This was my first time boarding my lab Elphaba but it won't be the last. Their hands on care and play time with her was awesome. If she could talk I'm sure she would say it's Disneyworld for labs. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!! My husband went to go pick our pup up from doggy daycare and when he got there he was told "bad news, we sent your dog home with someone else because we had identical dogs here". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! When we saw the other dog, he was MUCH smaller than ours and had no tail. CLEARLY not identical. I am beyond upset that my poor dog was sent home with another family. Recently boarded my dog for 24 days. We were charged $54 per night for and indoor outdoor suite. Rather than standard suite at $42 per night. We had also requested 2 baths and daily treats. There was no charge for these but we ended up paying over $1300 for the stay. We reviewed our visit on their website and got a response from the owner about their rising costs to provide boarding services and nothing about us being overcharged. read more

My dog, Kash, has been attending Advantage Pet Care Center since February 2025, and what started as a trusting relationship turned into a complete nightmare. Kash has been bitten twice by another dog while in their care. The second incident was so severe that he required surgery and has a difficult recovery. After the second attack, I read more reviews -- and to my horror, I discovered that another dog was recently paralyzed while under their care. That's when I knew I had to pull Kash out immediately. This facility is dangerously mismanaged. They allow medium and large dogs to play with small dogs (see photo proof), and it's clear they have far too many dogs and not nearly enough staff to supervise safely. Several employees even admitted that a particular dog should have been re-evaluated for aggression, yet that dog continues to attend daycare while other, well-behaved dogs are kept on rotation to accommodate it. That speaks volumes about their priorities and management. To make matters worse, some of the "positive" reviews I've seen online are encouraged or written by employees, which is extremely misleading for dog parents trying to make a safe choice. I'm heartbroken that Kash went through this, and I wouldn't wish it on any other dog. Please, do your research before bringing your pet here, look at reviews on all platforms. On July 30, 2025, I dropped Charlie off at daycare--a happy, healthy pup. When I picked him up, he was shaking, stiff, and looked like he was going to faint while walking. No one from Advantage contacted me or acknowledged the distress he was in. I took him home, observed him for just 10 minutes (thinking it was a dehydration issue), and saw that he couldn't stand correctly and was sitting abnormally in pain. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where X-rays revealed a herniated disc in his spine. Let me be clear: Charlie was perfectly fine that morning. Whatever happened--whether he jumped wrong, was injured by another dog, or was mishandled--happened under their care. They refuse to release video footage that could help clarify what happened. If you assume they have full camera coverage--they don't. I asked the manager to review the lobby footage from when I brought Charlie back inside when I noticed he yelped when I picked him up in the parking lot to get in my car. The manager stated they don't have cameras in the parking lot or lobby. Ironic. Side note: I was distracted by the front desk employee during Charlie's handover that I did not notice the distress he was in until we walked outside. The lobby is very small so it was only 3-4 steps to the door. I was talking to the employee all the way up to the point of the door shutting. The dogs are also placed in a shack/shelter building from around 3:30 p.m. to pickup--with no cameras at all. Anything could've happened there. We tried to contact the manager for three+ days with no response. When we finally did reach her, she told us: "My personal time is my personal time." She refused to give corporate contact info and told us they will reach out. It's been weeks. Still no contact from corporate. Charlie had to undergo emergency spinal surgery to remove the damaged disc. The neurologist says it's unlikely he will ever walk again.My playful dog is now paralyzed--and the facility that was supposed to protect him is completely uncooperative and shows no accountability. Please do not trust Advantage Pet Center with your pets. If something traumatic happens to your fur baby under their care, they will: * Not communicate * Not assist * Not take responsibility This is neglect. This is unacceptable. Booked an overnight for my two dogs. Was chaos dropping them off. The lady asked if they wanted play time not mentioning any upcharge. They upcharged 25$ without saying anything at any point about it. When I called to ask about the price discrepancy she was rude, even speaking over me and raising her voice. If we had been asked about add one with an upcharge we probably would have said yes but to upcharge without permission is sketchy and unethical. We never received paperwork for any of it in any capacity. Two dogs for less than 24hrs and it was over $100. Between the rude staff, unethical upcharge and chaos, I'd never go back. Update: My dogs are still traumatized from whatever experience they had. We also discovered that they REMOVED my dog's fitbit the entire time he was at the "resort" so I have NO way to confirm what kind of activity they received. The chaos had nothing to do with a supposed "fender bender" as the owner claims. There was no accident in the parking lot while we were there. I STILL have no paperwork regarding our charges. I did NOT authorize an upcharge, they still will not refund the upcharge. The owner is now putting my last name, without permission on responses. It is just one thing after another. Ok so I've read the reviews and it seems that most of them are for the doggy daycare or grooming services - neither of which I can attest to. In fact, this review is based solely upon first impressions and gut feeling. I stopped in to ask about boarding. When I entered, there were 4 employees behind the front counter. The one immediately at the computer who I thought would have greeted me, did not. Instead a man stepped up and said hello and asked how he could help. When I said I wanted boarding info and prices he and the other girl debated over "whose turn it was"...not a warm fuzzy welcoming feeling. The girl lost the debate and began my tour. I was very surprised to see so many large dog kennels outside. I mean, who on earth boards their baby outdoors in the heat of Florida??? I don't know for sure if that's all they offer for big dogs but I certainly wouldn't pay for my dog to stay in animal shelter conditions. She took me to the room for small dogs, which was gratefully air conditioned but seriously just glorified cages...some bigger than others which of course cost more. She told me there is "usually" a TV on in there for background noise, but it wasn't on when I visited on a Saturday??? They do not walk the dogs, they just get let outside to do their business a few times a day. They're a little overpriced compared to what other boarding places nearby offer. I don't know if she was just having a bad day, didn't want to be a work, or whatever the reason, but I just didn't get a good vibe from her about this facility. Instead I looked at Paws Inn Paradise, who has a TV & webcam in their more expensive rooms (not cages) which thoroughly impressed me and is who I will trust with my boy. read more

First and foremost, I don't write reviews. I am only writing on here to make everyone aware of the way my dog was treated at this facility... I boarded my dog here from Nov 9th - Nov 11th 2018. When my boyfriend went to pick her up he just paid AND TIPPED and went on his way. When he brought her home I went to hug her face and I noticed 2 really big scars on the side of her face. (Shown in pictures) They did not even tell us about the scars. I know my dog is a puppy and she was probably playing rough and it got out of hand but I believe that the care center should have contacted me right after it happened or at least told me about the altercations when my boyfriend went to pick her up. We have been using advantage for 5 years, first with our Rottie, and currently with our Lab. The staff have been fantastic with both dogs which is a statement it itself since they are very different dogs. We dropped off our pet a couple of times while on vacation but each time we went to pick her up she was in a kennel. Different times each day. Each time we were given a lame excuse. One time was to clean the yard, another was to calm the dogs down, another was much time. howe they don't feed the dogs. Supposed to be doggie day care. This is how we received our dog after spending 3 days in this facility. That is a picture of his scrotum. The skin looks burnt. We had to take him to the vet. They supposedly have shaded areas for the dogs while they are outside. But no dog would choose to lay in a hot surface while his skin is burning, he would move somewhere else, it makes you wonder if he even had another option... There is another review of a woman who complains about her dog's paws being injured because of the harsh pavement on this facility. This facility should take into account the fact that we live in a state where we reach very high temperatures and surfaces like pavement can get extremely hot. If a surface is too hot to touch with your bare hand, then it's too hot for a dog to be on. Animals don't have a voice, we are their voice and it's our responsibility to speak out for them. What my dog had to endure in this facility is not ok and it's important for people to know these things so they can make an informed decision about their choice in boarding facilities. If you're in the business of taking good care of animals and you're not meeting these expectations, either switch to another profession or do better. read more

My dogs can not get out of the car fast enough when we pull into the parking lot. They know exactly where they are and that is such a good feeling for me knowing they're so excited to be there. I hate hate writing bad reviews because I'm all about supporting small businesses and wish for everyone's success but when it comes to the health our baby, I don't take it lightly. I love advantage pet center because it's right next to my house and so convenient. The staff is extremely nice and professional and my buddy always looks amazing after every groom. However, the last two times I picked him up from here, he had something wrong with him. The first time being a terrible heaving cough that lasted for a week before I had to take him to the vet for some antibiotics. They said that they'll sometimes catch it in the air if they're around other animals. I take him to the dog park all the time and it's never happened but I still didn't think much of it or blamed Advantage Pet Center. I brought him back there again a couple months later. This time he had major stomach problems. I woke up in the middle of the night with him next to me shaking uncontrollably and a pungent smell. He had massive diarrhea that didn't go away until I had to take him back to the vet for more antibiotics. For a while, I refused to believe that it was the Pet Advantage Centers fault and it might not be, could just be a coincidence but I have not had a problem with him since I stopped taking him there 6 or more so months ago. If it is something at the center, I hope since then they've gotten the situation fixed or deep cleaned. read more

This pet service center is amazing! I recently had to board my two, 19-year-old cats - while my house had to be tented for termites (Not a fun ordeal!). The staff of Advantage Pet Center were more than accommodating and reassuring! I had no worries that my two "fur babies" were being given exceptional care. I have been bringing my 8 pound toy poodle to Advantage for about two yrs, but no longer. The first time I brought her to be boarded I asked if I could see in the back kennel area where they said she would be staying but they said no because they had no one to cover the front. I had no choice but to leave my dog there. I subsequently asked again if I could be brought in the back and those arrangements were never made. I now have a pet sitter. The groomer Miss Jamie does a decent job and she was always kind with my dog. However, management policies and the way that staff speak to customers is awful. They have changed grooming appointment times on me without calling. Once I showed up for my 10 o'clock appointment to be told I was late it was at 8 AM because they changed it. The most recent time I brought her to be groomed, I was trying to book the next appointment, and I was told I would have to put down a deposit because "I was a no-show, too many times" - said in front of other waiting customers. I've never been a no-show but again that speaks to poor management. One time I brought her in to be groomed and they took her in the back and before I could drive away too far, they called and said, come back and get your dog she doesn't have an appointment today. I had the appointment card in my hand for that day and time so when I said that, they said OK we'll fit her in. I'm tired of paying for sub par services, so I'm bringing my business elsewhere and I recommend you do the same. read more

Boy I wouldn't want to be in the pet care business in today's world of the social media review. If anything goes wrong with their dog, if it gets sick, hurts a leg in the play yard, etc, they blame the kennel and 1 star is the result. I'd be very wary of reviews that start out "my baby" or "my son",,lol,,,really people? We have a German Shepherd/Husky mix that has severe, and I mean severe, separation anxiety. We rescued him at 4 and for the last 2 years we have sent him to APC for occasional daycare, boarding and grooming. The staff at APC has been terrific. At first he was totally out of control, destroyed crates, etc, but now he is a completely different dog and loves going to APC. I did not take my dog there, but from the pictures and Internet site, I was excited to drop in and check it out. All I can say is that nothing there looked even remotely like the pictures. The place really was a stinky mess... the water feature - hadn't worked in a while, and resulted in nothing but a dirt turn-out area. These loving employees were all up front hanging out... the only people outside with the dogs were those that stepped out to smoke. Why go out to smoke, the place was so filthy and smelly, I could still smell my tour until I got home to shower. Everyone is entitled to have a bad day - and this could be a good place, BUT, drop in, without calling, and ask for a tour. You can then be your own judge. read more

IF so, what is the "effective" date of the insurance? My cat "Henry" passed away at Advantage Pet Center in July, 2017. This company failed me and my cat. The groomer put my cat into a no-heat dryer cage for 1 hour to calm down after the groomer started to give Henry a rough clip, confirmed in Necropsy Report. The groomer claims my cat became "panicky". 1 hour later when the groomer came back to check on my cat and finish the groom, my cat had already passed away of a heart attack according to the Necropsy report conducted by my Vet. While my cat lay in the unknown dryer cage, I was NOT called to come in and pick up my cat nor did Advantage Pet Center get medical help for my cat while my cat was having a medical emergency. My cat was not checked on and they did not seek medical attention for my cat, Henry. My cat had a Heart-Attack in a No-Heat Dryer Cage at Advantage Center and died. I have never been able to speak to the groomer or see the no-heat dryer cage at Advantage Pet Center as I've previously requested. APC will NOT let me speak with the groomer to find out exactly what happened that day. What are they hiding? Something isn't right. It's almost like they are hiding something otherwise why all the secrecy? IF they are insured like it's stated on Angie's List, then why can't I see a copy of their Insurance? Simply put my dog L-O-V-E-S this place. He is a little overweight and because he has not had much exercise over the last 2 years, he was completely not ready to go out and play. All I can say is OMG. I dropped him off the first day because both my dogs needed to have a groom. So I asked if he could play for 1/2 the day before he went in for his groom. When he got home he was so relaxed and just like a toddler he had dinner and passed out. A couple of days later I decided to take him in for the day. He is an English Cream Retriever and they are a little bigger than Goldens, and this boy weighs in at 117lbs, and has been struggling with his hips a little. The only mistake I made is left him there for the whole day. Being that he was unfit he was nearly half dead when he came home. Within 2 hours he could not walk. We gave him his joint medicine, massaged him and helped him up when he needed to go potty. The next morning he was still struggling a little but by the afternoon he was up and about again. The next day he kept on asking to go out. I would open the door for him and he would go straight to the back gate. Lay there and look at me with those eyes asking me to take him somewhere. When we let him back in the house he would come put his head on our laps or knock our arms with his nose so that we would pay attention to him. So the next day I took him in for a 1/2 day and 2 days later again and a couple of days later again. Yesterday he got back and you could just see how happy he was. I am going to keep him at 1/2 day visits for the next month, just to get his fitness level up and then put him in for full days because this has been the best thing ever for him. He is loosing weight and honestly is very happy to have around. The staff is very friendly and when you walk in they even remember who your dog is - by name. I never thought I would be comfortable leaving my dog without me to supervise - now I can't believe it's taken me that long. read more

I took my son in for the second time he got a the usual full service groom job and flea bath. After picking him up he didn't seem the normal jolly dog that he always is. He didn't want to eat and was breathing like a emphysema patient. It was a very scary seen so I called my vet and brought him in. After the vet examined him and x rayed him It was obvious to see water in his lungs smh . I was very upset he was treated and has made a recovery but after almost $1100. The following day I got a check up call from the groomer and I informed her that hew was very Ill and she said the owner would call me back. It's been a week and no call back. This place is not good! I visited in the early afternoon and they had all of the dogs outside in 95 degree but felt like 117 degree weather according to WeatherUnderground app. The doggy door was blocked so the dogs could not get inside to the air conditioning and they were howling and crying. I wouldn't take my dog here ever! The worker didn't seem concerned about the dogs well being at all. If I could give less then one star I would. I'll continue to use DogVacay.com and Rover.com to find loving homes to leave my dog when needed. Please thoroughly investigate any place before you leave your pet somewhere and drop in unannounced from time to time. They can't tell us what happens so we have to be diligent about their care. APC clients and potential clients, The below review is in response to Ann's (the owner of APC) earlier comments to my initial review of APC over a year ago. In Ann's comments from earlier today (since adapted), she suggested that we were unwilling to pay for a veterinarian and that is the reason for my dog's death. Like anyone who loves their animals, I quickly responded with the below update to my initial review. Shortly thereafter, I received a notification from Yelp that Ann has changed her comments. Upon reviewing her latest comments, I see that she has removed her hurtful and insensitive comments. My guess is that the rationale of the "guest didn't want to pay for veterinarian care", but has $13k worth of bills dated just after their visit to APC (which I am happy to post as a photo to my Yelp account) probably seems slightly hard for most potential clients to believe. So, Ann decided to edit her comments, removing the insensitive comments and for the first time has expressed empathy for me losing my best friend. Dear Ann: First of all, welcome to Social Media (1 yr later). One of the things you will learn about social media (and life) is that honesty and genuine remorse are things that others respect, including potential customers and current customers. The fact of the matter is that your company's actions directly resulted in the death of my best friend who one year later, I still miss everyday. While less important, the other fact is that your recent response to my review of my experience with your business is a completely inaccurate depiction of the events, thereby calling into question my personal integrity (and minimizing the death of my best friend, Alexander the Great Dane). To suggest that you called us 4 times and that we did not want to take him to the vet because of money is ridiculous. Beyond the fact that I asked specifically, "should he go the vet?", why would we tell you we are concerned about money and then proceed to spend over $10k cash to save him? Do those actions seem consistent with a person that would worry about the money? With all respect, your response is incorrect, hurtful and disrespectful. I wonder what is going on over there.. i am devastated that this happened and am wondering if this was a coincidence ? thats 2 dogs in 2 months..." Again, my experience with social media (and life) is that people forgive other people who made a mistake, but demonstrate an intention to change and show genuine remorse; lying about the situation is not how you make amends and earn clients' trust. Finally, to anyone still reading this review (and considering doing business with Advantage Pet Center), I would like to stress again that I don't think Ann or anyone there intended to kill my dog, but their poor practices (strenuous exercise too soon after feeding) and lack of a sense of urgency (not taking him to a vet right away) are the reason my dog died; these are undeniable facts. I have been taking my dog Tucker to Advantage for 13 years. My little Shih Tzu loves their Doggie Daycare and Nick the groomer is the best in town. I tried other Groomer's in the past but I learned my lesson and I only take him to Advantage now. The staff is attentive, helpful and even call to see if you were satisfied with his haircut. I suggest this place for any one who loves their animals. read more

I have been taking our dogs here for more than ten years now, both before the current owners were in charge and when the previous owners had the place. We first took our three grown Lab's, Otto, Harry and Wally there for bathing and also for boarding until they passed away from old age. nowadays we have a new small Havanese dog Winston and I have decided to again resume taking him to APC for Grooming and bathing because we always had good experiences with them. I am sure Winston will get the same care and love here as our other boys did! I give APC high marks and am sure they will do a great job for you as well! read more

We have been using Advantage pet for over 30 years. Ann who used to own the business was great. We cannot say this about the new management. They seemed dumbfounded in regards to the specifics of ours pets at pickup and one of our dogs was injured at the facility. This was not brought to our attention and we were told that our pets were in great hands during their time there. read more

I took my Maltese to Advantage Pet Care to get groomed for my first time. I definitely will be going back. The staff are very nice and friendly. Also, good prices. The groomer did a phenomenal job on my dog. Thank you, Advantage Pet Center!!! read more

I have been using APC for many years now. My older dog has been boarded there for the past 8-9 years now and they have been absolutely great. I moved further away 5 years ago but will not take my dogs anywhere else despite having to drive past other kennels on the drive to APC. The owner and staff have always shown the utmost care and love towards the dogs. The last time I was there I boarded my older dog and a young, new adoptee we have that has strong fear of new people. I told the staff about her issues and to be careful she doesn't bite them out of fear. They spent time with her and made her comfortable, and by the end of the stay she was happy and friendly with them. My dogs are family to me and I would recommend APC to anyone. read more
