Attended a Women N.O.W. conference luncheon regarding human sex-trafficking hosted by the Sociology Club and a professor Dr. Fonge. Met several amazing people and lunch was provided by Big 6 BBQ (food was amazing btw - I will have to try them out personally). Conference room where event was held was impressive. Nice stage, sound systems, and huge television monitors as well as projector screen. Great place to host a future SuperBowl party on campus!! Parking lot was huge but obviously extremely packed. They do have a multi-level parking garage so I'd recommend going straight there from the get go so you're not searching for an open spot. Would definitely return to attend future on-campus events in the future. The Sociology club there seems to have it together as the event was very organized and no mishaps derailed any part of this 4 hour event. Very professionally handled and orchestrated.

I went there for an IT associates degree and it is a complete waste of money. All they do is teach you how to pass the CompTIA exams and overcharge you to do so. The school is so ill equipped that a smartphone is more powerful than their computers which still run on windows 8. The classes consisted of lectures with powerpoint presentation and youtube videos that you can see for free online. Eventually before they considered me a drop out they gave us access to Testout which is an online learning portal that CompTIA bought out. So after 2 years they finally had something else to help us at school without upgrading computers. Their is next to no hands on experience for a trade school nor capabilities for any other kind of in depth learning that could apply to a job, its purely CompTIA and nothing else. You will also have to continuously pay for the classes if you do not have: CompTIA A+ Core 1 CompTIA A+ Core 2 Networking+ They operate on a pass fail system. If you do not get the certification you do not pass the class no matter what and will have to pay for it all over again until you do pass and acquire the certification while using out of date technology on campus grounds. All and all its a waste of money. -You can easily get a subscription to Testout -You can watch Professor Messer on YouTube for free -You can also get courses from Udemy for cheap as well, just wait for the discounts which happen frequently There are plenty of free or cheap alternatives online that you can use instead of paying upwards of 25k+ to come to this college just to use these the above mentioned.

"PROFESSIONALISM" -this includes everything from tardies, absences, using the toilet during lectures (regardless of the reason. If you take furosemide...you better have a strong bladder! I seriously doubt students leave the lecture to "catch a break" or bunk off, giving the high expense we pay to attend the school!), ensuring your cell phone is silenced during lectures (mistakes are made but unforgiven and some teachers will not even listen to you.), to sheer pickiness such as making sure you have filled out one of those American bubble exam slips correctly. If you write the wrong group number (even if you have not been told what this is), points are deducted from your grade. I have a problem with points being taken from my paper simply because I got the date wrong or for any other form of pettiness that takes away from a grade deserved through hard study. Its unfair and unnecessary. If the school insist on grading us on how professional we act, then, please, treat us like adults. Some, NOT ALL, of the teachers tend to treat us like dummys/kids and I think this is because most, if not all, of the teachers are VTIH alumni. Maybe they had a rough time, but why repeat the same mistakes your former teachers did? One would have thought they would WANT to be an inspiration to their students. The staff is a very small body made up of approx. 7 teachers. So, if you don't get along with one--you are screwed. I guarantee that the raw relationship you have will reflect negatively upon your grade. Just because this is a condensed program--please do not speak to us as fast as you can to ensure that YOU are on track with your syllabus. Accept questions and be prepared to answer. Mrs. Kat is awesome and doesn't shove material down your throat at a ridiculous rate. If anyone does have an issue with a teacher--Ms Huff is always willing to help and is a fantastic instructor and program director. There are two classes you must pass to continue with the second half of semester 1: Medical Terminology and Animal Behavior. Due to absences, they failed me on Animal Behavior and as for Medical Terminology, I failed that myself. The material was slowly becoming easier to me and I feel it was unfair to have been withdrawn from the program just because I failed this class. The school were unwilling to work with me, but more than happy to take my money, which neither I or my family appreciated. We really thought something could have been worked out, given my circumstances. I'm still giving the school 3 stars because I learnt a lot in the short time I spent there. I plan to continue at Lone Star. Giving that I'm already a LVA, I plan to work as well, which I will now have time for, so this may have been a good thing that happened to me.

And, if that's not enough, professors are uneducated on basic anatomical principals to the point of frightening ignorance. This not only hurts students: it hurts the animals.
