Upon investigation, it was discovered that the attic lacked adequate insulation, with only 2-3 inches of deteriorated insulation present. Additionally, the entire attic, ceiling, and chimney required vapor sealing and the removal of old insulation. To ensure optimal sealing of the home, the basement exterior rim joist should also be foam sealed. Prioritize Energy Testing: Conducted both before and after the re-insulation of the home. The purpose of this test is to identify the existing insulation characteristics of the home and compare them to those after re-insulation. Insulation Team: Tyler, Nick, and Trevor - all highly skilled and professional individuals who consistently provided us with updates throughout the entire process. The attic upgrade process involves several steps: 1. Removal of old insulation. 2. Chimney wrapping and proper ventilation of the bathroom vent fan. 3. Covering the pod ceiling light and adding vent panels for the eaves. 4. Sealing the entire attic and ceiling with spray foam. 5. Spraying in 17 inches of cellulose insulation (fire retardant, pest retardant, higher R-value, and 100% recycled). 6. Construction of a new attic access cover with insulation. Basement Rim Joist Sealing: The entire basement rim joist was sealed with foam. Prior to this work, we had capped the concrete block basement wall tops with rigid foam and caulked in 2022. Current Residence: Acquired in 2022, necessitating extensive maintenance. Previous Energy Upgrades: 1. In 2022, the furnace and ducting were replaced. 2. In 2022 and 2025, the 1954 windows were replaced. 3. In 2026, the outdated air conditioning system was replaced with a Bryant VAN 290 Heat Pump. They charged me an additional $600 to repair the front of my house where I had an overhang. I asked several times about the cost and stated this is the full amount and was told yes, they would not charge any more than what was on the agreement we BOTH signed. Well that didn't hold up and we ended up having to pay $600 more. My front picture window was defective so it needed to be replaced. Twice it was replaced and broken. The screens for the front larger picture window don't stay in and fall out with the wind. The smaller window in the living room doesn't open all the way and opens very hard. My trim in the kitchen window was damaged and there was a large gap in the wood. I had to ask them to come back to repair it and you can still see where the gap and discoloration is. I would not recommend this company to do work for me again and would not hire them again. I tried to discuss this with the owner, Micah, and got no where. He wouldn't refund the $600 or even part of it. I have also asked for a receipt for the additional $600 I had to pay and two months later I am still waiting for the receipt, even though I was told that would not be a problem to get the receipt.

The person I spoke with was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and had someone sent out same day to take a look. I believe his name was John and he was excellent. Super friendly and knew his stuff for sure. In the end it did turn out to simply be frozen pipes, but John took care of it, and not to mention had to work outside on the coldest day we've had in a long time. Unfortunately, I opted to hire Sure-Dry. *** I specifically asked the sales person and the crew supervisor why they wouldn't have to dig the outside perimeter to correct my problem *** They're answer was " Ohhh, we don't have to do that anymore " I am an average home owner, I did my research, but you're also hiring PROFESSIONALS, LICENSED COMPANIES who make you believe that you can trust them. When they started my project, they assured me that these " magical drain tiles " would resolve & correct my problems. When the crew began, the workers were extremely kind, however after the work was finished, Sure-Dry had to come out repeatedly to correct things that weren't done right. I had to call them SO MANY times. I worked my way up the branch of command to get help. ****My basement kept getting wet, every time it rained *** I would call them every time to have someone come out to address the problem. This company refused to call me back. Luckily I kept a log and took pictures over the past 3 years. On 9/4/26 we had a lot of rain. My sump pump alarm went off at 4am, I went down to basement, suddenly water came leaking in from every wall by the floor. I immediately called Sure-Dry. Of course they don't offer 24hr emergency service. I left them a message. 1 hr later I heard a THUNDEROUS CRASH !!! My bearing wall had now totally COLLAPSED. I had water & mud up to ankles. Mud had now traveled through my entire basement & lower level of my house. My living room, bathroom, bedroom & office. EVERYTHING GOT DESTROYED !! I left another message, frantically telling them of the collapse. By 9am I had called in another 5 times with still no response back. It is now 9/25/26... this unscrupulous, fraudulently based company has yet to call me back or even come out to my house to view all the damages. I spoke to the GM: Nick Rainer on 9/11, now a week later. He promised to speak to Cory ( project manager) about situation & come out that following Monday. I proactively sent Sure-Wet a certified letter requesting a cure for damages. After 10 days the GM ( Nick Rainer) sent me an email, stating they have forwarded my situation to their LEGAL Dept. OMG ... I have a 25 yr warranty from this company !!! And still no call, no apology and no visit to my home. I began & attempted to call every contractor, foundation repair company, restoration service etc.... But no one was available, due to working the Menasha tornado project. EVERYTHING Toby, Vince & Tony were the crew that water-proofed my basement. They ALL went up & beyond. They were very expeditious in completing the job, and were so KIND for assisting me with small items I needed help with. I decided to go with the " wall braces" that were recommended to ensure my walls / foundations stay in place. I requested the same crew to come back for the additional repairs. The only downside that was visible to me, would be the appearance of the white wall sheeting that was applied. The pictures and how it was described to me when I received my quote were totally different. The pictures showed a tight white sheeting that appeared to be flat & adhered to the wall. The sheets on my walls are loose and not that appealing. Toby explained what the sheeting was actually meant to do, therefore the need for the loose fitting. I might suggest that when siting an estimate and providing different options to the customer, that the " Wall protection " be explained a little better.

I hired Square Oaks for a large patio door and window project at my lake house. Unfortunately, this…read morehas been one of the most frustrating contractor experiences I have ever had. The patio door was purchased on October 25, 2025, and the window was purchased on December 19, 2025. Square Oaks' own written "What to Expect Next" document states that, following inspection, products would take approximately 6-8 weeks to arrive at their warehouse, with installation scheduled once all product was confirmed. Instead, this project dragged on for approximately 8-10 months, with repeated problems along the way. After several interactions and full on arguments with the owner, Rick Rajchel, showed me where his moral compass lies by offering me a full refund verbally and then in writing (a week and a half later) emailed me to say I was trying to get money out of him and all he would do is a 10% discount. The window installation in particular has been a nightmare. The window was initially installed in a manner that did not accommodate the siding, requiring Square Oaks to return and adjust the installation. During that adjustment, Square Oaks broke the glass. They subsequently ordered replacement glass, which was also broken. Another replacement was ordered, and that glass was broken as well. So after multiple attempts, I am still left with a large window that is visibly broken and unresolved. What has been equally frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability throughout the process. I was repeatedly required to follow up for updates, and at one point the owner told me he was personally handling the issue. After not receiving the promised follow-up, I had to reach out again simply to get an update. After explaining the history of the problems, I spoke directly with the owner, who verbally told me he would provide a full refund for the window. I relied on that conversation as the resolution to the issue. However, when he subsequently put his position in writing, he reversed course and offered only a 10% discount on the entire project while continuing to charge me for the window. The response has now been reduced to telling me that the broken glass is simply a warranty issue and that I can either accept their offer or pursue arbitration. For me, this isn't about refusing a warranty. (Which it clearly states in their warranty clause that damage during installation DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A WARRANTY) It's about the fact that I paid for a properly installed, functioning window and have instead experienced repeated installation problems, repeated broken glass, significant delays, and an enormous amount of time spent following up with the company to get problems corrected. I hired a professional company because I expected them to manage the project professionally. Instead, I feel like I have had to manage the contractor throughout the process. I would strongly encourage anyone considering Square Oaks to understand exactly how defects, installation damage, delays, warranty issues, and disputes are handled before signing a contract. This is just part of my experience- I didn't share the issues from the patio door. Highly recommend you do not buy from this company. .
