I've been going to advance vision center to see Dr. Lorenzana for many years now. There are times when it gets pretty busy but it's totally worth waiting for her services. I recently had an issue with dry eye syndrome and she recommended an alternative treatment vs getting on prescription drugs first. To my surprise the Eye treatment that was provided for me helped as well as the eye supplements she has. I was able to use my flex savings account money for them so that was a bonus for me. Like all other doctors offices, you must be proactive and ask questions. if prices are concerned then speak up or ask before hand as they won't work with you in terms of payments. She will take the time to explain and offer her suggestions. She believes in continue education and explains things to you in terms that you can understand. which means she has good bedside manners. So if you want to get cheap services and cheap eyeglasses then go to the local optical chain stores around the area. But if you want to build a relationship with your eye doctor and your eyes are very important to you, then take the time to get to know her and the staff. read more

I gave this office chance after chance but I'm done. Constant frustration with having to explain things over and over. Staff does not listen and makes many mistakes in appointments, charges, ordering contacts, etc. Doc expresses her opinions on daily contacts vs biweekly vs monthly. That's fine but don't keep fighting me on my preference just bc it doesn't align with yours. I say that my farsightedness has worsened and she insists that my vision has not changed. Then I'm told it's bc I'm not wearing the progressives as recommended. I was told the progressives were not necessary bc my vision is borderline but that it will just help me adjust when the time comes. I'm told they only come in dailies, which I expressed are not comfortable. I can read fine without glasses or contacts so how would progressives help my farsightedness. I've expressed my vision is affecting my work and I need a reexam. I ask that someone call me but I just receive texts that show they are not listening to my issues. My family will not return. I cancelled my follow up appointment. They asked no questions as to why or how they can help. read more

If you know anything about me or my Yelp reviews (you can just look at my profile), you'll probably agree that I'm pretty understanding and constructive when it comes to local businesses. I realize anyone and any business can have a bad day. And while I don't want to go so far as to say Advanced Vision Center threw me into a fit of rage, I did leave pretty peeved that I wasted over an hour and a half out of my day. The details: About 3 weeks ago I called to schedule an appointment for a contact lense exam for 12pm on May 29. I provided the requisite details and received a reminder a few days prior. Day of the appointment: 12:04pm: I showed up at 4 minutes late and apologized for a being a few minutes behind. 12:05-12:10pm: I filled out new patient paperwork and submitted my insurance card when asked. 12:15pm: An assistant leads me to the back of the practice for the introductory eye scans and tests (through the eye viewers, eye puff test for glaucoma, etc). 12:25pm: I'm led back to the lobby waiting area and told the eye doctor will be with me shortly. 12:55pm: Still waiting. I'm moved to a secondary waiting room, incidentally next to the doctor's closed door office in which I can hear her either speaking to a client or on the phone. I ask the assistant how much longer she think it will take, as I have to get back home for work related calls/appointments. She says "soon." 1:20pm: I walk up to the reception desk and state that I really can't wait much longer, reiterating the reasons I gave previously. The assistant says she'll call in the doctor but she's been busy for the past 30 minutes. She asks me for 10 more minutes and it's unlikely that the doctor would have time to dilate my eyes because of the time crunch. Back to the secondary office I go. 1:30pm: After not hearing from the doctor once this entire time (nor proactively from any assistant during my 1 hour wait), I tell the front desk attendant that I have to leave. I am basically out of time for an exam at this point. She offers up half an apology and asks if I want to reschedule. No thanks. 1:32pm: Back in my car, on my way home, angry that I wasted 1.5 hours at an eye doctor with basically zero explanation and a lame attempt at an apology. Listen, I know doctors of all sorts are busy. Things come up. But guess what? Everyone is busy. Everyone has a schedule to attend to, including patients. If you can't keep close to your schedule and have no qualms asking patients wait over an hour for an eye exam, maybe you should rethink the way you schedule your books. read more

Dr. Lorenzana and her staff are amazing. Everyone in the office is very professional and friendly. Dr. Lorenzana is very warm and genuine, and I trust that she wants the best for me and my eye health! My only complaint is that every time I go I have to wait a very long time to be seen, sometimes up to an hour or more. The staff does their best to take care of the "check up stuff" like the eye puff machine and all that, but I still end up sitting around to see the doctor. read more

My husband and I both needed to find an eye doctor in the area. This was the closest place that our insurance covered, so we gave it a shot. I'm glad we did! The doctor was very sweet, and very knowledgeable. I didn't have to wait long for my appointment, but my husband had yo wait about 30 minutes. He was the last appointment of the day, so they were probably behind at that point. The glasses selection is on the small side, but the choices they have are very stylish. I also got new contacts, and they were able to send me home with a new pair that day, which is really convenient! (They also gave me a bunch of free trails of solution, which was a nice little bonus). read more

Went to Dr. Ingryd Lorenzana, whom I loved. She was able to tell me a lot about my eyes that I haven't heard before, and I've been going to the optometrist for 15 years. Only got a three though because the staff was a little out-of-it. They first gave me the wrong trial contacts even though I assured them my prescription hadn't changed, then they neglected to tell me about the rebate you could get from Accuvue even though I asked (I had to do it from their website). Certainly not a reason to not visit Dr. Lorenzana, but just keep an eye out. read more

The doctor continued to see me to try to help my eyes get adjusted to the glasses and she said I can reach her again if I still have problem... I thought that was nice of her to keep seeing me despite my complaints about the glasses. read more

This place was horrific..the doctor had me waiting for 45 minutes in the consultation room while I could hear the employees attempting to get the doctor to see me. I also think it's unprofessional when the dr. talks down to the staff in front of all the patients..I definitely will not be coming back. I think something as important as vision should not be treated with ignorance which is what this doctor clearly did! read more

Be aware ! They will sell you an "INSURANCE" for your glasses for which you obviously have to pay extra. When accident happen they change their story that you had purchased a "WARRANTY" which is of course not covering an incident!!! When I called them I spoke with Yesenia and she told me that if you'll buy there an eye frame it comes with NO warranty and that's why they charged us extra in the first place (back then they called it an INSURANCE). Long story short... if you want to get aggravated, cheated, loose your money and be frustrated then YES! - go and shop here! Good luck ! read more

I am highly disappointed with the service and care I received from Advanced Vision Center, 19 E. Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL. Waited for OVER 1 HOUR to see the doctor. When I was finally seated, they had messed up my insurance and told me I had to pay all this extra money for stuff. When I told them I wanted to make sure with the insurance company, I was told to take my business elsewhere, which I am doing. read more

My husband and I both have complicated prescriptions, and I have had blepharitis for many years. Over the years, we have both struggled with getting glasses that work well for us. I had pretty much given up hope for both the glasses and the blepharitis. Dr. Lorenzana is a godsend. Not only do I have the best glasses I have ever had, she has offered a treatment plan for the blepharitis that actually works. Anyone who has been living with this condition knows that it's a very frustrating condition with no cure. Her treatment is holistic, and affordable. All of the various medical treatments have failed me after seeing four ophthalmologists over the past ten years. She also recommended an eye make-up brand that doesn't aggravate this condition...I had pretty much given up on wearing mascara. Even the expensive brands like Clinique and Este Lauder were not kind to my eyes. She also identified a problem with my close up vision that all other doctors missed. I now have a prism in my glasses that have made reading a joy again. I am deeply indebted to Dr. Lorenzana. She takes the time to listen to all concerns, and to fully explain treatment plans. She is very patient and I never feel rushed despite asking many questions. Her explanations are detailed, and exams very thorough. And she is a genuinely kind person who cares very much for her patients. I have not felt that she is up-selling products, or padding the bill. She is conservative, and considers the most affordable options first before recommending more expensive treatments. Her staff is wonderful and caring, also taking great time to explain things. She takes most insurance plans. I absolutely love Dr. Lorenzana and highly recommend her. Other reviewers complaining of wait times, I apologize because it was me, or other people like me with complicated issues that kept you waiting. Please know, that her care is changing my life for the better. So please keep this in mind if you are considering choosing her for your eye needs, and that she will spend whatever amount of time is necessary for you too. read more

This place is joke! Very unprofessional, full of incompetent people. I was a new patient so I chose this place because it's near where I live and work. I also read the reviews on here Yelp, pay attention to the filtered reviews they are the ones that gives an accurate description of this place, and they're hidden?!? It was a comedy of errors right from the start. My appointment was at 12:30 pm on a Thursday, so I could go back to work, within an hour or so. The receptionist who was pretty abrasive screwed up my social security number, so my insurance could not be verified. She called me minutes before the actual appointment to get the correct social security number, it was comical... I had to repeat the social security number several times before she could get it right. When I showed up at the office, there were unattended toddlers running around all over the place, which is full of glass shelves and eye glass frames in an already cramped office. I was asked to sign in as I arrived and I noticed from the list, they double, triple booked appointments as there were at least two other parties at 12:30 pm, so I was curious as to how they would handle multiple appointments as there was only one doctor. Of course, I ended up waiting another hour before they could see me! And even then, it wasn't the doctor, it was some other clerical staff member who put me through some standard eye check through those machines, color blindness, etc... Which, took another 30 mins. She asked if I was OK for them to dilate my eyes, I said no since I was to go back to work. And finally I was escorted to the actual eye examination office, waiting for the doctor who never showed up. And funny enough, as I was waiting, people, other patients, kids, I don't know who else, kept poking in and out of the examination office! Out of boredom, I noticed the equipment and machinery was pretty dusty. Finally after 20 mins, another receptionist showed up to tell me she was going to dilate my eyes. I was surprised that there was no communication between the staff members as I had said no earlier. She almost put up fight with me and then she proceeded to tell me the doctor's wasn't available, she didn't know when the doctor would be back and if I didn't want to wait I could reschedule! I was dumbfounded! There were no apologies, I wasn't even offered any other option... After wasting my time there for two hours for absolutely nothing, I had to rush back to work. So I called them back from my car to make sure they delete my account or any information on me such as my social security number etc, credit card number to prevent any charges... The receptionist hung up the phone to my face! IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! I'M CONSIDERING FILING A COMPLAINT, THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. read more

I was NOT Happy with office staff!!! They are cold and uncaring when it came to the care of my sons lazy eye. Constantly cancelling appointments last min. They were forgetting to have my son do testing to check his progress. The doctor is very nice and very smart, but I am now seeking a second opinion with a different office. Which they took forever to fax my sons records. VERY UNPLESANT experience!!!! read more

I have been going to adavanced vision center quite a bit through the past years and i have to admit the clinque is very disapointing, on the contrary they have helped my daughter tremendously with her vision but their wait time is unbearable. The minimum we have ever waited there is roughly 2 hours! It has been so bad with the amount of wait time that i had to bring dinner for my son every time my daughter went for therapy. I do though understand that every business can have a rough day but i have been taking my children there for 5+ years for checkups and therapy and its always the same thing. As well as today when i called to receive my husband's prescription. They specifically told me that it would be ready by 1:00. So i went at 2:00 just to be prepared that it would be there and they told me that it would be ready in a couple minutes so i waited and waited and at about 2:30 they said its "almost" done. So than 15 minutes later i just left because of the ridiculous wait and there excuse was that their printer wasnt working . Im glad we are relocating, so i dont have to go through this aggravation again. read more
