Unfortunately, I can't review on that as I just come in for the vegetarian options. The customer service was amazing. They're super friendly. Since COVID-19, the hours have varied.

The owner defaces vintage books and falsifies pricing…read more He deliberately blacked out the price on the cover, and numbers of the UPC barcode on the back, then stamped the inside and wrote in a new price: "$9.99 Org." I know he wrote it because I've seen other books there with that same handwriting. All his fantasy paperbacks are supposed to be 50% off original cover price. He charged me $5.67, but the real cover price that was inked out was $4.95 US. I was a loyal customer until those deceptive tactics. Makes you wonder how often he does this with other books and customers, doesnt it?! I'm taking my business elsewhere, and I suggest you do too.

It's very small (about 500 sqft, 2 rooms of books) with a jazzercise studio in the back. They have nice antique settees in both rooms. $2 for paperback and $4 for hardcover. The guy in the front was very kind. Since they have a jazzercise studio in the back, I think they should do speakeasy events there for book lovers since they have a nice enclosed parking- Bridgeton High Tea..., twilight dinners...A You marathon... Hunger Games costume party.... crafting with books.. I've never read Twilight, but since I was just in Oregon, I have to read or watch the twilight series now, but they did not have the book. They take donations so if anyone wants to donate twilight, lemme know! I had exactly $6 cash so I got myself a C.I.A. cookbook (Culinary Institute of America) because I collect cookbooks. Anthony Bourdain, Roy Choi (I ate at his restaurant, Best Friend in Las Vegas) & Grant Achatz (I dream of one day eating at his Michelin Starred restaurant, Alinea in Chicago) graduated from C.I.A. I also got a brand new paperback from Target- Love, Naturally. I am a little behind on my reading because life has taken me on a hell of a ride this year.

It's unbelievable how much she fits in the space. She hosts book events, usually with a food truck or two and other vendors. I could go on and on about the gift type things they carry. I've also bought gift certificates. Most recently I messaged her and she had it ready for me when I stopped by on my way to the office. They also carry cards so it was perfect! The selection itself is huge. it's a two story bookstore. The individul sections or genres seem well stocked. Although the Horror section from what I saw was severely lacking most likely due to it perhaps being the biggest selling genre for them? The books themselves are in varying condition from Like New to Fair. I personally found some incredibly good looking books. Their prices are a big selling point for me, very fair and they run a 25% off mass market paperbacks. With all the positives, there's one negative I want to address and thats their trade in credit system. To be honest, It's pretty shady. They give you a great price on your trade-ins if they're good books, in good condition. Howevet, theres one big catch: You can't use that credit outright to simply pay for a book or two. They hold your credit hostage (for the books you gave them that they are going to resell and make a profit on) and you must either (A.) Spend the exact amount in cash that you have credit for in order to use that full line of credit, or you can (B.) spend under that amount and only be allowed to use half of your existing credit. You see, that way they have you on the hook. They got your books. They got your credit, and they're going to get your money too, by forcing you to pay just to gain access to your own credit. I was told by an employee "We have to do that or else we wouldn't make any money, we'd be just trading books for books." But thats not true at! They price them for a profit when they resell them. There are other ways to make the same amount of profit, perhaps more without the shady (and frankly unfair to the customer) business tactics. They could not have the 25% off mass market paperbacks discount. They could give a little less credit for trade-ins. They could raise their prices slightly. They could let their customers have full access to their credit without these special conditions that limit and punish the customer. They benefit at the customers expense in this way, and it is unethical, regardles if it is legal. The moral gray zone is real here. So, I learned my lesson and will not be doing trade-in business with them any longer. I might continue to shop there, but I'm paying cash, so long as the prices remain low. All in all, it's a good bookstore, but I dont like their business practices very much. For now, I still recommend, just don't do trade-ins.

Not only did they point me in that direction but they showed me some popular items of things I probably would have overlooked. They have a great mix of toys, books, crafts, stuffies, educational, etc for all ages. They definitely carry unique items as compared to some basic toys like you'd find at Target or Walmart. It's like a miniature version of Toys R Us (for those of us who were around for that!). Things may be on the pricier side, but to find everything you need gift wise in one spot, may be worth it! Or what fun (maybe overwhelming fun) would it be for a kiddo to get a gift card to a place like this! Caution on that, because I truly don't know if I'd bring my 3.5 year old in here. I love Friends of the Library! It's one of my favorite places to browse for used books…read more For a small space, it has a great selection of used books, often including the latest books or popular books. They're usually in good quality and for the lowest prices I've ever seen. They also have a good amount of children's books. I remember being able to fill my own classroom library with children's picture books and novels that would cost anywhere from $0.25 to $1.00. I was like omg, these are so cheap! It really gave me the impression that they just want to put books in your hands. Just of how little they charged. Sometimes, they'll have events where you could fill a big bag for just a few bucks. It's very considerate of teachers and avid readers. I believed in them so much, we finally took down our book shelf and donated all of our books, including hardcovers, to them because I knew they would be able to get it into the hands of our community. I think the funds they make keep their bookstore going and help with local events. So bottom line, if you enjoy browsing through used book shops like me, this is a must stop. :)
