Although I have been an EMT for over 17 years, it's been a long time since I was in a classroom setting and appreciated how she tailored some aspects of the core curriculum to my needs. Her teaching style is clear, hands-on, and full of patience. She doesn't just teach the material she makes sure you understand it, feel confident in it, and knows how to apply it in the real world. And if you mess up, she's right there with encouragement and guidance, never judgment. If you engage in active listening, show up on time (every time) and practice safe lab procedures you will ace the class with no problem. Take it seriously, phlebotomy is the first line in medical care. Even though I am familiar with vlookups and pivot tables, Rodger was very informative with all the different ways to utilize the functions. You get a mouse pad with some shortcuts and a handbooks with the items you learn in class so you can revisit the information. I was impressed with his knowledge of shortcuts that I would like to take the class that is specifically for learning shortcuts. Can't wait to see what all level 3 entails. My only concern is that it is semi fast paced and although I was able to follow along, I could see some others struggling so beware if you are a little slow. He will stop and repeat or go directly to your computer and show you if you are confused.
