We have struggled with various private schools, but nothing compares to Sagemont and what each and every teacher has provided. They devote themselves to the success of your child. I'm extremely disappointed by my experience with this school. After a direct conversation about my…read moreson's potential enrollment, I sent a thoughtful follow-up email and received no response. That lack of communication is unacceptable, especially from a school that claims Christian values. My son required only one accommodation: access to a teacher or counselor when he feels anxious. He has excellent behavior and is a kind, compassionate child. After fully explaining this, we were told the school could not meet that need. It is deeply concerning that there is no counselor available, especially while there are plans to expand to a high school campus. Any school, and certainly a Christian one, should have trained counselors and support systems in place for students. As Christian parents, we are intentional about raising our son in a strong church community and equipping him spiritually. We sought a school that would partner in that, not turn him away for needing occasional guidance. Scripture calls us to "carry each other's burdens" (Galatians 6:2), yet this experience reflected the opposite. I urge the school to seriously evaluate both its communication and its ability to support children who need care, wisdom, and guidance.

Greetings Dear Reader,…read more You are reading the most honest review about this school. This is from my experience in the application process after speaking with a prominent staff member at the school. First, we acknowledge that Jesus is King. And that to our children belong the kingdom of heaven. Raising our children right with the fruits of the spirit will lead them to our Father and to our savior Jesus. Parents have a direct role with the raising of our children and our teachers are not far behind in what they do for our children. A christian school is to be led by strong christian men and women. These "leaders" are to exemplify what it means to be christian and a follower of Jesus. This includes showing love, enduring joy, having inner peace, being kind, demonstrating patience and gentleness, exuding faithfulness and goodness and having self-control. We must understand that no one is perfect. Everyone has endured pain, stress, anxiety, etc. However, as a leader in the classroom/teacher the lowest hanging fruit is patience, gentleness, self-control and love. You need to be patient with the children, gentle when they are in need of gentleness, self-control when it is asked and above all love when the kids need it. Based on my initial experience and what i was told, this school and its staff do not have the tools or experience to fully direct the path of these kids in the way I feel a christian school would. Everything happens for a reason as God is never without intent and direction and He does not change. From knowing what I know now, I am glad that our light will be brought elsewhere and that my sons light will not be dimmed by this school. Love conquers all and Jesus is King. Thanks to all who read until the end.

Each student is well known by their teachers & celebrated, encouraged & dare I say, loved? Valued? It is truly a unique place. In addition to that rarity, the school is FUN! They find ways to teach that are creative & engage kids because they are having a good time. This is not your average education but rather a living breathing education-full of excitement. For example, chemistry may be taught via cooking and biology through a mystery that needs to solved. The headmaster is a graduate of Waldorf (Steiner) school & has brought the excellence of that education to her program. You won't find ANYTHING else like this in South Florida. I can't think of many schools where a child is so well cared for emotionally as well as academically. If you are lucky enough to stumble upon this little gem in South Florida you won't want to pass it up. Unconventional? Yes. However, it WORKS. The children are receiving an A+++ education in an alternative setting with amazing educators who see their 'job' as a calling & are head and shoulders above other educators. Give it a try--they welcome any child to come for a day or two visit so that they can see first hand what it is all about. Your child will come home raving & will actually be EXCITED about a SCHOOL! Meet with the headmaster and see for yourself what an elegant, caring, extremely intelligent, strong and capable woman she is. I can say that I feel blessed that my son has the chance to attend this school. I could go on and on but I suggest that you check it out for yourself. Also, it is a private school and education of this quality cost money. What better investment is there though really? However, I should mention that that do have tuition assistance and will also help you look for any scholarships that you may qualify for so, don't let the fact that you have to pay tuition deter you from at least checking it out. Where there is a will there is a way. If every child were given a healthy place to grow and learn like this, the world would be a much better place. Heck! We should ALL be seen, honored and celebrated the way students are at this school! It is located in the Jewish Community Center however, it is NOT a religious school BUT it IS a 'spiritual' school in that the students are taught to care for one another, the greater community, the planet and environment and THEMSELVES. This being said, it is NOT some 'Hippy' school. It is a serious program and a lot is offered and expected from the students academically. I would say the classes are more akin to an undergraduate program at a good university. They are certainly far more challenging than a regular high school-private or public. The students are expected to research & write at a college level (They are WELL taught and guided to be able to do so). They all take Latin, do community service as well as internships in fields of their own interest. They research utilizing real scientific publications and are taught to properly use them. This is an exceptional college preparatory program. Upon graduation they should be able to coast on auto-pilot through an undergraduate degree. There is also a STRONG sense of community. No high school 'Clicks'. No one's excluded, there is NO bullying or teasing-PERIOD. All of these 'details' are paid close attention to by the staff. I could go on and on but , see for yourself. The headmaster's name is Wendy Weiner and she welcomes visitors. Mrs. Weiner is an exceptional human being. When she felt that South Florida was lacking an acceptable school for her two lovely daughters to attend--she OPENED her own school! Wow. That alone speaks volumes about her but she is also a warm, kind woman. She's strong and capable in a way that inspires others just through her presence. Her children are both amazing young women and demonstrate what an awe-inspiring mother Wendy is. Her eldest daughter is now attending college where she is a member of a co-ed 'Community Service' Fraternity. Clearly she is following in her parents footsteps and giving back to others. Mr. Weiner has also played an essential part in bringing Conservatory Prep to fruition. He is a warmhearted, friendly and earnest man. He works with sincerity and I swear the man has stealth skills! His modesty and humble way of keeping all the wheels in motion is admirable. A husband and wife team adds to the feeling of community that is rarely found anymore and set's a positive example for the children of a loving, intact marriage. Every detail in this tiny school has been considered and achieved. The students, faculty and parents/guardians form a community that touches my heart and feels more like an extended family than simply an institution of learning. "They're not the best at what they do, they're the ONLY ones that do what they do." ~Bill Graham

However, we needed a school that checked ALL the boxes; academic approach/curriculum, safety and security, professionalism, trustworthy, communicative, importance to cleanliness(this was even more important because we started during the pandemic). Weston Learning Academy checked EVERY.SINGLE.BOX. Mrs. Dolores was responsible for our first impression of the school and she made a lasting one. She is a joy to communicate with and she is so intuitive and understanding. Our daughter is excelling academically and loves going to school. Ms. Anais is a wonderful teacher and has prepared her very well for the transition to Kindergarten. Credit goes to the administration, faculty and staff for making children feel so welcome and excited to learn. Of course it was a no brainer when our second child was ready, WLA was the school for her. Once again, they proved that we had made the best choice for our girls. There's nothing more important than peace of mind when it comes to your kids. That's what WLA gives us everyday we drop them off.

Their curriculum is impressive and they also use the Montessori approach which I love and respect. They are also great communicating and keeping parents informed. Overall, my child and my family are having a wonderful experience at Weston Learning academy. Thank you WLA!.

As a parent, I know how much time goes into choosing the right high school, so I wanted to share…read moreour experience with Western. My daughter is starting her sophomore year, and we've been very happy with the school so far. She's been involved in a mix of extracurricular activities, and I've loved seeing her discover new interests while building confidence along the way. Western offers so many ways for students to get involved that it's easy to find something that's a good fit. Academically, Western has exceeded my expectations. The AICE program is challenging, and students are encouraged to push themselves while receiving the support they need to be successful. The preparation for AICE exams has been outstanding, which is a tremendous advantage for families looking for a rigorous academic experience in a public high school. The variety of advanced courses also gives students the opportunity to prepare for college in a meaningful way. I've also been impressed by the teachers, coaches and administrators. It's clear they want students to succeed, and they do a nice job recognizing accomplishments and creating a positive school environment. Every student's experience will be different, but if you're looking for a public high school with strong academics, plenty of opportunities outside the classroom and a community that encourages students to grow, Western is definitely worth considering.
