I applied to the school and she did not make the lotto pick so I went on to the BridgePrep of Hollywood Hills. There my daughter did get picked the following week after I applied. The office staff is friendly and Mr Marcelo, the principal greeted me. Fast forward my daughter just graduated Kinder and looking forward to going to first grade. Her teacher Ms. Brevil is excellent. My daughter has learned so much. The principal Mr. Marcelo is super humble and inviting. I live in North Miami Beach area and am willing to drive to Hollywood all over again. I feel the school is in a safe zone. Nice building and well organized.

Our kids have been there for 2 years and their classroom is more multicultural than their last private school. They both have kids of many diverse nationalities in their classrooms, including Muslim, Indian, African American, Jamaican... they are not racist at all. The teachers are also very diverse. The school teaches about all the holidays and their entire motto has to do with peace and loving one another. They say it daily during their morning song. I love this school and I am so happy that our children learn to respect others and get along with everyone. There is no bullying here because it is not tolerated. This school is the only Montessori that I know that goes up until 8th grade and the students in the middle school are very diverse as well. Summit has a growing sports program and beautiful indoor gym, pool, and farm. Do not believe the reviewer about the school not being interested in welcoming people if different races. It is possible that the child did not fit the Montessori environment. I do agree that the office could have communicated more promptly.

Where there is a will there is a way. If every child were given a healthy place to grow and learn like this, the world would be a much better place. Heck! We should ALL be seen, honored and celebrated the way students are at this school! It is located in the Jewish Community Center however, it is NOT a religious school BUT it IS a 'spiritual' school in that the students are taught to care for one another, the greater community, the planet and environment and THEMSELVES. This being said, it is NOT some 'Hippy' school. It is a serious program and a lot is offered and expected from the students academically. I would say the classes are more akin to an undergraduate program at a good university. They are certainly far more challenging than a regular high school-private or public. The students are expected to research & write at a college level (They are WELL taught and guided to be able to do so). They all take Latin, do community service as well as internships in fields of their own interest. They research utilizing real scientific publications and are taught to properly use them. This is an exceptional college preparatory program. Upon graduation they should be able to coast on auto-pilot through an undergraduate degree. There is also a STRONG sense of community. No high school 'Clicks'. No one's excluded, there is NO bullying or teasing-PERIOD. All of these 'details' are paid close attention to by the staff. I could go on and on but , see for yourself. The headmaster's name is Wendy Weiner and she welcomes visitors. Mrs. Weiner is an exceptional human being. When she felt that South Florida was lacking an acceptable school for her two lovely daughters to attend--she OPENED her own school! Wow. That alone speaks volumes about her but she is also a warm, kind woman. She's strong and capable in a way that inspires others just through her presence. Her children are both amazing young women and demonstrate what an awe-inspiring mother Wendy is. Her eldest daughter is now attending college where she is a member of a co-ed 'Community Service' Fraternity. Clearly she is following in her parents footsteps and giving back to others. Mr. Weiner has also played an essential part in bringing Conservatory Prep to fruition. He is a warmhearted, friendly and earnest man. He works with sincerity and I swear the man has stealth skills! His modesty and humble way of keeping all the wheels in motion is admirable. A husband and wife team adds to the feeling of community that is rarely found anymore and set's a positive example for the children of a loving, intact marriage. Every detail in this tiny school has been considered and achieved. The students, faculty and parents/guardians form a community that touches my heart and feels more like an extended family than simply an institution of learning.
