Hired AWS for window replacement. Out of the three companies we considered, they were the most professional. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but the only company to provide an in-home demo of the actual windows we were purchasing. With such a big home improvement project, you want to feel confident that you made the right choice. Shortly after signing the paperwork, they sent someone out to measure. Then we waited quite a while for the job to be scheduled. Unfortunately, installation occurred during a weeklong heat wave. Yet the guys rarely complained, and spent four full days installing our windows. If I have any complaints, it's about their after sale customer service. The day our installation wrapped up, I noticed a slash in one of the screens, and was assured they'd order a replacement and have it sent to us. Three months later we still had no screen, so my husband and I started calling. Every call was treated as a brand new sales call and no one seemed to know anything about our replacement screen. Finally, someone came out and made us a new screen onsite. However, he re-screened it too tightly, and the frame warped. More phone calls and more confusion on their part made us feel like we were in the twilight zone. Ultimately, we took the frame to their office and they fixed it there, which was an additional inconvenience. Other than these few snafus, we're happy with the work. read more

Advance Window Systems gave us a reasonable quote for new windows and installation, but after paying them $7k up front we still have nothing to show for it four months later. We initially met with a rep from AWS who came to our house, measured windows, and gave us a quote. After a few days, we reached back out with questions and were completely ghosted by her. So we called, learned that the rep was no longer working with AWS, and were assigned a second rep. The second rep repeated the process again. We were happy with the quote, signed, and gave AWS $7K to pay for the first half of a project. AWS then ghosted us again. We signed the agreement in August and heard absolutely nothing for months. We emailed and called our rep multiple times but received no response at all. We finally called the main company line and spoke with their installation manager. They were able to assign installers to come by at the end of the month. The installers showed up on time, but with one glance at the house informed us that they didn't have the right equipment to reach the third story of the house. Nobody from AWS gave them the proper information for the job. So not only is AWS terrible at communicating with customers, but apparently they don't even communicate with the 3rd party they hire to do the actual installations. So, we called AWS again and were assigned a second installer to come in two weeks. You guessed it, a guy showed up, took one look at the house and realized he couldn't do the job either. No one had informed him of the size of the windows, which were too big to install alone. Why did AWS assign a single contractor a job it would take a team to do? Great question. Long story short, AWS is awful at communication and follow-through. They ignored our calls and emails for months, poorly communicated with two different sets of installers, and still don't seem to have a problem taking $7k from us with no real plan for having our windows installed in a timely fashion. read more

Unimpressed is the only word that I can use to describe my most recent experience. I called them to replace two windows that were under warranty. The windows needed replacing since they were showing signs of condensation. Well, after nearly two months of waiting, they showed up and none of the workers were wearing any PPE. No gloves? I know everything is getting blamed on Covid...but two months? The installer showed up and realized two problems: first, the manufacturer sent the wrong window for one of the intended replacements. The second issue: the latter window was apparently assembled wrong (or 'poor' as I would call it) at the factory, in that the glass was manufactured & put in backwards. But that's not even the punchline to this story; it gets better. When my wife asked about how long it would take to get this fiasco resolved, she was told, "Uh, well, yeah you can call to complain." Very unsympathetic and underwhelming response from the installer - who is supposed to be an extension of the brand and the company...or so I thought? Until then, I'm left to watch the tumbleweeds go by and the leaves turn gold, waiting for autumn & looking out my defective, fogged up windows in the meantime. (Sigh) read more

Don't waste your time or money with this company. Dysfunctional and a nightmare of a process. The end project is average, the install was painful and took months to complete. They even found a way to mess up our financing so now I have 2 loans from the same company. read more

I ended up not going with this company to replace my bow windows. Things I learned after going with a more reputable company. I didn't appreciate being held hostage in my own home to endure an excruciating sales pitch. Remember, the person you are speaking with is a salesperson. I had a unique window situation that actually required someone with window installation experience to figure out- so having a sales person sell me the deal didn't put me at ease with respect to how the job would be executed. After you sign the deal a different person comes out to measure... then comes the installation. I don't have time to take off work for all these steps. Why not just send out a qualified person to begin with and save the customer an extra step. I was looking for a better deal and it was very hard for them to move on the price... in such a competitive field, this struck me as being a bit odd. I was told by the salesmen they would send me cookies when the job was completed. I'm sure I'm paying for those and I really just wanted to be assured the job would go well and what was exactly entailed in it. I ended up cancelling my contract that I signed after I was beat down with the presentation- they did return my deposit quickly, that was not a hassle- all in all I'm sure they would have done a good job but that wasn't explained to me and that's an important step to miss. I don't think this is a bad company but after consulting with a smaller, local company... I can tell you the process of replacing windows doesn't have to be hard or draining and it will not cause you to hyperventilate! read more

We hired Advanced to replace 18 of our windows, our gutters, and to replace a French patio door. We had a pleasant experience with our sales person. I will say upfront our new windows are fantastic. I find myself walking by the windows double checking my screens are up because they are so clear, it is unbelievable! Also, the crew of guys that came out to replace them was nothing short of the "A-Team"! I would recommend Dennis and his crew to anyone. Honestly, they were quiet, excellent with my dogs, clean, respectful of my house, friendly, and their attention to detail exceeded my expectations, which is certainly saying something, as my standards are incredibly high! The team was at my house for three days, the patio door was a bugger to get even but I have to give a shout out to Dennis for taking the extra time to make it perfect, I cannot tell you what I watched him go through to get it right and I cannot express how much that attention to detail means to us as homeowners, this guy is something special! Scheduling was super easy; I was communicated with frequently; I always knew what was going on with the job. The whole staff was extremely respectful of our time, and they were there when they said they would be; that's something that is not common anymore with contractors. There were a couple of hiccups that I will briefly go over just so people are aware and ask these questions when they schedule their installs. I did not know that because the windows would be inserts and that I would lose my window box sills. Usually, this would not be a big issue, but I had costly blinds custom cut the year before and would no longer be able to use them due to the cut. I feel that is something that should be discussed with a salesperson when putting together a job. I did speak with Mark; I believe he is the owner, and he was so kind and came up with some ideas to help with the situation. Mark also went and spoke with his sales staff to make sure this is not overlooked again, as this is something they are supposed to review with the customer. I write it off to, my salesperson was new, and it was overlooked. The team at my house was made aware of this, and they were able to adjust my windows in the whole rest of my house just enough that the curtains fit! Again, the crew was spectacular! My only other hiccup was also due to inexperience with the salesperson as well. We have a keyless lock entry with a deadbolt on it. The one that was ordered was bizarre and did not have a deadbolt with the keyless entry which made it pointless. My old set would not work with the new set, so the crew ran out to get me a door handle that matched my old keyless lock to make my door operable. The crew also contacted the office to let them know of this mishap and the sales manager called me not long after to rectify the situation. AWS is sending the correct lock replacement. I must say I was impressed with this company; they mean what they say. I thought it was a nice touch to send someone out after the job to look it over, take pictures, and give us a little gift box. I mean, how many companies do that? None that I have experienced. I am a hard sell, and this company gets my approval 100%! read more

I went on their site yesterday to get a quote and they promptly called back within about 3 -4 hours. I missed their call but I called back today to get started as I need one window at home replaced. The representative Sam/samantha said I need some additional information b4 we get started. I said ok, she started off with name, phone #, etc.. then it went to 'are you married?' Wait?! What?! I said I'm inquiring about a window replacement and what does my marital status have to do with this. So I answered her question and then she pressed & proceeded down this rabbit hole. I said I have a spouse he will not be available for any appointments. Sam said why not? Wtf Sam it's not your business..I said that in my head, but when i answered her aloud i said he will be working.. nope...this answer wasn't good either.. she said you both have to be home for the appointment... I said that is not possible, then Sam said we do late night, evening and weekends.. wait .. you mean to tell me I cant get a window replaced or an appointment because my spouse is not around and who trust my decisions ?! What is this early 1900's ?! You people dont believe I can make my own decisions?! This whole experience was absolutely nutz..but more importantly disconcerting in how you handle potential customers. News flash AWS.. I can make my own decisions. Advanced window systems I am very disappointed.. I hope you see this post and think about a policy change. read more

What a great company. They made picking out a new door so easy. The quality of the door is far better then any other. The only thing better then the door was the great carpenters who came out and installed the door. They ran into some structural issues that they went above and beyond to fix. I can't say enough about this company they really made what I thought would be a dreadful experience a great one. read more

We finally purchased a new door after 8.5 years of having a drafty front door that needed a new, custom lock. After meeting with people from a few different companies, we chose to use AWS due to the calm, non-pushy, knowledgeable demeanor of the representative. I new exactly what kind of door I wanted, and the gentleman from AWS couldn't have been more patient or helpful helping me find it in their extensive catalog of options. He was honest with us about pricing and when the door would be installed. It was just installed this past Friday, and the installers were as nice as everyone else we've met in the company. They were professional, and did a quality job. We love our door more every time we look at it. It really opens up the area, and the drafts are gone forever. I will recommend AWS to anyone I meet or know that needs new doors, windows or siding. Thank you AWS for everything. read more

I met with AWS to discuss a large picture window replacement. Upon arrival the salesperson shared they have a 3 window minimum for jobs which is completely reasonable. They stepped outside to what one could assume call the office to discuss the single large window replacement before coming back inside and saying it was doable and continue with the presentation and discussion. I was pushed to make a decision that day including a suggestion that "we call the bank right now for financing". When it was shared that I'd like to discuss adding storm doors to the project, the meeting ended as another salesperson needed to be involved with door projects and I was told a follow up would be arranged. This never occurred. After I reached out for an update I learned it would only be possible if I had the original door work done by the company. I still wished to discuss the window replacement but was now told a three window minimum was required. Would that have been the case if I had given into the pressure tactic in my home to sign same day as the quote? Who knows. read more

After waiting 10 years we finally had 18 windows put in by AWS and we love them! The windows came in early which was great and the installation was done in 2 days, one guy even stayed late to finish. They installed 18 Windows July 2017, arrived @8am and finished around 3pm. The Installers were very professional, they even helped me put my blinds & curtains back up after the job. Cleaned up was excellent, and they made sure I was comfortable with how to work the window. My home looks so much better. I will be using them to install the other 12 windows I need replaced. The Sales person and office personnel were professional, customer focused and had great communication skills. All was fine until the day of our window installation. The job was scheduled for 2 days. The lead installer pushed in over 90 degree heat and high humidity to complete the job in one day This led to all involved (including the customers) being exhausted and the quality of the job suffered. There was no concern for the customer or any communication with the customer regarding pushing the job to be completed in one day. 3 of our 21 windows have cracks or scratches and need to be replaced. Windows were not cleaned so they had to come back on day 2 anyway. The quality control person that came after the job was completed, was disinterested in customer feedback. Unlike the sales and office personnel, the lead installer and quality control person were not professional, did not consider the customer and did not have great communication skills. read more

My experience was positive from start to finish. Like the other reviewer, I really loved getting a demo of the windows, seeing a real model, understanding the mechanisms and the varying degrees of UV protection. The measurements happened on time, the windows were manufactured very quickly, the installation was done on my schedule, and everyone along the way was very professional and pleasant to deal with. Most importantly, my windows (25 windows! a significant investment) are beautiful. As my son pointed out, "We used to feel cold with the heat on at 74oF; now we are warm with the heat set at 68oF."
