I was able to take a class within 2 days of registering online. This place is inside the South Bay rehabilitation plaza. Parking is in the rear. You walk in and watch a training video. Chad will not stop in between the hands on portion of the DVD. But do not worry, he will do hands on training after he fast forwards all the parts he wants you to watch. Sort of like an intro, then he lectures and makes sure you get down the techniques with your with your dummies (sorry if that's politically incorrect). Chad is very knowledgeable and makes learning CPR simple and fun. He's animated, has a great speaking voice, loud and cracks jokes. I love his teaching style he is straight to the point and he repeats the important facts multiple times so it's embedded in your brain. He goes around and makes sure each person has the correct hand placements and sequencing. At the end, there is a test but he goes over the material. I've been re-certificated for BLS (health care provider) several times but this is the best class I've ever taken and I also learned some new things! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this course. Very easy and very fast. Since I have my CPR card from another place near my school, I was looking for some first aid certification classes in the South Bay Area and this happened to be what I was looking for. Inexpensive and quick, which I really like about taking my classes here. Chad is very professional and easy to talk to. He'll remind you the day before of your class to show up. He has multiple CPR/first aid classes scheduled throughout the week so there is a lot of flexibility there. In terms of the first aid class (which I took), it lasted around an hour than the scheduled 2 hours and it was mostly just watching/speeding though the instructional videos and minimal demonstrations. I was amazed how fast it took and pleased by the results. I'll definitely consider taking a CPR class here as well once my card expires since Chad is awesome. Highly recommended! Did BLS CPR class yesterday. Very satisfied with class. It took 3 hours exactly, no nonsense. Good practical information included and real time of examples given. Ex of instructor: When would you do rescue breathing alone? For someone who has drowned, someone with underlying respiratory diseases, drugs like narcotics, or grandma's meds could cause respiratory depression. If it is grandma and you are with her then you will likely see her have respiratory depression first, gasping, not breathing normally then start the rescue breathing. Rescue breathing is a breath every 6 seconds. And what's next? Lack of oxygen = likely to go unconscious and you may need to start cpr next and remember gasping is not normal breathing (test question). I really appreciated this approach of explanation that was quick, to the point, real world and class did not take forever. Thank goodness they show the painful videos first and get them over at the beginning of the class while you are fully awake. Also, it was pouring rain and I was about 15 minutes late. Instructor didn't haggle me or make me look stupid in front of class. Another gal was even later than I and she too was not given a hard time. Thanks instructor Justin! Yes, I have been to other facilities for CPR classes where instructors do the embarrassment approach and/or turn away late students. Best part they give you a written "study guide" for you to review before you take the test. I am a visual learner so "seeing" the study guide was really helpful. OH and the book was included in the class at no extra cost! $40 for CPR. Cheapest CPR class I found in the area and much better than another center I had been going to which was $62 for course and the longest and most dreaded 4 hours of my life. Thanks 40CPR for not making CPR painful, since I have to do this class every 2 years for the rest of my career, which is approximately another 36 years. read more

The only reason why I am posting a 1 is for the sole reason I got my card quick. I would recommend choosing a class that is not too full as that was my mistake. The whole time I was there, I did not even get to train. I was just standing there, and the instructor literally told me "oh yeah, you don't get one of these!" and laughed in my face. He was passing out a device needed for providing CPR, but I did not even get a dummy to train on at all, so he kept skipping me the whole time. I was the first to show up to class too, and I did not even get to get hands-on training? This man really skipped me the whole time, and only told me "you, come here!" and made me help him clean up the dummies. As an instructor, especially for CPR, you should not skip over someone? Shouldn't you provide them with materials to actually train so that they can actually provide what they learned in real life one day? Fucken ridiculous. Mind you, I was also the only young, Latina in the class. I don't understand why so many positive reviews if my experience was total shit and humiliating. I probably was unlucky that day, or this man was not in a good mood that day. Did race and age have something to do with it? As there were literally only Caucasians but myself there. Who knows, but this individual humiliated me in front of the whole class. Went as far as making fun of my nails too. Ignoring people and not training them is disrespectful when someone is trying to learn for their future career. I am so glad I did not go back to renew my shit there, even after I got the text and email to renew. I am not paying any 40 bucks to a man that disrespected me. So that I can show up early and be ignored, fuck no. He probably doesn't remember me because I was so humiliated to even speak up about it at the time. But I am now. Probably will respond by saying this never happened, but man, it did and I did not forget. So Chad, next time your class is fucken full, come up with a better system to give everyone an equal chance to train. Instead of excluding one individual for god knows what reason. read more

Anything that has to do with the medical field is so far from my comfort zone so when I learned I had to be CPR and First Aid Certified I was sort of freaking out! After taking Chad's class (which was small so he could focus on each student) I can honestly say that I feel comfortable enough to have to preform CPR in an emergency situation! Good place is to find, plenty of parking, good helpful instructor chad. Got my cpr and first aid card after class is over. Paid $50. Got it today 10/29/15. Dont need to know that much English follow the video and other people. Book he provides in class but dont need it just watch video during class, instruct lectures a little bit demonstration and practice. For people obtaining you BLS there is a small test. But he explains the things that will be on test. I recommend it. read more
