Unprofessional & Intimidating ER Experience with Nursing Supervisor Rita…read more Took my 85-year-old mother to the ER on February 3, 2026, for severe abdominal pain (ileus) and back pain (T11 compression fracture on CT). Medical workup was adequate. Nursing care was disgraceful. Two different staff members told us the vacuum/suction machine could help with both urine and stool under bed rest. When my mother--in extreme pain (8-9/10), urgency, and distress--couldn't use the bedpan, they suddenly said only bedpan allowed and completely ignored her suffering and cardiac history. I questioned the flip-flop. Nursing Supervisor Rita called four security guards on me, demanded I delete the recording or leave. After security left and we were moved, she sarcastically asked a second time if I was going to record her again. This was dismissive, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. Hospitals need to be held accountable when supervisors treat vulnerable elderly patients and their advocates this way. Posting publicly so others know what they're walking into.

I have been there on two separate occasions, I found the nurses, and nurse practitioners to be accommodating but the protocols are unacceptable. I left a message at the location, I was seen at to arrange a call back I was under the impression that I would receive a call after the provider finished with the next patient. When I didn't hear back, I called the telephone number listed on Google. You speak with a robot by the name of Amelia who asks a series of questions to send you to the right location. I was referred to an incorrect location multiple times it was a Saturday and I knew I was running out of time if I was going to reach someone. I told the girl no matter how many times I dialed I was consistently referred to the wrong location. She said she couldn't help me. I said do I drive there to get someone to talk to me and she said that was an alternative. So I drove there, at which time the young lady at the reception desk didn't seem particularly interested in my problem. She accused me of yelling when in fact, I was simply angry and I told her I'm not yelling. I'm just angry at which time I began whispering. I am an 81 year -old stroke patient who has to use a walker. She told me to sit down. She was rude, condescending, and not the least bit interested in making me feel better. She was defensive and responsible for involving someone else sitting in the reception area in our conversation. A five-year-old child would have known enough to not have the conversation in an open reception area. I asked to speak to the building supervisor at which time she put me on the phone in the reception area with the supervisor. Once again, everyone in the reception area heard what was going on. The receptionist humiliated me, and exacerbated a sensitive situation . I would never put myself or a family member in that situation ever again. This is a caution to anyone using this urgent care center.

The reception staff were friendly; however, they/the office had me do a test that was absolutely not necessary and though I didn't ask questions about it I was in a lot of pain and didn't even really think about it. They really need to move to a model where they are telling you why they want or need a particular test so that you can refuse if you want. Generally I would not opt out of a test, but this one was truly superfluous, and worth removing one star. The doctor I saw was excellent. She listened to my concerns and her exam did not feel perfunctory or rushed. She provided a prescription for immediate relief as well as a referral for PT and I've been undergoing treatment since. The waiting room was reasonably sized and comfortable, and I'm not sure if it was the day or time of day but there were only a couple other people there. The parking lot is huge, but this is kind of an outpatient medical center; in addition to the immediate care clinic there are offices, oncology services, and other specialists to be found here.

I will give them credit though, they have completely mechanized the health care experience. Even their Doctors seem like robots. - After hours operators are rude. - Appointments aren't convenient to those who work a normal work day, I always have to use my time off for appointments. - Don't bother with the telephone scheduling line off the advocate website when finding another doctor. I was on the phone with them for over 30 minutes and they couldn't find an appointment after 5:00 on the weekdays or a weekend appointment with a female provider in the North side of Chicago area/Northwest Subs. -How could this office not take primary care checkups during the weekends?! -They do not respect patient privacy. I have been left in the room alone and a nurse left the screen open! I saw what other people came to see the doctor for- names and all,so I assume that the same was done for my information! If I was so inclined, I could have done some clicking around! - Plan on waiting in the lobby, on average for me it's a realistic 20 minutes. I was forgotten about once all together. - The Doctor only cares to get you in and out. On two occasions when I requested a longer visit to address concerns, I had 8 MINUTES with the doctor and no questions answered! - The nurse will ask you what you are here for and type it in the computer, but the doctor didn't address them. - I asked for a complete lab workup, and I guess that comes up to about 5 tests.. - I asked for the numbers from those tests and I have yet to receive them, it's been over a month. I'm sorry but "your labs are fine" relayed by god knows who doesn't work for me. I work for the VA and the care given to the patients exceeds this on a bad day by strides.

I can not even believe what I am reading right now…read more Dr. Dana Russo is my gynecologist and I am pretty picky person! I want everything to be 5 stars for me. And they are. I don't care how big office is and where is the desk. Who cares. I love how they greet me at the door and except me, I love my doctor who was with me my whole pregnancy and she IS THE BEST!! I had my baby with them and it was in best hospital EVER!!! If someone waits for little longer has to be exception, because during my pregnancy, which was more then 10 visits, 15 maybe, I waited just once for about 30 minutes and they told me at the front desk that Dr. is late, that I will wait 45 minutes. All other appointments I waited 5, maybe 10 minutes, max.

Dr. Gillis is amazing, he takes plenty of time to explain things thoroughly and clearly has a wealth of knowledge. Dr. Bergeson is great, and Dr. Puls is efficient. He has a different personality. Some like it, some may not. The nurses and office staff are great, they always try to make our child feel happy and safe, though he's usually grumping at them over shots or whatever we were in there for that day. The phone system is different now, they have a triage option for calls needing same-day attention, and they also have options for routine appointments. I've had them call me back well after business hours for non-urgent matters, so I know they take their jobs seriously and they stay until every need has been met. Our family is completely satisfied with this practice and with their staff!

The one day my dad tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Briggs and was told by the receptionist that Dr. Briggs had left the practice. He asked to see another doctor at the practice but was told that they were not taking any Medicare patients. Fast forward six months - my son's prescription needed to be refilled. Despite the fact that he had been on the medication for five years and had been prescribed the medication by a doctor in the office, they required that my healthy son come in for a consultation before they would refill the prescription. We switched practices. Fast forward to yesterday - against my advice my husband called to make an appointment for an annual physical with one of the doctors. He was told that he would need to schedule a consultation with one of the doctors before they would give him his annual. This place is a scam. They require two appointments to accomplish what should be done in one. Practices like theirs are a large part of what is wrong with health care in America.
