I came here on a Saturday afternoon after having lunch with my family. I was really tired and needed a pick me up. Upon entering , there was no other customers inside but some workers and their friends. I was greeted nicely and my order was promptly taken. The set up here is unique and has the feel of an adventurer with maps being presented throughout the establishment. There was a comfortable set up with sofas , tv, etc.... really relaxed. My hot vanilla latte was ok but nothing special - it actually had a different taste but certainly hit the spot. This coffee shop offers breakfast/ lunch and an array of pastries. I'm excited I got to try this place out because it's a great addition to downtown Calera, Al. I plan to return and try more things on their menu! Service was friendly and fast!

Wonderful place! I've been road tripping from Florida to Chicago and I've been desperate for real coffee! This place was such a blessing to find, amazing coffee, food, and staff! Easy to get to write off the highway:)

We were looking for a place to cool off between ballgames and charge our devices. We appreciated the soft background music and there was plenty of seating- couches, tables & chairs, barstools, etc. I had a bacon cheese breakfast croissant that was delicious but my favorite was the fruity lemonade. I had strawberry one visit and peach the next. Highly recommend as a place to congregate, work, hangout, etc.

First time here and what a cool spot! Our drinks were delicious, my mom is a real picky coffee drinker but she even loved it!!! Now has a bar on the other side! That connects to the business that's beside it. Also has plenty of parking outback and in the front of the store. We will be back here for sure! Would be a really great place to go and do some work, homework, or just to relax.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Good coffee, nice hangout spot, me and my friends come here all the time it's clean and has very hip and unique decor, the customer service is good and fast 10/10 place.

Toby inspecting the bags, he preferred the pumpkin spice (maybe because he's orange like a pumpkin?)

This was the first location of Baba Java and has since expanded through the city. Ran my Omani entrepreneurs, this little coffee shop became quite popular over the years. The staff working here are mostly teenagers or college students, who are very attentive and professional despite their young age. The owner clearly picked out incredible folks to be here who make Baba Java feel both welcoming and well kept. The interior of the space is fairly basic coffee shop design, but admittedly, a little bit dated in 2026 and lacks the unique vibe of some other independent coffee shops. Window views facing the strip mall parking lot don't create much of an ambiance either. With that said, design is not the main thing to come here for. The coffee is excellent and priced very reasonably, offering a great value for an establishment of this sort. There is easy to access WiFi and an overall feeling of being welcomed. A solid little coffee shop that allows customers to support some local business owners instead of a big chain.

I actually ordered it "half sweet," to cut down on the sugar, and thought it was perfect. Called Coffee has some interesting flavors and specialty drinks. Price: Decent - typical coffee shops prices. Atmosphere: It's airy with lots of natural light - a great place to work, study,or catch up with friends. There's a large table that could fit a small group. Service: Baristas were friendly. She actually brought my drink to my table on the last visit rather than just calling my name. I actually wasn't expecting that, but appreciated it. *Just a fun note: I've stumbled across a recently launched Called Coffee podcast and it's pretty good! Overall, check it out.

Employee was very helpful and pointed out the several teas on the menu, but then she said, "chocolate milk" and well, I just had to. You can't go wrong with chocolate milk. The only thing I didn't care for was the amount of ice cubes they put in it, but I understand why. Maybe next time I would ask for "easy on the ice". My friend ordered a pecan praline coffee and a pastry (forgot to ask what it was) and it looked fantastic. It was a happening place for a Saturday from 10 am - 12 pm - several customers coming and going and others staying to read, work, etc. Parking in the front was a little limited, but we both managed to find spaces. Even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I would definitely come back! Plenty of options and good service.

It ended up being perfect--sweet but not overly sweet, and really flavorful. I also signed up for their rewards program and got $5 off my first order, which was a nice bonus. I originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice, but ended up sitting inside. Next time I'll try to get there earlier to grab an outdoor spot. Nevertheless, we sat at one of the high tables and enjoyed our coffees. I noticed that they had one of the machines that dispense little art prints (Inciardi ?) but signs said they were out of stock. Too bad because they're very popular in New England and I had a great time searching for these machines and seeing what prints I'd get. I've started a collection. I'll come again for coffee, and hopefully will get pastries, and art prints.
