We had a huge tree fall onto our house and Advanced Tree and Shrub Care came out and removed it. North Texas Crane Service brought a giant crane and the two companies worked together flawlessly. This was a HUGE project. Colton and his crew were incredible to watch as they handled the giant tree. They have been taking care of my trees since 1991. Dave and Megan were great as well as Travis. The turnover is high due to the owner's attitude. They have actually ruined the look of my two biggest trees my red oak which is 22 years old and has no canopy and my shumard oak 22 years old has several huge holes in the canopy and it looks horrible. I have been very patient but the trimmers have no clue and now I am stuck with ugly ugly not pruned properly trees in my front and back yard. It makes me sick...yeah they say they take care of sick trees well Rick Z the owner when I moved in told me to take out my sweet gums and my husband and I did not do it thank goodness they are the prettiest trees I have now. I am so sad they don't save anything...they just save money they have taken from you and that is it. read more

Advanced trimmed up our large oak and smaller trees such as a Ginkgo. They also re-braced our cedar elm. Dave/arborist came out for the estimate and was very non-salesey non-aggressive which we like. The crew that showed up was very experienced and cleaned up perfectly. read more

These guys do great work. Very honest, very professional. They certainly know trees. They once told us that there was no point in working on the hackberries on our property line because of their limited life span. Boy, were they right! That said, make sure to keep a copy of your receipt somewhere where you can find it again. I'm not sure that their bookkeeping is the best and it can be months before you know that your service order was not closed out properly. Don't let that dissuade you. These guys are great. Great at first meet and greet with estimate. However, that's where it ended. We had to make a date change and service change that they couldn't quite figure out how to update or modify a simple quote. Customer service are absolutely unaccommodating and sad. Who has time. read more

Couldn't get past the initial phone call. They wanted $85 to send the arborist out to diagnose the problem. That's ridiculously high to eyeball a tree when I could send them a photo for free, and they don't apply it to the price if you hire them. Besides, it's crepe myrtle bark scale and I don't need a professional to tell me that. The receptionist made a big deal about the arborist's qualifications, but what good is it if he doesn't get hired because the price is outrageous? I couldn't even pry a ballpark estimate for pricing out of them so I could decide whether to gamble the $85. Is it $500 to treat a couple of small bushes? $1000? Who knows? That's a really uncooperative way to run a business, especially when you're talking about trees that are small enough for me to treat with something out of a bottle from Home Depot. Why would I spend $85 to play mystery pricing? read more

We are very happy with the wonderful job Advanced Tree & Shrub recently completed on our trees and shrubs. Dave, an Arborist, came out, made some recommendations, and developed a plan. Jeff and Ryan came out and did a fantastic job trimming the trees. I highly these guys. Megan handled each call and made sure every step was done right and on time. Very disappointing experience. Initial call was to get an estimate on saving a Cherry Laurel which had struggled for a couple of years. They gave an estimate (which they charged for) and in addition to the Cherry Laurel they indicated all my trees and shrubs would benefit from fertilization. I agreed and when they fertilized, they ruptured my drip irrigation system in 6 places. They did repair the ruptures once I discovered them. They also indicated an oak tree needed to be treated for gall, and they couldn't treat it until the leaves shed, so they assured me they would be back to treat it in January. When they did not show up in January, I called to see why, and they indicated that would be a separate charge and they would send someone out for another estimate. No Thanks! To add insult to injury, the struggling Cherry Laurel only got worse and died after their treatment. read more

I'm not sure if I will use them again or not. My experience was puzzling to say the least. Sent an email to request estimate. Was called promptly by Megan in the office. She said it would be 2 weeks to schedule estimate. Okay. Dave came out at appointed time & quickly gave me an estimate. He told be the office would contact me to schedule the crew. The estimate was between 250-300$. They were shaping 2 trees. I also wanted some wild limbs removed from one of the trees that were too close to the house. Okay. So the crew came on the date and time indicated. They never rang the doorbell or said hello. They just got to work. Then they left without being paid, without asking me if I was satisfied with the work, without ever speaking to me. It was odd. I called the office & talked to Megan. First she told me they would need to reschedule Dave out & gave me a time. Then she called back within a few minutes and said actually, she talked to the crew & they could come back within an hour. They were here 2.5 hours later. I explained why I had asked them to come back (to fix one tree & to get paid, lol!) & they did it, but they didn't seem too happy with me. It was just a strange set of interactions and a job that could have been brief used up most of my day. I get that mistakes happen, but this is a business and they need to train their crews to be more service oriented. The actual job they did was okay, but it isn't super obvious that the trees have been trimmed. They were okay. I'm thinking I might use a different service next time. read more

We found this place through craigslist and are so glad we did! They have already cut firewood in huge piles. We filled up our truck bed for $65. If you want to do a little work yourself, that is lots cheaper than other places. We had no issues, the place is easy to find and we will use them for our firewood needs for now on. read more

Beginning with the contact in the office friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and last but not least professional. Tree care is expensive but (in my experience) very important. Therefore, I was willing to pay the cost. read more

We had two large 10 year old red oak trees taken care of by Advanced Tree Care and both trees died. The largest tree was showing signs of wilting leaves so we called and waited 5-6 days for them to come out. They said, "give the tree more water," we did do that but the wait time for them to get here was to long and the tree died. The other tree was doing great according to their report on November 14, 2016 when they took care of the tree. Much to our surprise the tree never leafed out this summer 2017, so it also has to be taken out. Their explanation was there are girgling roots and that has killed the tree. These girgling roots on top of the ground are usually cut off when they service the tree. They say cutting them off may kill the tree but not cutting them of sure as heck will kill the tree. We have spent alot of money having these trees taken care of and now are looking at the expense of tree removal and putting in new trees. Their extimate for tree removal is the highest of five we have gotten. The fact is our trees died while they were taking care of them. We are gouged again with a estimate that is 50% higher then other estimates we have gotten for tree removal. read more
