I had a battery replaced in a motion detector, they charged me $80.00 for $5.00 battery, and a $100.00 for a service call. All in 10 minutes, I don't mind the service call, but the battery fee was a bit excessive. Plan to do my own trouble shooting from now on. read more

Our previous security company recently handed over the business to Advanced Security Systems and so far we have been delighted with their professional and efficient operation. They promptly notified us when the alarm was triggered due to a window left ajar. They always answer the phone promptly (you'd think this would be obvious, but the previous company had less than stellar communications capabilities) and provide useful information regardless of the reason for our call. We've used Advanced for many years for access control and fire system testing. Recently we switched over to Stanley Security for our access control, a change which left many of us musing why we left Advanced at all given the amount of problems we had getting things working with Stanley. In any case, since the time we made the decision to switch and then actually making the change the Advanced lead service person relocated. And since that time their service has improved markedly. Now instead of calling to get a missed inspection done they're calling us to remind us of inspections coming up. They've definitely upped their game. Have had an Allied Alarms, now Advanced Security Systems, alarm for over 30 years, with almost no problems until Oct. 2020, a technician came to check on the cause of what had become an occasional, but persistent alarm from one of the window sensors. The tech removed a part of the sensor, to eliminate the source, and said someone would contact me to update my system to correct the problem and to install smoke and CO2 detectors. That contact occurred and the quoted cost for this FIX was early $4000.00 dollars. I told the representative that seams out of line for what is needed, and was told he would check with the first tech and get back to me. I'm STILL WAITING FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, but the initial issue appeared to be resolved, so I did not see this matter as an urgency, until two weeks ago, when the bad alarm sensor went crazy, and I had to have the system disabled by a neighbor. I was told someone would contact me the next business day, which was over two weeks ago and I'm STILL WAITING. And they requested their customers to provide a review for them, and I question why when theY OBVIOUSLY have such poor customer relations. read more

I arranged an appointment with Jim to test and perform any necessary maintenance on the fire alarm system at the residential rental property that I own and manage and then gave notice to all of my tenants that the work was going to be done so that they could make other arrangements to not be home since the alarms were going to be sounded. (Two of my tenants work nights so this was very displacing to them). When the appointment day arrived no one from Advanced Security showed up! After I called their offices no one including Jim and even the owner, Chuck in the Eureka office even had the courtesy or professionalism to call me back! All I received was a very unprofessional and rather childish email from Jim saying "if we had an appointment and I missed it sorry, let me know when you'd like to reschedule". Well, I did reschedule....with another company. As you should as well...don't even bother with this crew. read more
