, talk to Jonathan, he then proceeds to tell a fib again. He then tells me oh we could of done a refund but it would of had to been that same day. But I thought I told you that and you said it was fine and that you would use it some other time. I immediately was frustrated, it's ok to make Mistakes, we're only human. It's not ok to lie at my expense. He then tells me he'll call his boss and call me by the end of the day. Here we are 2 days later and no call. I am going to cancel my card, use my points at the other shop (which by the way I keep getting told I never have enough points but that's also a lie based on what the app tells me). I miss when Zach was there, he was the one who fixed damage from when a previous manager charged me for work that was never even done! A simple situation turned into a really terrible customer service experience. What's also upsetting is that none of the upper Managment seems to be concerned with addressing the concerns I have. They suck. I have taken my car here maybe 10 times. Mostly oil changes but had tires put on here, brakes repaired and a radiator repair. All three times I have come to Meineke for anything other than an oil change I have had to take my car back because they did not complete the repair. Zach at Meineke was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable when we called for help and personally worked on our car to get it fixed. He connected the plate as best he could since the holes were broken and screws couldn't be used. He spent time to explain what had happened and what he was doing and that it was a temporary repair.
