What brought me to Blue Water Yachting was that I had received a phone call from some friends…read moreadvising that they would be bringing their boat into Bahia Mar Marina prior to doing a Caribbean cruise and wanted me, for security reasons, to be the one to ask around about additional staffing. As soon as I walked in the door, though I had inadvertently entered through the back door, I was warmly greeted and rather impressed with the general bright décor and setup of their offices. I was also impressed to find out that they could handle all of my friends needs as they maintain a data base of over 100,000 professional crew with crew agents in various separate departments that would specialize in selecting those best suited for a particular yacht. I passed the information on to my friends for them to finalize any details, which they did, and have been advised that they couldn't have been more pleased. As I'm sure that the staff at Bluewater were aware that was an amateur handling such affairs, matters such as these are generally handled by a yacht's captain, they clearly went out of their way to accommodate me. They not only answered all of my questions but also advised me on a few points that I should have had questioned but failed to ask. I was also interested in the size of their operations, which are really big. They not only assist with crew placement but also handle yacht brokerage, are a yacht-training provider in Europe, have operations in Antibes, France, Mallorca, Spain, Moscow and Miami. Then, if you intend to have a Yacht designed and constructed, they offer new construction management. So no matter your needs when it comes to larger yachts, particularly those of the super or mega yacht categories, Bluewater seems to have you covered.

If you're thinking about booking a sailing or yachting adventure, i would strongly encourage you to book elsewhere as these people are awful human beings and have a terrible concept of customer service.

Rented a Rinker Q3 from 100 Pro Boats in February 2024 for the day while I was on vacation…read more Showed up a little early to complete all the paperwork and then went out back to check out the boat and hit the water. The staff member was great, very informative and very helpful. He explained a few things of importance before we left the dock. I have 20+ years boating experience, so I was a quicker learner on the boat controls than most. We hit the water and toured around the inter coastal for a bit, then hit the open water. It was windy and rough outside the cruise port so we opted to return to calmer waters. We drove around and found a cool little sandbar and docked there for the rest of the day and had fun swimming and eating. There was even a food boat on the water that would bring food right to your boat. Think floating food truck. Overall the day was great, the rental boat was great, the weather was great and the staff and location was great. I would most definitely rent a boat from 100 Pro Boats again next time I'm in south Florida.

We searched the internet for options, and came upon Michael at 100 pro boats. We booked very last minute and he was able to accommodate and the booking process was quick and easy. His boat was perfectly maintained and in pristine condition. He gave us the instructions, and kept them thorough yet simple to understand. He gave us great recommendations, for places to stop and things to see and he was so friendly to my two children. You can tell Michael is a wealth of knowledge about the area and he is very passionate about what he does. I knew we were in great hands and I couldn't have asked for a better day on the water. That's $700/month for a 25 footer on the Gold Plan, which includes a quarterly detail, a wash at every launch, unlimited launches, 24 hour marina access, and free engine flushes after every launch. The other plans have fewer features. Some parts of the yard are really starting to look run down, docks look OK. Seems to be staffed by Millennial potheads that do not understand business or customer service.

First, you will notice all of the good reviews are older ones (well, except for the 5 star review left by Chris Partridge, the new owner). Back before it was sold, the marina was family owned, and they treated all of it's customers like family. I would have happily given a 5 star review back then, it was an amazing place to keep the boat. In December of 2020, the marina was purchased by Partridge Equity Group. My nightmare started in July of 2021, when they refused to launch my boat, claiming that they had "lost" their billing records (I was on autopay). At no point did they even attempt to contact me, this time claiming they "lost" their customer contact information. When I attempted to pay them, they attempted to charge late fees and a "retroactive billing increase", including late fees and billing increases for months that I had paid in full, totaling thousands of dollars. For 3 months, I attempted to help them reconcile their "lost" accounting records, and even had to send them all of my credit card statements, not once, but twice. Every time I would make progress with one of the new "site managers", they would quit or be fired. The employees refused to provide contact information for the owners, but eventually I was able to hunt down an email address on my own from the owners public LinkedIn profile. To make a long story short, after making contact with the owner, it became painfully aware that they had no intention of resolving the issue, and I was forced to take them to court to get my boat back. After the successful court settlement, I attempted to pick up the boat. The marina refused to put my boat on my trailer (the previous owners had done this for me dozens of times in the 6 years I was there). I gave them back my gate key, and asked for them to return my boat keys. Par for the course, they refused to give me my boat keys, claiming they "lost them". I used my spare set, and was directed to go find a public ramp.

I made the mistake of hiring Kurt in February of 2023. The 2006 Lazzara 74' I was purchasing was…read moreway outside his normal small boat experience and as his survey proves, he simply did not understand the systems he was surveying. He never even looked in the aft bilge at the badly leaking steering pump ($2500 fix) and the rusted through hydraulic platform pump ($6100 fix excluding labor), during the sea trial he didn't understand the stabilizers were not functioning ($5400 fix) but the most important thing he missed was the completely empty, discharged main cylinder of the fire suppression system that was electronically bypassed to prevent the alarm from sounding and allowing the engines to start. It also had a 2017 inspection tag (5 years past required inspection). Additionally he noted two of the three-cylinder system were undersized on their own, literally proving in writing he did not remotely understand the actuator/time delay nature of this system. At $10,000 this was his most expensive mistake but it's more than that. He made a solid point of showing me two $39 fire extinguishers that were slightly undercharged, one would think a single pic of the mail cylinder gauge would be standard, as it's the one thing any insurance company would want to see. On this aspect alone I strongly considered litigation. If there's one thing a surveyor should understand its fire suppression systems and Kurt was clearly way out of this depth. Considering Kurt cost me $24,000 in total I gave him the chance to make it right with a deal on resurveying now that I've fixed these problems. He was completely unrepentant and quoted $2500 for a second, in-water survey (and the first survey was way overpriced at $4000) No deal, no sympathy. I also found out after the survey he is not a current SAMS and NAMS member, not something he made a point of telling me in advance. When I questioned him about it he said it was a non-issue and blew it off.
