Sandifer (spelling error?) was my instructor for my only on campus class (I take everything else online) and he was great.

The only thing that bothered me was the admission process because the people working in the office are very rude. I, this year in 2024, was going to go back to complete the AAS program, which is the paralegal associates, but I was deterred once again by the admission workers. So I won't be going back. I'll take my money somewhere else. That's sad that I have to say that because the teachers are good but that staff will keep losing because they are rude and like the lady previously said they aren't helpful they just want your money and then they throw you away like your nothing. I've even called the director ERIC HAPPE and no response. To be exact the person with the attitude is James S. He doesn't respond to emails or calls that's why I gave up on them. I live in San Antonio, so if your in the 210, I wouldn't bother with this school. Good luck everyone!!!

This was my first time taking online courses and I highly recommend it ! The faculty communicates with you every step of the way & always offered to help ! I went there for an IT associates degree and it is a complete waste of money. All they do is teach you how to pass the CompTIA exams and overcharge you to do so. The school is so ill equipped that a smartphone is more powerful than their computers which still run on windows 8. The classes consisted of lectures with powerpoint presentation and youtube videos that you can see for free online. Eventually before they considered me a drop out they gave us access to Testout which is an online learning portal that CompTIA bought out. So after 2 years they finally had something else to help us at school without upgrading computers. Their is next to no hands on experience for a trade school nor capabilities for any other kind of in depth learning that could apply to a job, its purely CompTIA and nothing else. You will also have to continuously pay for the classes if you do not have: CompTIA A+ Core 1 CompTIA A+ Core 2 Networking+ They operate on a pass fail system. If you do not get the certification you do not pass the class no matter what and will have to pay for it all over again until you do pass and acquire the certification while using out of date technology on campus grounds. All and all its a waste of money. -You can easily get a subscription to Testout -You can watch Professor Messer on YouTube for free -You can also get courses from Udemy for cheap as well, just wait for the discounts which happen frequently There are plenty of free or cheap alternatives online that you can use instead of paying upwards of 25k+ to come to this college just to use these the above mentioned.

If you go to the Literacy Advance of Houston (LAH) website, you'll be confronted with a few facts…read morethat should give you pause: * Approximately 52% of adults in Harris County are functionally illiterate in English * Texas ranks 47 out of 50 states, in terms of English literacy levels * 68% of those arrested, 75% of welfare dependents, 85% of dropouts and 72% of the unemployed are identified as functionally illiterate If you're in a self-absorbed mood, the third fact should answer the question, "Why do I care?" quite convincingly. So, who's doing anything about this? LAH is! They are a non-profit organization whose mission is "to teach adults to read, write, and communicate in English so they can achieve their full potential as parents, workers, citizens, and community members." Using strictly volunteer tutors, classes are offered for free at schools, community centers, churches, corporations, and small businesses throughout the Greater Houston area. LAH has been strongly endorsed by a number of local literacy advocates whose names you've heard (some of them are volunteer tutors too): * Author and Houston's First Lady, Andrea White * Former Astro pitcher, announcer and manager, Larry Dierker * Former Oiler quarterback and General Manager of the Houston Dynamo, Oliver Luck * Former Head Coach of the Houston Comets, Van Chancellor * and many more... There are few local charities that are more deserving of some dollars you can leverage into a tax write-off or perhaps even some of your time as a tutor. In addition to the office in Galleria area, they also have an office near Clearlake. Full disclosure: I'm currently not involved with Literacy Advance of Houston in any way but I am a personal friend of its Executive Director and know a member of the Executive Board.

From the very beginning, I felt seen, supported, and genuinely cared for not just as a student, but as a person preparing to step into a professional future. This campus is filled with individuals who don't just do their jobs... they pour into people, and that makes all the difference. Ms. Lynch, our Lead Medical Assistant Instructor, is truly one of a kind. Her passion for teaching goes far beyond the classroom. She is patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly dedicated to making sure every student understands not only the "how" but also the "why." She believed in me even during moments when I doubted myself, and that kind of encouragement is something I will carry with me forever. Dr. Sherman exemplifies leadership, professionalism, and genuine care. Her presence alone reassures you that you are in the right place, and her commitment to student success does not go unnoticed. She leads with integrity and creates an environment where excellence is expected but also supported every step of the way. Mr. Ian Avington in Career Services is truly a blessing. He goes above and beyond to ensure students are not just prepared, but confident stepping into the workforce. His guidance, motivation, and willingness to help at any time made such a lasting impact on me. Ms. Juanice Brice is equally phenomenal. Her kindness, encouragement, and dedication to helping students succeed is unmatched. She makes you feel valued and supported, and she works tirelessly to open doors and create opportunities for each and every graduate. Together, this team represents what true passion, purpose, and service look like. They are more than staff they are mentors, motivators, and life-changers. I can wholeheartedly say that choosing Fortis South Campus was one of the best decisions I've ever made. If you are considering a career in the medical field, this is the place to start. You will be challenged, supported, uplifted, and prepared in ways that go far beyond expectations. Thank you all for being such a powerful part of my journey. I will forever be grateful.
