Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. A couple of weeks in and we've had snow, rain and strong winds. Everything is still perfect. I can highly recommend Mikel and Jurgan from Golden Group, Hudson.

Our experience from KAJ Construction was fantastic from start to finish…read more In the fall of 2024 we requested quotes from a number of contractors for our (fairly big) project . . . the house needed all siding and exterior trim replaced plus a number of new windows including two large bays. The estimator and project manager Kevin Foley came out and met with us several times to review the project, our options, and also provided us a lot of advice during the process that would have been helpful irrespective of whether we decided to move forward with KAJ. The quote we received from KAJ was fair and transparent, which was not the case with many of the other contractors we spoke with. The combination of the fair quote, our discussions with Kevin Foley, and a review of the company's past work gave us confidence that KAJ Construction was the best choice for the job and we engaged them for our project. The crew showed up on time every day and were very professional for the entire duration. After stripping the existing siding there was a significant amount of rotten wood including a portion of the sill that needed to be replaced (which we anticipated given the poor state of the home exterior); KAJ was able to replace all necessary spots and did so at a reasonable cost. The owner of the company, Alecandro Carvalho, as well as Kevin Foley the project manager came by frequently to check on the progress and review the work with us. They were both extremely communicative throughout the project and were also a great resource for us in terms of what we wanted for a finished product. As part of the project we decided to replace all of the windows (30+) as well as an exterior door; while we initially thought this would have been out of our budget KAJ was able to get us great pricing on some quality windows and it made sense to replace them all at once. The window installation went seamlessly and they replaced and painted all of the interior window trim for us as well. Additionally the ceiling in our sunroom had significant water damage due to leaks with the prior windows, which KAJ was able to replace, insulate, and paint for us. Overall the house came out great. We are extremely happy with the new siding and windows and the quality of the workmanship done by KAJ. Every little detail was taken care of, down to the installation of new exterior light fixtures, a flag mount, and house numbers. Working with Alecandro and Kevin was a pleasure for the entire time, and we would highly recommend KAJ to others considering a similar home project.

This was a high end job priced competitively - a window wall, eyebrow window, hardwood interior trim, exterior PVC trim. I have done my share of trim carpentry and appreciate exquisite quality when I see it. I got it here. There's no caulking bad joints with stained hardwood. They were as clean as could be - I've never seen a contractor have one guy hold a vacuum to catch the dust made by a saw. They cut no corners. I didn't plan on replacing the rest of the windows for a few years, but given the quality I got I'm proceeding with the rest now.

My needed work (new vinyl siding and windows) that UBrothers Construction did on my house was outstanding. For me to see the transformation was a very satisfying process. The workmanship was top quality. Andrii (Project Manager) who manages the project did an excellent job on the logistics of the project i.e. the ordering of the supplies, the scheduling, the personnel, the flow of the manpower needed on the job (also checking on the work and addressing any concerns). Their tradesmen are very professional and courteous, if you have an issue, they will look into fixing it. UBrothers finish products are quality craftmanship because I see the fitted joints are aligned up perfectly and straight. They understand the customers' needs and alleviate any pitfalls. They cleaned up at the end of every day on the job rather well. At the end of the job, all the utilities (mailbox hookup, doorbell, street address #, exterior wall lights, etc.) were re-established. I strongly recommend UBrothers. I would use them again. They have the professionalism and the talent to get the jobs completed skillfully and finished on time.

Before starting this project, we must have interviewed half a dozen different contractors, and G stood out due to his extensive experience in the trades and his personality. He demonstrated a strong knowledge base and communicated frankly and earnestly, avoiding any aggressive sales tactics or upselling. Throughout the project, G's entire crew was very hard-working and respectful. As the work progressed, they uncovered several underlying issues that had been hidden beneath the existing roof. G took the time to review these findings with us and ensured we understood the recommended steps to address them. His willingness to engage in conversation and consider our input was refreshing and made the process much smoother. Fast forward nearly two years later, we can confidently say that we have experienced no issues with the roof, skylights, or windows. I was introduced to Matt through another company when my Cambridge condo had recent extensive water damage, causing somewhere between $40-50K in damages / repairs. I live in California now, and rent my condo out. Matt took all the stress off my plate. He was available right away, ALWAYS responsive in phone, text or email, and worked seamlessly with my insurance. Due to the damages, I had to have flooring and sub flooring taken out and reinstalled, walls opened up, repaired, new cabinets, new paint throughout the condo, reinstall a granite countertop, a new backsplash, along with electric and plumbing work...he took care of either doing or coordinating it all. He went above and beyond, with nothing going unnoticed. He came across many obstacles along the way, but would call me once there was a solution to the problem, or after it was already taken care of. I can't recommend Matt enough for how much he has helped my sanity with my dealing with this from across the country. He has done an incredible job from start to finish.
