I arrived on the date and time that the receptionist told me that I had the appointment. I was apologetically informed that my appointment was actually scheduled for this other date which I told the receptionist very specifically I could NOT attend. I rescheduled even though it took a lot of effort to get to the office in July when people were still not leaving their homes that often due to COVID. Then I became sick. I called and informed the office that I was sick and not able to come in. Traditionally, during the time of COVID, being sick is acceptable. I then rescheduled but had something urgent come up and had to reschedule again. When I called again I was informed that they did not feel comfortable rescheduling me because I had canceled 4 times! I was shocked that they said that because the first time was not my fault and I only recalled two other cancellations which were for good cause. Regardless of feeling like the office was unusually aggressive and not sympathetic, I assured them I would come in. It took conversations with several people in the office as well as a long wait on hold to get the appointment for today. This morning, I called to share with the office I was running 15 min late for my 10am appointment when I could see traffic was really building up. This receptionist was very nice and explained to me that there was someone at 10:30am after I was to arrive but to come regardless. After hanging up, during my drive into the city, I became stuck behind a very inconsiderate trash truck. Blocked for quite a bit of time, I called and informed the receptionist that I was now going to arrive at 10:25 and after parking most likely get to actual office by 10:30. Since, I am going to have to pick up my husband in Brooklyn to go get the COVID vaccination a half hour from our home in Brooklyn, I shared my concern with getting out of their office in time for my 12:30pm vaccine appointment. I shared my concern with rescheduling due to the pushback and difficulty in scheduling this appointment. With compassion, this receptionist rescheduled me for Monday. I was relieved. Within minutes she called back and informed me that due my FIVE NO SHOWS I am no longer able to make an appointment and I had the find another doctor to go to. I explained to her that this is really surprising behavior during a time of COVID where people are not wanting people to come in sick and considering the first appointment mistake was not my fault. She hung up on me. If you are not interested in an office that lacks compassion during the time of COVID and not take responsibility for their mistakes, and label you a NO SHOW when you are needing to reschedule, this place is not for you. read more
