My husband and I have have been taking our cars here for service and repairs for about 6 years now. We both enjoy driving luxury cars but they can be expensive to keep up, so it's nice to have a shop that we trust. They are very honest and affordable for great service. My husband has seriously had more cars than anyone I know! He always buys them used so I like having the peace of mind knowing that the guys at advantage have thoroughly looked them over. Also, with as many car changes he has it's extremely important to us that they are always honest about needed repairs. Last month we were on our way to Del Mar had the car full of dogs and friends. As we were getting gas one of our friends rolled down the rear window and regulator went out. There was no way we were driving to California with a window completely rolled down. I called Advantage and they were nice enough to let me swing by, they stopped what they were doing to quickly fix the window so we could get back on the road. They were a total life saver that weekend as we were on our way to a wedding and didn't have a lot of time. We have moved further away but will continue to take all of our vehicles here! Had low power issues with newly purchased 2007 Sprinter van with Mercedes-Benz 2500 diesel while in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tried to get the local Sprinter service to see us before returning to San Diego. He couldn't sqeeze us in for an analysis for a week. We decided to drive home anyway but look for a good repair facility enroute using Yelp. We found Advantage Imports in Phoenix where our daughter lives. Emo said he would take us in as soon as we arrived. Limping along for 2300 miles via El Paso due to low power we arrived after 3 very long driving days. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT! Emo put the van through his tests and quickly determined it was the resonator off the turbo, using a novel smoke test. I then asked him to replace the 5 glow plugs as one was showing a trouble code. No problem. Even scraped out carbon buildup. He said there were several other neglected items such as fuel filter, v-belt and pulleys. He took time to show and explain every recommended action. I realized I had found a gem of a repair facility and had him perform oil change, diesel fuel filter replacement and brake flush. This shop took three days to complete everything and even threw in an engine steam clean! The van easily passed strict California emissions tests. The bill came in 60-75% lower than I would have been charged elsewhere. Emo and his team are true masters of their trade and and are very trustworthy. Could not be more pleased. To emphasize, I will return to this shop from San Diego for ALL my maintenance and repair needs in the future! It will be worth the trip! read more

Took my 2003 mercedes C240 here. I hit a median in the road and did damage to the front bumper, took off side mirror and damaged the front panel. They gave me a quick estimate which was very fair and said they would have it done in 4 days and it would look better then before. No rock chips, no dents. (I thought no way) after 4 days I got a call saying my car was ready. I went and picked it up and I was very pleased they did just what they said for the price they said. My car actually looks better. I am very happy and will be recommending them for now on and will be making them my new shop. Thanks guys! read more

Hard to believe Advantage Imports is still in business. They sold me a lemon. Tried to hide the mechanical failure to go past engine warranty and then would not or could not fix the car. Advantage Imports saved the day and our biggest account!!! We are a limousine company located in Los Angeles and our car broke down in AZ during Super Bowl. I contacted Emo at 545 PM on a Thursday and advised that we are in dire need of a shop to fix our Sprinter. He advised he usually opens at 8 AM but will come in an hour early at 7 to get a jump start on it. We arrived at 645 and he was there, got the car in the shop, diagnosed the problem, ordered a part and had us out of there before lunch!! So my old Mercedes had a fender bender and I made the mistake of taking the car here. I asked for an ESTIMATE to fix the AC opposed to fixing the bunmber and fender and was handed a 175.00 bill for the estimate (which just happened to be just a tad higher than the fender bender estimate... go figure). No indication from them that the estimate was going to cost me anything. This is NOT an honest place to do business with... STAY AWAY is my recommendation! read more

Run Away. Shysters. I don't doubt that the vast majority of the reviews listed on this website regarding Advantage Auto Imports are bogus. They have been doctoring their website 'image' to make up for bad reviews. One review here even addresses reading a bad review and says they disagree. Really?! No real reviewer would do that as they wouldn't know what the other person had experienced. Buyer beware with these guys. Bought a piece of junk car from them which they said was in 'perfect' condition. Car broke down in a few days. They didn't fix my car. They lied to me and didn't even care. In fact they, even told me to go somewhere else to get my car correctly diagnosed. Which I did. Will never do business with them again.
