Fantastic experience. Totally worth it over renting a camper and driving it in. Driver did a great job setting it up and pointing out the features. Some tips for renters: 1) We used most of the clean water just washing dishes. 2 nights and no showers and we just about ran out of water. Don't wash dishes. 2) Bring a mattress pad unless you like sleeping on basically a wooden board with a 4 inch foam that compresses to an uncomfortable hardness. read more

I would highly recommend nobody use this hostile company for anything!! What kind of a company gets to a campsite hours before the allowed check in time and long before my check out time then very hostily forces me out of my site 20 minutes early?! Scott from your company had already set up tons of chairs, firewood and other things in my site while my truck was still parked there. I was out for a walk and came back to him walking away from my site. He then got into his truck and tried to back the camper into my site blocking me in. I had to lay on my horn to get him to stop, then had a very uncomfortable hostile confrontation with Scott, who would not move for me forcing me to drive the wrong way down a one way. I'll be sure to tell anyone visiting the area to steer clear of this awful company. read more

We rented from AIC in 2019 and had the trailer delivered to the Upper Deadman camping area near Mammoth Lakes. We planned to return to Upper Deadman in June 2022 with a large group and booked the campground in June 2021. We then reached out to AIC to confirm that they could deliver to Upper Deadman - their response: "And yes, our drivers know where that campground is and we park there several times throughout the season, so no issues there at all!" Based upon that written confirmation, we booked our trailer, excited to enjoy the Upper Deadman area with our friends. About a month later, AIC reached out to us and indicated they did not get approval from the Forest Service to deliver trailers to the Upper Deadman area (other areas were not approved as well). We are disappointed because a month has passed and alternatives have been booked up, but we can understand that permitting is outside of AIC's control. What really rubs us the wrong way is that they said we owed them a $100 cancelation fee. When we pointed out that we weren't the ones canceling, they are, they said no - we can still keep the trailer reservation, we just need to have it delivered somewhere else. Only after multiple emails and a phone call did AIC give us our $100 back. In doing so, they made clear to us that the refund was an exception and that this issue was essentially our fault because we didn't buy trip insurance. While I appreciate the exception, I think it is incumbent upon anyone making a reservation to confirm that AIC has the legal authority to deliver the trailer to the location of your choosing. If not, you run the risk of losing your cancelation fee. Note that the cancelation fee is $100 up to 30 days prior to your reservation -- after that, there is no refund whatsoever. We will not be using AIC again. I think they have demonstrated they either don't know what they are doing or are dishonest -- perhaps both. read more

I love this concept in Camping. You get to enjoy all aspects of camping without most of the hassle of loading your RV, driving hundreds of miles, parking it and setting up. BEWARE!!!!! This place is unbelievable with its return policy. I rented a trailer and they made me pay $625 well in advance of my trip. Then the Forrest service closed all forests for the days I had scheduled to camp. Therefore I was unable to go camping at that time and Adventures in camping was unable to deliver the camper. When I called them to ask about a refund several times over several days, they did not answer the phone or return my messages. As a result they kept my $625 for a trailer there were unable to deliver due to closures. I do not see how it is either legal or ethical for a buisness to keep your money for services they can not provide. How do they expect to keep returning customers doing business this way. read more

We have been using AIC 2 -3 times a year for over 15 years and have had a great experience each and every time. The trailers are delivered clean and totally equipped as advertised. during our stays at different times, we have encountered rain, snow, wind and hot weather and in each the trailer operated perfectly for the conditions. For us, we find renting a trailer is less expensive than a motel or hotel, more convenient (your right where you want to be) and definitely more comfortable than being outside or in a tent. In 2018 while out fishing, we had a bear rip the entrance door off the hinges and claw up a few things in the trailer. We called AIC when we got back that afternoon and they immediately sent out a crew, cleaned and repaired the damage. In 2020, while we were sleeping, we had a bear tear off the screen and one of the side windows reach in the trailer and take a loaf of bread we had sitting on the table. We called AIC that morning and while we were fishing that day they came out and repaired the damage and replaced the screen and window. On another trip, during a snowstorm, without calling them, they came out shoveled the snow off the top of the trailer and cleaned the solar receptors for the batteries so that we had no interruption in service. Everyone we have encountered at AIC has been cordial and accommodating during all of our stays. If you are thinking about a vacation anywhere in the Mammoth area, I highly recommend Adventures in Camping. Jim D. read more

This was my first time camping and I will say Adventure in Camping made it seamless. I enjoyed the fact that the trailer was picked up and dropped off for me. They provided a time window for both and were in that time. They were very responsive to any and all questions I had prior and during my trip (I couldnt find the water heater switch). The trailer itself was good. You have to bring your own everything, sheets, towels, pillows, etc. but i was aware of that so it wasnt a big deal. I am so disappointed in the price gouging of this place. I tried to find other places that delivered to Mammoth but this was the only place I could find- they have a monopoly and clearly take advantage of that in their prices. We have rented numerous trailers before from others and I have never had a bad experience- until AIC. Most places do NOT charge for a generator, this place charges 55 dollars A NIGHT, plus you pay for the fuel. Our trailer smelled like smoke, and we had to drive to the drugstore late in the night to get Benadryl because nobody could sleep with the smoke. We let them know, and we got a "sorry about that- but we don't think it really smells like smoke" response from the company. In total, with all the charges, we paid more that an 5 star hotel total (to camp!), and our trailer had broken curtains, and was OLD. Next time we visit Mammoth, we will be tent camping. read more

The trailer arrived with in the time specified. It was clean and trouble free. The toilet paper holder was broken when the trailer arrived but that's a very small if insignificant thing. I do wish the check out time was a little later then 9:30am though. But besides that we had a great time. I would definitely rent again from Adventure in Camping and would recommend them to friends and family. read more

Last year I rented a trailer for a camping trip my friends and I have every year in Mammoth. I paid months in advance the full amount of $447.33 for the weekend and was informed by Stephanie of their strict cancellation policy. The Caldor fire trapped my friends and evacuations prevented them from coming.  I called Stephanie and she was non empathic and stuck to her cancellation policy. I was going to go by myself so I wouldn't loose my money, but the day I was to leave my father-in-law died.  The customer care people offered no remedy and stuck to their policy.  I was told the owner would contact me, that never happened. They kept my money and are ignoring my emails.  All I asked for was a discounted rate for the following year.  Renters Beware.  This is not a friendly company, rather heartless. Adventure in Camping wrote back: While we understand things happen and situations arise. Having said all that, I will make an exception and offer a credit on a future stay.  I will note a $100 credit that will expire at the close of our season in 2022, usually the 3rd of October. I just called to reserve a trailer for this year, they refused to do business with me and they won't honor or refund the $100 credit. DO NOT TRUST OR DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. read more

The drivers are total jerks moving around the trailers. The guy forced me to move/park/reverse/reposition to let him get by (on a totally open one way loop with full visibility and more than enough room in the right lane. Had an attitude and hand gestures for a tiny car parked off to the left of the pavement. Literally chose to steer to get directly behind me instead of using the open road. He had already hitched and was cruising. Truly just chose to drive up to my car and mess with me. Creeper vibes big time. read more

We just wanted to note a few items on the trailer because we were not able to meet with a representative of yours in person at the campsite when the trailer was dropped off and picked up. 1. The drawer that holds the oven mits (to the right of the kitchen sink) is broken and in need of repair. 2. There were no blinds or privacy shade on the main window above the table so we had to tape a towel to the window. 3. The blinds next to the double bed are in terrible shape and barely operable. 4. The outside shade awning droops on left side above the main door. So much so that when you open and close the doors to the trailer in gets in the way. We were disappointed in the condition of the trailer considering the price. read more

'Rented an RV for 9 day stay at June Lake. Everything was perfect: delivery, set-up, condition, cleanliness! We had one small problem with our stove, and a service tech was there within five minutes to assist. We did require a pump-out mid-week, and that cost approx $75, which was well worth it to us for all of the convenience. This was my first RV camping trip, and it was very relaxing. I would definitely use AIC again. They were very communicative during and after our booking. 'Seems like they understand tourism and customer service at every level. read more

I would be very hesitant to ever use these guys again. Recent forest closures are of course unforeseen circumstances but for a company to not offer a rain check for pre paid rentals (noted that it says "may"offer rain check for forest closure in their terms) because there are a few private campgrounds currently still opened but fully reserved, is rather absurd. If you do chose to use this company, don't choose to pay in full as they will take your money and run if there is a circumstance that prevents you from being able to camp. Bad business practice = word of mouth to so many. read more

This was my first time using Adventure In Camping and their communication was extremely poor. We were never informed the trailer had been dropped off or where the keys were, we relied on the campsite host to inform us. When I tried to contact Adventure in camping, their voice message informed me they were closed at 4:00 p.m. and I should leave a message and this applied to all urgent matters. Sorry but if there was an emergency with the trailer we should be able to speak to someone, not leave a message and hope someone returns our call. In addition, the trailer was filthy. The linoleum floors looked as if they have never been mopped which I would expect especially during the Covid pandemic. The metal steps to enter the trailer were so flimsy and on their last leg I thought they were going to break every time we stepped on them, not to mention where they parked the trailer was above rocks so if the steps broke we would have ended up with a steep fall onto large rocks. I won't be renting again, they charge you for everything and the quality in return is not worth it. read more

I've been coming to the eastern sierra's for years, and I have been using Adventure In Camping for a lot of those years. There customer service has just been outstanding and continues to even get better. Your trailers are rentals and it cracks me up how people comment on dumb little things, if you don't like it then get a tent Haha...!! Stephanie and all of the staff always makes you feel like you're the only customer! On our recent trip to Silver lake The winds were blowing so hard that it moved our trailer and the jacks needed to be adjusted, so I called the office and they dispatched the delivery man back quickly, and fixed everything to our liking, and smiled the whole time, and made us feel safe. I love the fact that I just have to call and they deliver. There's not a lot of companies out there that can do that. What a fun, easy, and inexpensive experience! I heard about this service during a The Fred Hall sportsman show. After a look over the website, a call to a friend who had used Adventures in Camping, and then a call to their office I knew this was the experience we were looking for. We made a trip to the Mammoth Lakes area in Sep. 2018 and used A.I.C. To provide the fantastic trailer. The process is really easy. Pick a trailer that suits your needs, pick the add ons that you want to accommodate your trailer / trip (generator, BBQ, extra tables, chairs, etc.) book a camp site, and they take care of the rest. You drive up to your Campsite and a killer, fully loaded trailer, (water, pots, pans, utensils etc.) awaits you. No hassle, no towing, no dumping, no problems! It's Awesome!!! My fiancé & I (and our 1yr old lab) are relatively new to the Mammoth area, making 3 or 4 trips in the last 2 seasons. We had been staying in hotels, cabins, air b&b etc. and we're looking for more of a wilderness experience, but still wanting comfort. Because we were unfamiliar with all the different camp grounds, our trip was a little different than most. We picked out our trailer and extra amenities on the website. Paid the inexpensive total, then had the trailer "on hold". After several great phone calls with the front office of A.I.C. Telling them the type of campground we were dreaming of, they gave us a list of options, they felt best suited our wants. We drove up to Mammoth early checked out their list of camp sites and when we found the one that was perfect for us, we made one last call to the office, and 20 minutes later or home away from home was set into place by Chris (who was awesome). They drop off, level out the trailer, and go over all the ins and outs of basic operation. The water tanks were full, the generator was topped off, holding tanks were empty and as quick as he came, Chris was gone and there we were. Camping with a luxury trailer alongside a rolling creek in the middle of the woods with big trees surrounding us. Absolutely perfect! As a bonus our campground was on our Public Lands, and didn't even have a campsite fee!!! We had such a good time we chose to stay an extra night (which again they were very accommodating). Also, even though we didn't really need it, they came and emptied the holding tank and topped us off with more freshwater. When the trip was over, we reluctantly packed up the car and headed back down the hill. With such a low cost, Adventures in Camping is a no brainer. No trailer payment, no storage payment, no maintenance cost, no towing, just family fun with no hassle. I would highly recommend this service to anyone and will absolutely be using them for future trips! read more

Adventure in camping was highly recommended by a friend so we decided to give it a shot. We dealt with Stephanie and WOW she is so incredibly nice, this was the easiest booking we had ever done, they are available 7 days a week in case we had questions which was so nice. The day came we went to our camp site and shortly after arriving our trailer arrived and it was so nice oh and our delivery guy (I forgot his name sorry) he was so so so very nice and helpful. We ended up farting the newest model of their trailers which was so worth it, they included everything just like our own personal hotel room on wheels it was perfect my kids loved it. Before going here we tried renting an RV and a trailer elsewhere and omg apart from the price they charge you for using their generator per hour and this place didn't charge us I don't know if it was included in our package but it was so nice. I was so impressed with their customer service the simplicity in booking, and communication we will definitely be using them again and again and again. Their trailers are wide ranging and the most recent experience is as expected although our 30 ft slide out trailer ( ~7 year old) may need some maintenance such as shower leaks, missing blind strips in the bedroom, bent couch, and non-functional stove top igniter had caused some inconvenience. We have rented from AC for 4 years now and last week was the worst experience we have ever had with an employee. I'm not sure of his name, he was older with grey hair and a beard. He is MEAN!!! He pretty much yelled at my husband and father-in-law when he was delivering our trailer...they were only trying to help him back in the space which took him about 40 mins because he didn't know what he was doing. When he came to pick up the trailer he didn't even speak to us. We still had some things to take out of it so he waited by the dumpster. My husband took trash to the dumpster and over heard him telling his partner that he told some customer off and that if he had a problem with him that they can take it out of the park. Seriously what a jerk. When he left he never said a word he just drove away with the trailer. I'm really sad this happened because I loved this company. :( read more

Adventure in camping is a company we have been using for over 30 years. The last few years the service and trailer have really took a turn for the worst. This last year we needed several trailer for a family reunion and booked 6months in advance. When the covid hit we immediately contacted them with what the policy would be for cancelation. Stephanie reassured us that this would not be necessary. We continued to contact them as time went on and they continued to reassure us that canceling was not necessary. Not once were we contacted by them. All correspondence was on our end. When we finally felt there would be no chance of our trip was going to be possible they refused a refund. All other area lodging has refunded all of there patrons but them. Terrible people with no conscious. We will never be back and I encourage others to use sime5of the smaller outfitters in mammoth. read more

We rented a trailer for our camping trip in Mammoth Lakes. Stephanie was super helpful throughout the entire process. The trailer was in great condition, very comfortable bed, and we enjoyed the convenience of having it dropped off at our campsite with our bundles of wood. James set us up, great customer service (wore his mask entire time :), and super friendly. We even had a big mix-up with our site and Stephanie and team took care of us. I would give NO STARS if I could. I reserved their largest trailer with a cost of over $2400.00 paid in full in advance, and had to cancel my reservation because the trip was postponed. I cancelled 29 days before the day of delivery and Shannon Dore (the owner) will not refund any of my payment because of her 30 days notice of cancellation. Wow! What a great way to make a quick $2400.00!! I hope your happy Shannon! ONE DAY over her Policy and she won't give anything back. I would never treat a customer like that.
