What an amazing environment! The academics are excellent, staff are knowledgable, caring and warm. The school is clean and has a lot of great technology and multiple above and beyond extracurricular activities for kids including Robotics, Technology, Coding, Sports, Music and Arts. My daughter started at this school 9 years ago and is now doing so well in a bigger school because I believe she got the right foundation at Sunshine. She was motivated and challenged at the right time and in the proper way, which paved her future academic success as she grew older. She carried through the passion for learning, responsibility for her work and enthusiasm for challenges gained at Sunshine State Academy onto older grade levels. She had Ms. Hanna as her teacher in pre-K and I take my hat down for all the patience and knowledge she invested in my child. Still the best math teacher and homeroom teacher I have met. My daughter had many other amazing Sunshine teachers and staff members who also made a difference. Ms. Jennifer is a great and caring teacher, Ms. Cindy is the most compassionate and knowledgable director (she really takes the time when you need guidance about the school system) . Ms. Nilka who makes everything run alike a well oiled machine and many many others. I am taking the time out of my day to write this, because no words would be enough for my family to really explain how grateful we are to have had the Sunshine Family in our lives. It is so important to chose an environment where your child will bloom. Sunshine was and still is after 9 years, academically strong, warm and family oriented and very structural pre-school. My son who is now turning 5 has also been at Sunshine for 3 years, and we continuing to see him grow and achieve amazing results both personally and academically. Every mother chooses the very best for her child. When it came to selecting a school for my daughter Kira, I approached the decision very thoughtfully and intentionally. For me, it was not only about the academic level. I care deeply about the teaching methodology, the way teachers communicate with children, additional development opportunities, cleanliness, nutrition, and most importantly -- the environment in which my child grows and learns by example. It is not an easy request. But I found exactly that at Sunshine State Academy. At just four years old, my daughter confidently speaks three languages -- Spanish, Russian, and English. She can hold conversations, solve math problems, and even sing songs in all three languages. But what matters most to me is that she runs to school every single day with joy -- excited to see her beloved teachers, Miss Grisell and Miss Dasha. I want to express my deepest gratitude to them personally. WE LOVE THE preschool Sunshine !!! The best daycare in Miami! The director of Sunshine was immediately warm and welcoming inviting us in to see this small, "family feel" preschool when we came the first time . She is always open for conversation, empathetic, real, transparent and a parent herself. She employs a staff that also models those qualities. Mis Nella Gurduza and Miss Maria Cecilia Murillo at the moment are my daughter's teachers and I am delighted. If we have ever had a concern about our girl (potty training, bottle weaning, tantrums etc)... they are all there to assist, work with us and ultimately foster love, patience, knowledge and kindness in our girl and all other kids. They have a curriculum that is followed and emailed monthly. Daily reports are sent out over a phone app making it easy to check in on the kids each day. Healthy breakfasts and catered (healthy) lunches are provided each day, along with snacks in between. They have a nice playground that the kids love playing on when it is nice outside and a large open room to run around in when it is raining or too cold to be outside. Along with the day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things around the holidays for the kids/parents (christmas program, easter egg hunt, valentines etc). I honestly could go on and on about all the ways The Sunshine Preschool is a phenominal daycare... but most importantly, I dont have to question what type of care my girl is getting. We are already in our 5th year with Sunshine State Academy, and all we can say is -- this is the best private school your child deserves! Our son started when he was just 2 years old, and now he is 7. Watching his growth, confidence, and academic progress has been truly amazing. We have been with Sunshine Academy for 3 years. Our son started Pre-Kindergarten grade in Ms. Hannah's class, she is an outstanding, skilled math teacher, who gave our son a firm math base. From that time math has been his favorite subject. To say more Ms. Hanna was like a second mom to our child, helping him in every possible step, our son became an independent kid, who started doing so much stuff on his own. Ms. Hannah fully prepared him for the elementary school. Our son's kindergarten teacher was Ms. Kelly, she is an amazing teacher, who treats kids with care and love. Now our child is in first grade, in Ms. Elizabeth's class. She is a skillful teacher, who is very attentive to every child's need. We are considering ourselves incredibly lucky, that we were able to accommodate our son at a such superb school with excellent teachers and stuff, who goes beyond possible in order to provide the best education for children. The school provides children with healthy, homemade food: breakfast, lunch (it is always salad, soup and entrée) and snack. The menu changes every day! No junk food! We couldn't be happier with Sunshine State Academy in Hollywood. We've been at the school for a year now and it's been such a great experience for our daughter. The teachers are fantastic -- they're caring, energetic, and really know how to connect with the kids. They challenge them without overwhelming them, and you can clearly see the progress. Our daughter's reading and math skills have jumped so much this year, and she's actually excited to tell us what she learned every day after school. The school has a really warm, family feel to it. The class sizes are small, so the kids get plenty of attention, and the staff is always friendly and easy to talk to. They also do a lot of fun hands-on activities, STEM projects, and field trips that the kids love. Even the lunches are fresh and actually taste good, which is a nice bonus. Most importantly, our daughter wakes up happy and looks forward to going to school every morning. That alone says everything. I am the mother of 2 children and I am so happy that I can raise my children in the beautiful state of Florida. When we moved here from New York, it felt like all the dreams came true. The best place to raise kids is in Florida in Miami/ near Miami. The kids can have it all: sun, beach, great schools, even the skating ring if anyone misses cold. It's a really sunshine state. When we had to choose the daycare for the children, we toured a lot of preschools. A lot of great preschools here as well. To start, Sunshine helped my son be admitted to Pinecrest. Choosing a provider of education for your child is usually the most stressful and challenging step. At least, it was for me, I went to so many schools and asked around about different options and searched on the net, my final decision was Sunshine State Academy. I would make sure in the beginning that I was doing the right thing. Sunshine State Academy, or Sunshine, as I would later call it, surpassed all of my expectations! They took care of my son, the way grandma would, they taught him to read, write, play soccer, songs, poems, and so much more!! Sunshine staff is like a family, they stay as long as they need and make sure every child got his attention, lesson and care!! Everything is done with so much passion that I can say without a doubt that my next child will be going to Sunshine as early as possible because I know that I would be doing the best I can for my child!! My 18 month old daughter has been going to Sunshine for almost 6 months now and I can honestly say it's been a dream come true since day one (since we all know daycares can be a huge nightmare). The staff is extremely professional and welcoming. Her teachers, Ms. Nancy, Ms. Angie and Ms. Cecelia take such good care of my baby - like she is their own. It's so nice that I can leave her there all day while and not have to worry at all. She is always so happy to be there - I drop her off and she has the biggest smile on her face and when I pick her up, she is just as happy. I really can't thank Sunshine enough for taking such good care of my baby. Last thing I want to point out is the fact that she is also LEARNING! The curriculum is enriching and funI get pictures throughout the day of all the activities she is doing (which I love) and I also really like the fact that you get a written daily report in addition to the teachers communicating with me daily in person on how the day went. Both of my children have been part of this amazing community since they were just one year old, and they are growing up here all the way to graduation. My daughter had been attending Sunshine preschool for more than four years until she started an elementary school. She loved going to Sunshine preschool! She's in third grade now and has only good memories from Sunshine. All her teachers were very nice and caring. She learned a lot too. I liked their menu a lot because it wasn't pizza and fries like in many other schools. Kids there actually eat real food such as soups, mashed potatoes, salads, fruits, etc. Another thing I like is their playground. It does NOT have wood chips, which are a choking hazard for younger kids. I don't understand why so many schools have those chips on their playgrounds for toddlers, it is not safe. Sunshine has great teachers, good food, a safe playground, and nice classrooms. My son will soon be old enough to start preschool and I'd like for him to go to Sunshine as well. My son is attending Sunshine State Academy for 4 years, and in my opinion it's the best daycare and school in the area. The school is very clean, and the staff is amazing, my son loved every single teacher he had for all these years! Now he is in VPK class, his teacher, Ms. Paola is very professional, caring, and communicates with me every day to keep me informed of my son's learning progress. Every day I get the report from the school about what they were doing that day, often it comes with the photos of their daily activities or short music class videos. My son has learned a lot during this year - how to speak English, social skills, and even manners. Our two boys 6 and 3 go to Sunshine. We LOVE the school. First of all our children like to go here. Yes, there was some transition time with little one, but teachers put a good effort and now I see how relations are well established. Every staff I met in school are professionals. Ms. Jennifer is so far best teacher that my 6 y.o. son had. What could be more perfect than having my son wrote love letters to her?
