I enrolled my son 2017-2018 school year because I was concerned that he wasn't getting the education he deserved at public school. Public school burdened us with homework, overcrowding classrooms and way too much standardized testing. Thankfully, I found AEF. AEF not only focuses on book work. They focus on social skills, emotional skills and life skills. They have core values that support family. With public school we had hours of homework and that would leave my son discouraged, tired and frustrated. The curriculum at AEF is tailored for the child because every child is different. The communication between teachers and parents is amazing. They keep you informed and have great relationships with the students. Therefore, the students are very reapectful(you have to see it to believe it). They follow directives the first time given. All of the teachers/administrative staff care about the students. AEF has very small classrooms, they offer healthy ORGANIC lunches and have the best extracurricular programs/fundraisers. I was so happy with my son's increased confidence and academic progress, that I decided to withdraw my daughter's from public school and enroll them at AEF. They love it!!!! I will say they have zero tolerance for bullying, disrespectful and possibly aggressive students. Therefore, they are very selective in what students they accept. Considering the state of public schools across the nation, you can't blame them. They take school safety very serious. I know this is a long review but I am extremely grateful for the environment. My son had very low self esteem when at public school. The teachers didn't care and only worried about testing. He was getting lost. He couldn't do his homework alone and he would cry when I had to take him to public school. Upon enrolling him at AEF in a few months I noticed his confidence increasing and he was able to work independently. His handwriting greatly improved and so did his focus. He even likes to read books now lol! Anyway, I would strongly recommend AEF if you have been considering it. This school messed me up. I'm sure this school is an amazing place for some other people but too many things happened to me there for me to get into them. All I can say is do your research. One of the people who was in charge of watching me got arrested for physically abusing a child. He was caught on camera and had his teaching licence revoked. Do your research. A website can make anything look good. Just please listen to you children if you decide to send them there. The school has some really strange/bad business practices. They make you sign up for your next year in December. A whole 2 months of your child being at the school and they will make you choose weather or not to sign up for the next year. The school has caused me a great deal of depression and abuse and if you send you child there, PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CHILD. They are your best source of information. But for me, this school is the worst spot of my memory in my childhood. I went to the school in Davie. I've never used Yelp, but I feel like I need to talk about this. An alternative education school that promotes the difference. The acronym does not at first sight suggest its definition, nor does it reflect the school's mission. AEF is not even the traditional "village" often expected by parents. It takes time to understand and evaluate what makes AEF different than other institutions of its kind. One can only profile the answer in the subtle result that appeases parents' anxiety and shapes pupils' aspirations. AEF's dedicated teaching and support staff has been able to rebuild the "village" no longer found in too many circles. Let's not allow that difference to remain a secret. I have witnessed the abusive behavior in this school at the hands of Lance Fein. I was much younger and didn't know what to do about it and I didn't have a phone to record the disciplinary measures he resorted to like grabbing a student and putting him up against the wall or physically dragging a student into the hallway or even the way they talk to teachers there. This was years ago but I hope they have straightened up knowing anyone can catch these instances on camera. Violence does not train a child to behave of their own free will. Pointless and vicious acts from a person who claims to be educated; no amount of degrees or titles could make me respect this man. read more

This school is absolutely second to none. It has by far been the best decision I've made to send my daughter there. She was getting further and further behind in the public school system. This school has brought her up to and in some subjects exceeding grade level. The teachers are kind, compassionate, and very caring. They have strict rules that have to be adhered to, but those rules teach their students to be functional members of society, take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Highly Recommend. Small student to teacher ratio a huge benefit. I cannot be happier with her progress. My only regret is not sending her to AEF sooner. read more

The AEF School has helped my daughter achieve standards that would not have been attainable in the public school system. The AEF School has a low ratio of students to teachers; therefore, the teachers have a real understanding of each child. The teachers are passionate about there job. They know there purpose is to make sure that each child succeeds in life through academics, social skills, and self-confidence. My daughter has been at AEF School since third grade and is now at the High School where she is maintaining academic standards, interacting with friends, and is truly happy. We love this school! AEF has given my son the ability to be successful. AEF has given us (family) the ability to be hopeful. They created an individual learning plan that includes social skills, and academics. Which is so gracefully interwoven into their daily routine and soon carries over at home. The teachers AND staff simply have THE KNOW HOW. If you have any issues or concerns the teachers and staff quickly move to give the parents support and guidance. This school has definitely made an impact in my son's life he went from an unhappy, insecure, tense child to a happy go lucky little boy who has friends and LOVES HIS SCHOOL!!!! read more

AEF is a WONDERFUL school, always willing to help your child. Our son has done two summer camps and is in his second year in AEF. He has come out of his shell, and loves school. Class sizes are small and teachers can focus on each child needs so they can reach their potential. AEF works on all aspects of learning which includes social and life skills. Saying all that I myself only concern is that academics seem not to always be on top of the list. Rewards are given which are primarily appears are for behavior which is great if you have behavior issue but in my case we need more focus on academics. read more

AEF has been a great school for my children. My daughter was two grades behind in some of her classes before she started here. By having teachers teach them in smaller classes and help them one on one if needed in a subject. she has brought up all her grades and can even understand Math when before she couldn't even learn how to do her multiplication facts before. The teachers try many different methods of teaching until the child can understand what he or she is learning. She now loves going to school and learning new things. read more

My son goes to AEF in Davie this is a great school with great student environment with small student to teacher ratios this is my child's third year at this school and I would not change him for anything this school has made a great impact on my child's learning and overall well being he went from a child that refused to go to school and who now loves going to school and the staff are all great and it has been a great experience and I would recommend and refer this school to anyone. read more

I am happy with the progress that my daughter is making at AEF. Their smaller classes provide her with the ability to work at her own pace and receive individualized attention. The staff works hard with the parents to provide an environment that promotes academics as well as social interaction skills. I can see an improvement in my daughter's ability to grasp the work. AEF has really helped teach my children a new way to learn. My daughter now looks forward to the future and wants to go to college. They have great individualized learning plans for each child to meet their needs for learning. If one way doesn't work the will try something else until it clicks for the child. My son has been attending AEF Schools for 4 years and couldnt be happier. We tried everything from public schools, military schools and even church schools. AEF was the perfect match! They have small classrooms so that all of the students get involved in the lesson. They take a hands on approach of learning that has worked for my son. My experience with this school has been great! The teachers are willing to put in extra time and effort in order to ensure each of the students are happy and doing well. They create lessons that are unique and helpful to each individual student. I have a close relative who daughter attended AEF schools and am also friendly with a coworker whose child attends AEF. They both say only wonderful things about the school and the staff. I recently attended their graduation ceremony at the Signature Grand and saw what a wonderful and nurturing environment they have. The kids and parents love the school and the teachers. read more

My daughter went to Seminole middle school and i was very unhappy with her grades and also lots of drugs and bad companys and most important teachers and staff not too caring and this is the first year in AEF and i have seen a change 100 percent better!! It is unfortunate that yelp uses an automated formula to choose which reviews it recommends and which it doesn't. Hopefully this one will be a recommended review.
