My husband and I are regular record store fanatics. If we see a cool shop, we can't pass it by. On a recent visit to this quaint little town, on National Record Store day, we made a special trip to Velouria Records. It was one of the highlights of our trip. They have a super cool window display, wide aisles and a well-organized system for viewing records. Not to mention a fantastic selection of albums. You can tell they put a lot of thought into their curation and buying of unique and in-demand titles. The pricing was also very fair as well as some bargains that made the hunting extra fun. We walked out with a nice haul that will enhance our eclectic record collection. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how friendly and cool the people running the shop were. They were also playing some excellent vintage jams. The best part of our visit here was a young teen that was turned on to Aretha Franklin for the first time. If that doesn't make the record store experience all worthwhile, I don't know what does. read more

They carry a large selection of tapes and CD's. The posters all over the wall make it a really cool place for photos. The owners Tawnya & Adam will sit and talk music with you all day. The records and CDs are not only reasonably priced, they are in fantastic condition cleaned thoroughly and, so your used record can go straight from Velouria to your turntable! Velouria takes great care of their inventory. Adam and Tawnya are super friendly, kind and helpful as they really know their stuff. Great used vinyl selection and a pretty darn good new selection also. Picked up a few old standards and a killer new otis redding classic. Another thing I like is that the guy behind the counter didn't have that I know everything about music and your taste sucks attitude you get at some record joints. Even looked through the used cds and found some gems. I will deffenently be back. read more

Pretty good shop, has a very big selection of vinyl! Plenty of rock vinyl and C.D.'s. The selection is alright, there wasn't any metal there from what I saw. Not really a store that carries very heavy music. But good nonetheless! The staff are awesome and friendly! I after I bought my things, I ended up talking to the cashier for about an hour. This is a great record store. Tons of vinyl, nicely organized, and all for a fair price. Additionally, it is by far the cleanest record store I have ever been to. They also clean, sleeve, and grade every record before selling. I like that the prices are adjusted according to the record's condition. This does not happen at all record stores. I have to disagree with the other reviewer a bit. First of all, the shop does have CDs. They mostly have used CDs. According to the shop owner, the store is moving to used CDs and away from new CDs. They also carry tapes, posters, patches, pins, and all kinds of other music related memorabilia. With this being said, it is primarily a record store. The majority of what they have is records. I have found some great CDs there though and for a very good price. They also have frequent live shows that are always free. I've seen some very cool bands there before. This is a great place to shop and hang out. read more

Amazing store. I have been in 3 times in about a week. Amazing selection of records CDs and cassettes. The staff is friendly and are always willing to help people and will even call you when something is in stock. They are always playing music and it just feels like a nice place to be at. For such a large selection they always seem to know what they have. I appreciate that if they don't have the vinyl you are looking for (which is rare), they will get it for you. I just started getting into vinyl about 4 months ago. I heard about this place from a friend and now I can't stop giving these guys my money. The selection is pretty good from the oldies classics to the newer bands and artist of today. I have also found some new music that I never would have been introduced to had it not been for this place. I love going to Velouria Records and finding a new album i have never heard of before then going home to give it a spin realizing I just found a new treasure. I love the prices! The quality is good. However, all the brand new records that I bought were scratched. I tried to contact the store during hours, but never heard back. The service isn't the best in my opinion. There is one person that is really welcoming when you walk in.
