I'm so glad Calera finally has a fun, geeky coffee shop/bar/gaming shop! Decorated with themes from Harry Potter to the fantasy world of the Hobbit, this space has something for every geek. I've been a couple of times now, and I've enjoyed my experience each time. They offer brewed coffee and handcrafted espresso drinks, plus teas from local favorite Piper and Leaf. The atmosphere is very laid back. One side is the coffee shop side, with an eclectic collection of soft sofas and tables and chairs. If you go through an opening in the wall that looks very similar to the entrance of the dungeon, you'll find the gaming shop, an area for D and D players, and a bar that serves a limited selection of beer and wine. Ok, ok! At first glance, I definitely liked this place! This coffee house is just off of Route 65 in Calera, Alabama close to the center and town. We were greeted by a sweet, vocal, young lady Barista. Working alone and bustling, she made time to welcome us in and inform us of a bit of a wait (very cool). We, immediately felt comfortable with comfy couches and big armchairs across from the seating area. The decor is an antique farmhouse type theme with a nice transition to the coffee counter. Across from the bar is a couple of partitioned cubbies spots furnished with couches and a large screen TVs. Towards the back is a separate room with a long table for group meetings and offers the common coffeehouse board games. The decor is simple but cozy. Devin, the barista, was obviously multitasking and she was not shy about apologizing for the wait. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I went with the "Everything" on the croissant. As pictured, it was cold cuts of ham and turkey with cheese, bacon and a heated egg patty. It is then pressed and served. I definitely have had better but I was hungry. The coffee is just okay. I came here on a Saturday afternoon after having lunch with my family. I was really tired and needed a pick me up. Upon entering , there was no other customers inside but some workers and their friends. I was greeted nicely and my order was promptly taken. The set up here is unique and has the feel of an adventurer with maps being presented throughout the establishment. There was a comfortable set up with sofas , tv, etc.... really relaxed. My hot vanilla latte was ok but nothing special - it actually had a different taste but certainly hit the spot. This coffee shop offers breakfast/ lunch and an array of pastries. I'm excited I got to try this place out because it's a great addition to downtown Calera, Al. I plan to return and try more things on their menu! Service was friendly and fast! read more

We were looking for a place to cool off between ballgames and charge our devices. We appreciated the soft background music and there was plenty of seating- couches, tables & chairs, barstools, etc. I had a bacon cheese breakfast croissant that was delicious but my favorite was the fruity lemonade. First time here and what a cool spot! Our drinks were delicious, my mom is a real picky coffee drinker but she even loved it!!! Now has a bar on the other side! That connects to the business that's beside it. Also has plenty of parking outback and in the front of the store. We will be back here for sure! ive waited until now to try your place. And I wish I never had tried it. Besides being completely dark inside and being the only person wearing a mask (including the 2 employee's), the smoothie I ordered was terrible. I asked specifically for a sweet strawberry banana smoothie with no protein powder. She told me no problem and that it would be sweet. During the making process I hear the women tell another women they are out of strawberry mix and bananas. The other women instructs her to use a different mix. When she brings it to me she presented it as a Strawberry banana smoothie. I go to the car to deliver my daughter her smoothie that is a really strange color. It was Awful. I'm assuming she used green mix with strawberries and nothing sweet?!? $8 for something that was not at all what I asked for and went straight in the garbage. read more

Service was good. We got a Carmel brûlée latte. It was lukewarm and tasted like straight sugar and milk. Took it home and added coffee to it, because I couldn't taste any at all. I gave this new coffee shop two chances. On my first visit I stopped for a quick to-go cup and found several people sitting around socializing. One separated himself from the group to take my order and make my coffee, which was just OK. He was not friendly and seemed anxious to return to his friends. On my second visit, I put my laptop on a table and left my coat on a chair while I placed my order -- thus indicating that I planned to stay a while. While waiting, another person walked in from a back area, inquiring "Did I hear someone come in?" The barista indicated me, whereupon the new person looked straight through me and made no sign of welcome or even acknowledging my existence. When my coffee and warm pastry was ready, I was handed my pastry in a paper bag, indicating that I wasn't welcome to stay. I left. I won't be back. read more

amazing coffee! we're texas based (sadly) and we came across this store on reddit actually! we checked them out and bought two bags and WOW they're awesome! we could smell the grounds through the postage packaging i'm sure that was a nice surprise for our mail lady. also our cats love the bags and we love the creativity of the bag design so we'll be keeping them since they love to rub on them LOL! great coffee keep up the great work, you just got yourselves two more loyal customers (and their cats) read more

So I ordered 2 coffees for me and my friend and basically both coffees were completely wrong, I had ordered 2 large caramel frappes with chocolate chips and I ended up getting a medium I think and it was mocha not caramel and I didn't expect I was paying extra for the chocolate chips when there was only 5 chocolate chips on top of the whipped cream which was a waste of my money and this is my first time buying from here so I didn't really like it in my opinion, the coffee was OK but I didn't like it as much so maybe next time they'll get my coffee right read more
