I've gotten both of our babies here and all of my experiences here have been positive. The staff is helpful, kind and caring. They are obviously animal lovers. Both of our cats were fixed, vaccinated, and chipped here as well. They charge such a small fee it's nice to give them a bit more for the amount they give you. My adoption also came with starter food, toys, and more. On Long Island, our popular animal shelter charges about six times the amount for their services. It can be a challenge reaching them by phone, but they will call you back.

Thank you pcas for our best friend and perfect ESA, Luca previously Kingsford. I had seen "Kingsford" on the website and felt a connection with his photos. We went to see him and a volunteer was very helpful and answered many questions for me and let us take him outside. All kennels were clean and animals seemed as happy as could be under the circumstances. Luca has changed our lives forever in such a positive way. The adoption process was so easy and we were able to donate some money too since the adoption fee was less than expected! Very great experience! Thank you all!

Of all places to visit while in Florida, we had to stop here and check out the fur babies. There's so many cute babies here, we wanted to adopt them all and fly them home to Cali with us. There was a couple tiny yorkies that I could just put in my pocket. I think one day in the future, I would come back and adopt from this place and fly home with one

I recently visited this shelter three days in a row. Each day, there were countless volunteers walking dogs & answering all of my questions. The facility was clean, including all of the kennels, with fresh water in each kennel. There were charts along the walls to keep track of all the dogs' walks, feedings, etc. The office staff treated the animals with compassion & were extremely kind & helpful! I highly recommend this shelter! I am so happy to report I adopted from them during my visit! And I am in love!

My dog is dead thanks to them. I was there two consecutive days looking for my lost dog, I filled a yellow form EACH day with info about the dog and also the owner. They took me to the cages to see if she was there, no, I did not see her. Back the following day and was the same. Later on I found that she WAS there the first day I went looking for her, she was not in the cages, she had been euthanized two hours before I got there and nobody informed me of that (I found that 3 days later, and not because they notified me). Why filling forms that they do not read? What kind of organization is this? The veterinarian Erik Pindal euthanized her in exactly 8 minutes (I have records) after she came to his hands. I later found that she has been hit by a car and taken by a passerby to a veterinary emergency clinic, since Animal Services was closed at that moment, where they gave her an excellent care for 24 hours and she was eating well, then the morning after, the clinic called to Animal Services to pick up the dog. As soon she arrived to the center went right away to Dr. Pindal, with the records from the clinic, where it was written very clearly that she ate well and was stable, and as I said before, he euthanized her without performing any tests at all, he did not give her the four days holding period for stray dogs before making any decision. Did not give her ANY chance to found her owner, not even one day, not even just few hours, time enough for me to find her, since I was there just two hours after he killed her. She was only one number for them, for me she was MY dog. She was just a lost dog, lost forever now thanks to them. Gave them one star because I can not give them ZERO stars. Mary

But recently used it when time was an issue. Yesterday I went to pick up my order and walked towards the racks where online orders are placed so I could read the sign that had instructions because the store was busy and no one was available to ask. This is when a cashier rudely says '"you are going to have to get at the back of the line !! We're too busy right now!! My thought was what a jerk! I will probably shop here if I need something but I would love to tell the workers from yesterday personally and not in front of the whole store that need to to get an attitude change or a job where they don't interact with people. They changed my opinion of this location from a friend atmosphere to a negative atmosphere.

I am writing this review to share our unfortunate experience with Petland in Largo, FL. We recently purchased a tiny Pomeranian-Yorkie for $4000, expecting to welcome a healthy, happy puppy into our home. Unfortunately, our experience has been anything but that. From the moment we brought the puppy home, we followed the feeding instructions given to us by Petland, feeding him 3-4 times a day. However, on the third day, the puppy began having seizures and foaming at the mouth. My aunt, who is not able to drive, was alone with the puppy and had to wait for me to come the next morning. When I arrived, the puppy was listless and clearly unwell. We rushed him back to Petland, who advised us to take him to the vet. The vet then instructed us to go to the emergency room, where we discovered that the puppy was hypoglycemic. He was given an IV to stabilize his blood sugar levels, and the vet mentioned he might have liver issues or other health problems that would require further testing to diagnose. Given the puppy's critical condition and the level of care he would need, we returned to Petland to discuss the situation. We explained that we would not be able to provide the necessary medical care for the puppy and requested that they take him back. Petland refused, stating that returning the puppy would be considered animal abandonment. They would offer no reimbursement for the medical care this dog would require, nor would they assist in the care of the dog. I reached out to Petland's corporate office, hoping for a resolution that prioritized the puppy's well-being. However, we were forced to take the puppy home, despite his serious medical issues and our inability to care for him properly. I am extremely disappointed with how Petland handled this situation. They displayed a complete lack of responsibility and compassion for the puppy's health, prioritizing profit over the animal's well-being. Selling a puppy with such severe medical issues without proper care instructions is unethical. I urge potential buyers to think twice before purchasing a pet from Petland, as our experience has been heartbreaking and distressing. The life of the puppy should be the most important concern, and it is deeply troubling that Petland failed to take responsibility for an animal they sold just days prior. We are left with a sick puppy and a significant financial burden, with no support from the pet store that sold him to us.
