He set expectations that my phone may not recover but that he would try to dry out the components and inspect the damage anyways despite being very busy and a lot of customers coming in. He was able to dry out my phone and luckily it's working pretty great so far! I really appreciate that he made the effort and took the time to try to help me rather than suggesting I just go get another phone. A full hour after I contacted customer service, I was rudely told I had actually purchased the item from a third party and BB wasn't responsible that my only recourse was to deal with the vendor directly. They said they had no responsibility other than giving me the vendors email! I checked the charge and it went to Best Buy not some other vendor. So I reached out again. After another hour, I was speaking with a real human at BB, who told this issue constantly happened with 3rd party returns but they would help me through the process. However a few minutes later was abruptly told they couldn't help me any further and they terminated the call. Luckily I charged it on Amex so I imeadeatly opened contested charge case against BB. Well wouldn't you know, the very next day I get a message from BB with a link to print a return shipping label! Now I have done business with third party vendors on Amazon and some other major websites, they always honor the return and not try to weasel out of the responsibility. A customer shouldn't have to file a case against a company to get reasonable service. I will never do business with Best Buy ever again and I urge everyone not to do business with them either.
