If I could give 0 stars I would. First met with Rico's back in June to have them reupholster my couch. They said from that day it would take about 6 weeks for them to pick it up and then another two weeks to get the couch done once they picked it up. Well, after about 2.5 months we finally had to call them to remind them to pick it up. They finally picked it up August 18th. It is now October 3rd and I still have no couch. We have called 3 times and every time they say "next week" and then we never hear from them. On September 8th we called and they PROMISED two more weeks. It's now been almost a month from that last phone call and no update. The communication and follow through is terrible. Paying WAY too much money to get lied to. EDIT: It is now October 17th and still have not gotten my couch back. read more

Unethical business practice. In January, Rico's collected two chairs to be upholstered, at the time I paid a 50% deposit and was told the chairs would be competed in March. After countless calls the chairs were finally completed in late August and were wrong. Originally I asked that they do not use studs on the chairs, and I was informed they would use a different method and this was agreed in the original quote. Upon arrival they had used studs on the chairs and then proceeded to charge me an additional $450 for the materials. They also had charged an additional fee for a previous job they said was outstanding. Once I provided them with receipts showing this job was paid in full when the job was completed, they said they would knock that amount off the invoice. I was also offered a 10% discount because the job took 6 months longer and wasn't completed correctly. Once we agreed upon the outstanding balance, I gave my credit card details over the phone for that amount. The following day I checked my credit card statement and they had fraudulently charged me the full amount. No 10% discount, price of the studs, and double charged on a previous job. read more

I'm new to the area and found Rico's Upholstery online. The office staff were very friendly and Rico came to my house and took a fabric sample from my couch to replace. A week went by so I contacted the office to schedule a pick up and also to see if they found a matching fabric. I called and emailed the office periodically over a 2-3 week period and never received a response. I finally stopped trying to reach out to them and found someone else to do my repair. I never did receive any form of a response and it's been almost two months now. It was very disappointing after reading other online reviews. Terrible service after the initial set up. I will not waste my time with this company again. read more

Like one of the other reviewers, we live in the neighborhood and had passed by this shop many times, and when we needed two chairs reupholstered we thought of Rico's. They provided a very reasonable quote, and a 2 week timeframe for completion. I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a call in less than a week that they were ready for pick up! They look about 100% better than I expected, and I have pretty high standards! Absolutely fantastic job! The cushions were redone, and are very comfortable, the welting and pattern on the fabric were matched perfectly! The shop is small and not very obvious, but it would be well worth the effort to seek out. They provide professional, efficient service and a skilled level of craftsmanship! Sadly I had a terrible experience with this business. Around the first of September 2016, I dropped off a wooden arm chair and 5 yards of fabric for Rico's to make two rectangular cushions and a fabric pad to sit between the bottom cushion and the springs. I was told it would take 3 weeks to complete. Well this never happened despite numerous phone calls and drop in's to their business. In December 2016, I was told my chair was ready and went to pick it up. Well it wasn't complete per my written contract with them. Also I had paid in full at this visit to the shop as I thought it was complete until I lifted up the seat cushion and saw the spring pad not completed. I was told to give it a week and the chair would be done. Again this did not happen despite numerous calls and excuse after excuse. In late December 2016 when I called Rico's, I was told that they were re-placing a part of the seat spring which was never mentioned until now and they were waiting for a part to arrive and this would be about a week. About 3 weeks after that I stopped in to pick up my chair, it was not complete. I told them I was taking it with me as is. I was told that the part they needed wasn't in yet. I attempted to find out what they were talking about and found out it needed an eye hook which can be purchased at any hardware store. Before walking out the door, I remembered to grab the remaining fabric. I saw my fabric being used on someone else's project in the work area. They initially argued with me saying it wasn't mine. I told them that it was a special order fabric and that they didn't carry JoyBird products. After they looked for my remaining fabric it couldn't be found and they finally admitted to making a mistake after I threatened to get the Better Busness Bureau and police involved. Rico's was using a fabric I paid for another customer's project without my permission. Rico's agreed to pay me for 2 yards of fabric that they had zero permission from me to use on someone else's project. I would never never use this business again and was completely fed up with their lying. I generally want to support local businesses but I have zero respect for this one and its workers. read more

Rico came highly recommended by a friend of mine who has great taste and high standards. I was NOT disappointed. We had an very large, extra deep couch that we bought from Restoration Hardware a few years ago that had never looked very good. The original manufacturers did a poor job of down proofing, and as a result, the couch always looked deflated and wrinkled. After Rico reupholstered the couch and down proofed the pillows, the couch LOOKS BETTER THAN NEW. I highly recommend Rico's Upholstery! read more

Rico's did a nice job on my chairs but BE AWARE of window covering work. Rico recommended that I contract Rico's for valance and vertical blind needs for my home. BIG MISTAKE!! Many delays, unreturned calls about concerns, incorrectly measured products, wrinkled and unsightly valances. Had to complain to Denver BBB and four months after initial contract and MUCH frustration the job was completed with some valance work cancelled/returned. Our dog decided to use the couch as a chew toy. I called several places and most were reluctant to help. Jasmine at Rico's was confident they could restore my couch. They picked it up and had it back within 3 days. There were some fabric hiccups that we had open communication and we fixed the issue together. I am extremely pleased with the work they did. Rico's was recommended to me by a close friend, I was quoted three weeks for a chair to be done and after several phone calls in on my part was continuously given a later finish date. It ended up taking nine weeks, this was suppose to be a Birthday gift for my mother but sadly it was over a month late. My newly reupholstered chair was delivered yesterday and it is absolutely stunning. It is better than anything I can buy new. It is a queen anne style. I had the legs and wood trim stained, retie the springs, replace all padding and interior support and reupholstered. The quality is excellent. the customer service I received was also very good.
