Not only did they not listen to my needs, the whole time they offered solutions that cater to what they want instead of what I want. 1. They recommend dual zoning which cost about the same amount as installing a new mini split. I have a single state HVAC which isn't recommended for dual zone install. 2. They keep pushing for fixing/upgrading central instead of installing mini splits. 3. They keep asking for my budget (red flag), talking up high end units (red flag), talking down low end units (red flag). Look, we all know Mitsubishi and Daikin are the top of the line. However, the cost of DOUBLE of the price of lower end models isn't due to just superior quality and technology. Heat pumps and mini splits are not new technology. One isn't vastly superior to another. Yes, it may be better, but not double the price better. The cost are always due to the commissions and kickbacks for these installers. That's marketing and salesmanship, but please be more transparent next time. Finally, I asked for quotes and options so I can decide. The person walked away disappointed and I suspect they think they lost a sale because of the way I did not want the highest end models and stayed firm with my mini split request. I sensed the guy walked away disappointed. Yet I still expected a courtesy quote like the other installers. They never sent it. I was not surprised. In the end, I decided that a whole system upgrade to mini-splits (30% more efficient just from being ductless alone) with rebates made more sense instead of add ons to existing system. But these guys did help me cross them off the list and went with the installer who actually listened to my needs and gave the recommendation and options that I wanted. I do not recommend these guys. They will push for the highest cost system and will ghost you if you appear to be knowledgeable enough to call them out on it.

Damn, it's been a couple of months now and I've been able to control the climate of my entire house from my phone, optimizing the temperature and sometimes making it as low as 66F to just enjoy the air being crisp. The install has been fantastic quality and the crew listened to everything I wanted every step of the way. They mounted rat spikes where I wanted, they put the lines and the units exactly where I asked and I've had no issues at all. In fact, he made numerous trips to our house to answer the constant flow of questions my wife and I had. Bottom line, we built a solid working relationship with Michael and this gave us the comfort we needed to move forward with our HVAC investment. Calvey Heating and Air's estimate for a new heat pump and furnace at our house was very competitive. I was amazed at how much the pricing varied from vendor to vendor. Michael and the Calvey team made the entire process seamless from start to finish. Michael recommended an electrician who did a great job with our electric panel upgrade and the permit team did a fantastic job working with the city for all of the required paperwork. When it came time for the installation, the lead installer, Servando, and his team took pride in their work for the two day install. Similar to Michael, they were patient with me and answered all my questions during the install. Following the install, the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Team promptly arrived and conducted the necessary testing. Lastly, the permit team met with the city building inspector to successfully get the city sign off on all of the work. Throughout the entire process, Calvey Heating and Air did a great job choreographing and managing all aspects of the installation. I was constantly kept informed and Michael and his team visited our house daily during the installation to ensure all was moving forward properly. Lastly, a final walk-through was conducted by Johnny from Calvey ensuring that the install was 100% perfect. Once my wife and I have had time to work with and get familiar with our new system, Michael indicated he will have his team come by our house and balance out our vents if needed and answer any additional questions we may have. We do have an annual maintenance plan to ensure smooth running. This time, Agustin came out and he provided excellent service. He's actually the first tech to come out and clean our compressor with a detergent! Usually they just spray water. He also noticed we were missing a pollen filter and suggested the best way to find replacements on line. After the visit he sent us photos documenting everything he worked on.
