I've since had a change of employment and need to shorten my visit there. Per campground policy clearly stated online, credits or refunds aren't given for cancellations on holiday weekends. I'm available for the weekend, and submitted a request for credits for the non-holiday nights so I can use them in the future, per policy. Dave (who claimed to be owner, then clarified as Gen Mgr) denied my request... claims this cannot be done. I asked what would happen if someone had a lengthy reservation like weeks or maybe a month ... would they be locked into the entirety because a holiday fell within their dates?? He said no, they wouldn't; that's different. And he declined to afford me any means of contacting someone else (such as the owner) so that I could request ... "they won't be back for weeks anyways", he said. Please, per policy, I am keeping my nonrefundable non creditable weekend nights (3), would like to have the non-holiday nights (4) issued as a credit for a future stay. Dave has been ineffective in explaining to me why it's impossible for me to do this ... but is certainly possible for someone else in same situation.

(They have only had the place for two years and reviews prior to that don't reflect how the place is managed now) They have an old swing set and paddle boats you have to clean and drain out water yourself before using. The pond is disgusting! That's it for entertainment for kids. Quiet time is at 10pm unless they decide to do karaoke, then quiet time is when ever the owners decide to put down the alcoholic drinks and stop keeping everyone up (12am usually). The only area you can access the pong is their poor make shift "beach" and the broken dock, every other area is a camp spot so don't bring adventurous kids. Who want to catch wild life Dirty showers.. So disappointing! Worst camping experience our family has ever had.. From arrival to departure. The ice cream truck drove through the camp ground it was our youngest sons first time, the owner came out of the trailer ("office") and said "we have ice cream for sale in here you know" I responded politely "Oh, well it's his first time and it's the ice cream truck so we're excited". He then responded "well that's the last fuking time they drive through my camp ground".. JUST WOW!

It is VERY much off the beaten path and once you turn on Somerset Rd., it's a good 3 or 4 mile drive to get to the general parking, picnic area near the water. Oh yeah, the road isn't paved either so it's best to have a 4x4 or some sort of vehicle with tires that can handle the trek. The general parking area is a decent size, there are a few picnic tables and a port-a-potty which was surprisingly clean. The reservoir itself is huge and great for kayaking or canoeing, neither of which we did, but I did see quite a few people there enjoying themselves on the water. There is one general walking direction which takes you to several different hiking paths and there is even a cute little bridge overlooking a beautiful stream. It had rained that morning and with leaves falling, the trails were a little slippery at points, but nothing that made me feel unsafe. I'd definitely recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots of some kind. Between the group of us, we had 3 dogs and none of them were on a leash; people really didn't seem to care and everyone was friendly. The dogs enjoyed swimming in the water and I enjoyed looking at it. I'd most definitely go back to Somerset Reservoir with a camera and a light lunch to kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

I did a deep dive on this place as all I could find on the internet were many mixed reviews. I am a hardcore planner and this trip forced and allowed me to chill out about that as I had to detach from that mindset and literally surrender to the flow. With little to find online about what the actual inside of the campground looks like and some negative reviews I was skeptical but reassured by some of the good ones and after talking to a friend that has been before. I booked online and communication was efficient and I was able to pay on the portal ahead of time and provide my vehicle information to make check-in smoother. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Lee's after spending my weekend there, the park staff was so awesome, the vibes were great, there was parking along the dirt pathed roads that ran through the park, and a band called The Reality Check Experiment even played pre and post-show sets on the park's stage and even a little shakedown too. My only two qualms were purely trivial as the phone service specifically at night was difficult (but if you're with your people you really don't need your phone at all) and the first shuttle left at 5PM each night, so if you're looking to hit the lot and have some time to take it slow there or get in to the venue real early, I'd recommend carpooling with a group or taking an Uber and taking the shuttle back. Shoutout Mandy btw! This place rocks so hard, it was a total extension of the shows and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I hope you ignore all the poor, outdated reviews from people that don't know how to camp and whose problems with the park were just user error and freaking send it like I did too.

Don't plan on being able to leave with your car at any point or you will not have a spot. Organization and facilities were inadequate or non-existent. Limited to no cell service. Bathrooms are nice which is great especially if you are tenting, though they are only cleaned on a semi-regular basis. Laundry room only has one washer and dryer but are in good condition. There's also a handy small convenience store. Management unfortunately is another story. The son is good, however the mother is not. Seemed evident she made a passive-aggressive effort to make the stay less than pleasurable which was apparent from reservation through checkout, and jumps to all kinds of conclusions. Like she was somehow inconvenienced or put out and also doesn't listen well as a result. She's certainly glad when you leave. She repeatedly does a very poor job of even the most basic accounting and dates, but somehow you're the one at fault. She also gets way too wound up and in your business should you dare have a visitor (like holy smokes, lady, chill out), and nosy in general. She's the only thing that brings the place down, otherwise they'd easily be 4-5 stars. :(
