I remembered this local place that allowed you to drive up for on-the-spot repair and they work on your tire(s) while you wait in your car, so I decided to give them a try and I'm really glad I did. When I arrived there were a couple of cars ahead of me, which wasn't a big deal since this place is similar to a drive-thru you allowing you to conveniently wait your turn in your car. They work pretty quickly here and before I knew it I'm pulling forward to get my tire looked at. The mechanic was friendly, respectful, and took the time to listen to what was going on with my tire. He quickly got the tire off, diagnosed the problem, and explained what needed to be done in plain language. The problem was with the valve stem, which had a leak. The mechanic got right to work making the repair and explaining to me what he was doing. The work was done efficiently and correctly, and he made sure everything was explained to my satisfaction. There was no pressure, no upselling, and no runaround; just honest work and solid service. Oh, and the cost of this repair was less than 25 bucks! I couldn't believe I received this much service and such great work at this price point. What makes this place stand out to me is the customer service from all of the staff, but in particular the mechanics themselves that are actually working on your car. Usually, the people working on your car are hidden in a garage somewhere while you wait in a waiting room, so you never actually meet the mechanic working on your car. At Mac's you are up close and personal to the mechanic. That's a huge plus in my book. You can tell this is a local business that actually cares about its reputation and all of the customers coming there. It's the kind of shop where they remember you, talk to you with respect, and make sure you leave satisfied. If you're tired of chain shops and want to support a local business that does quality work and treats customers right, this is the place to go. I am including a brief description of the condition of the vehicle when I arrived at Radial Tire Monday (2/16/26) at 2:00pm. The receiving manager and I discussed the tire issues and history. I told him I had a service light in the dash that was saying a tire was low on air and they were new tires (vs the previous service light for sensors not functioning). He measured the tire pressure of all the tires and they were all at different psi (33, 34, 42 and 18). My vehicle was placed in a service line and I waited in a lobby for approximately an hour. Radial tires took the low tire off the vehicle and tested it for leaks and determined the problem was that a valve stem hadn't been correctly sealed, the tires were all fine. Before leaving the work bay, I noticed the sensor light was still on, so a retest determined the driver's front sensor was going bad and it was replaced. The service manager told me Toyota and Lexus have challenging tire sensors, that they can often get one sensor working and the computer will then say another good sensor stopped working. I left Radial Tire around 4:30, problems solved and paid for one new sensor and install. I've had several people tell me Radial Tire is the BEST in this area and they will have all of my business in the future and that of anyone I know. I had had a tire problem for just a day (!), and the prospect of store-shopping was enervating me. I decided to take the timing of the ad as a sign from God and tried the place out. Sometimes God acts in ways that blow my mind, especially with car problems, which He knows I have zero talent for. The shop is at a corner of a Hanover Parkway and Greenbelt Rd. in Greenbelt. The staff of about four could not have been nicer to me! As I observed them, they seemed extremely knowledgeable. They gave me free car advice that I had never thought of needing, but it was obvious that they were right. And check out their incredible open hours! You can park in the shade of some trees when it's sunny, but do not look for any amenities here. The manager is John. Don't be put off by the Spanish outgoing message in a female voice, which does not give any information but just tells you to leave a message. It is a bare-bones establishment at the side of a gas station. Maybe that is why their prices were so incredibly low. And if you speak Spanish, there is some staffer who will explain anything to you in that language. Note the number of stars I gave and try it out. The reviewer who complained about the age of the smokeless tobacco had to have been talking about the gas station. Maryland Tire deals only with cars and has no nonautomobile-related products to sell, tobacco or otherwise. The people know all about cars and other local establishments; they even gave me referrals for body work. Ask any questions about your car.

I tried another mechanic for my Honda Civic, but it just wasn't the service I wanted or expected. So, fast forward to an issue with my window. Long story short, I had it replaced by a certain well-known company, and three months later it wouldn't roll all the way up. They came back out to honor the lifetime warranty only to tell me it was the regulator. IMO they/he was responsible for breaking the regulator, as there was no problem with the window until it was replaced. There was definitely a nexus. But I digress. Instead of having to search for another mechanic in Baltimore, I just returned to what I already knew was good--Auto Tech. Todd and family are very personable and make you feel like you're at home. They're not trying to cheat you out of your hard-earned money by making up things that need to be repaired. If there's an issue, they'll lay out your options and let you choose which route you'd like to take. Again, I'm in Baltimore. But that's not a problem, as their waiting area is superb. You'll find the Wi-Fi code right there where you can see it. At one point Todd came out and said I could change the channel if I wanted to. They've got a nice coffee machine, snacks, and leather chairs that are as comfortable as the ones I have at home. My AC was also running warm so they checked that and topped it off. I also had them check my brakes. And they quickly repaired my window. The price was very reasonable. So, I'll just have to keep coming back to Bowie to have my Honda Civic serviced. No problem.
