The chair was an old mid-century Danish piece that had been beat down to junkyard status. We went over fabric selections, padding, polishes and stains, as well as what to expect from the chair structurally once we got it back. We walked out with modest expectations, and hoped that the steep price would be worth it. And holy s**t did our socks get knocked off when we came back a week later to pickup our chair! It was like a brand new piece of furniture that had just rolled off the West Elm show room! The quality far exceeded our expectations, and was absolutely worth every penny. Even two months of being subjected to cat claws and general use, the chair still looks stunning. What was once destined for the scrap heap is now the centerpiece of the room!

I found Era 303 through one of those 50% off deal sites. Now normally I'm a deal-hopper because in…read moregeneral saving my family money is more important to me than being loyal to a particular company. In this case, though, my husband and I both agreed we'll pay full price with Era 303 next time rather than getting half off with another company. We spoke with Jesse M on the phone and via email to schedule and he was always just the most cheerful and polite guy. There was a big snowstorm the morning we had originally scheduled the cleaning and our street was impassable, but Jesse was able to reschedule for just 2 days later even though it was Christmas Eve. He arrived when he said he would, spent extra time on the many and varied stains in our upstairs loft (we really should quit eating up there), and left our carpet looking great. It was an all-round great experience, and we're totally satisfied with not only the results Jesse got but also (and at least as importantly!) with his good-natured attitude and work ethic. Highly recommended!

Best of all, they provide personalized service at a great price.

What happens when you attach fake airplane and flight patches with tape onto your leather coat…read morebecause you want to dress up as Maverick's girlfriend (Charlie) in Top Gun for Halloween? It goes terribly wrong. Yeah, I ruined my beautiful leather coat by simply taping on fake patches. So, I called tailors all over the city asking if they can repair it and all of them said, "Nope. It's ruined for good." But then, I remembered these miracle workers (Kate and Michael) at Diversified Repair Service in Englewood who had fixed my leather couch years ago. So, I called them! And guess what? My coat is like new again! They did an outstanding job - and even fixed other areas where the color was ruined. Thank you Kate and Michael! Next Halloween, I'll dress up as something else.

Our family room sofa, although about ten years old (and was expensive when we bought it), is in…read moregreat shape and has removable covers for the seat cushions. Seat cushions wear out over time, especially if you sit on them (go figure). Anyway, after looking around for someone who could make new cushion inserts for this sofa, I finally decided to try Cushion World (despite the lackluster reviews). I'm glad I did. They did a nice job. The type of cushion insert that I chose was definitely not cheap, but it mirrored the original type of cushion that came with the sofa when it was new. They have quite a few options of cushion material and firmness, so pricing will vary. Anyway, this was about a year ago that I had these cushions made. Overall, the process was less painless than I expected. The last time I had cushions made at another shop in another state, I had to leave my cushions and covers there for a couple of weeks until they could make mine. Needless to say that it's rather inconvenient not to have seat cushions on your sofa for that long. What happened with Cushion World was that I went to their shop one day mid-week and right after they opened (I highly recommend this) and brought my seat cushions with me. They measured the existing cushions while I was there, I chose the type of new cushion material and I went back home with my old cushions. They had to order some material for the cushion type I chose. When that came in (took about two weeks), they called me. I set up a day to bring in my old cushions (and covers) and I left them there for a few hours while they made the cushions that day. And then I went back and picked up the new cushions (with my old fabric covers on them) that same day. My sofa was only without their seat cushions for several hours, not the weeks like at the other business. As an upholstery business, they also have fabric if you need that. I don't know what kind of fabric my cushion covers came with when we bought the sofa, but it has held up remarkably well over the years and hasn't faded. As such, I can't attest to the fabric part of their business, but they do a nice job with the cushion part. I had no issues with their customer service while I was there in person, but it did seem to me that they may not be the most organized when it comes to their paperwork. But overall, I had a very positive experience and I would use them again.
