As a former employee, here's a little insight on what to expect if you're planning on buying hearing aids. 1) After you purchase hearing aids, you get a 45 day "trial period". After that, you will be charged per visit which will range from $25-$185 providing you're still in warranty. And you'll be in every 3-4 months for adjustments. Sometimes more if you are having issues with them. Within that 45 day trial period, if for whatever reason you no longer want the hearing aid, you can return it but if you choose to do so, there is a $335 non refundable fee. But depending when they were purchased, the fee may be more. 2) Each hearing aid typically comes with a 3 year warranty. The manufacturer will include an invoice along with their warranty per hearing but Audiology Island will NOT provide that to you. I know this because we are informed to shred them prior to stocking them to their inventory. To know your correct warranty, all you have to do is call the manufacturer of the hearing aid you purchased (Signia, resound, oticon, etc) give them your name and serial number and they will inform you the length of your warranty. this is the most accurate way of knowing. In most cases, audiology island will provide you with their OWN warranty which is typically 1-2 years. But if you're a medicaide or third party insurance, they will automatically give you the three year warranty because those two insurance companies make it a priority to inform their clients of their warranty. If you are given a 1 or 2 year warranty, when that time frame is up, you will be charged $100 per hearing aid per year if you make the choice to extend it. Prior to doing so, I urge you to contact your hearing aid manufacture to know for sure if your warranty has actually expired or not. 3) If you want wax removed, I recommend going to your ENT Dr simply because your insurance will cover it. You may have to pay a copay depending on which insurance you have. Audiology island will charge $75 PER EAR for ear wax removal unless you give a 5 star review WITH a written review to get money off your visit. 4) If you're having issues with your hearing aid and you find yourself continuing to have those same issues, if it's still in its warranty, the manufacture of that hearing aid will replace it with a new one and their office will charge ONLY $25. If you need a replacement for whatever reason the issue may be, you're entitled to it. Just as long as you're in warranry. 5) If you have medicaide or a third party insurance and you've been approved for hearing aids, just be in contact with your insurance company on when the hearing aids have been sent to their office to be sure you can be fitted in a timely manor without having to wait a long time frame to receive them. When you first arrive to your apartment, you're greeted with exceptional service. Definitely 5 stars for customer care. But if you're purchasing hearing aids, I urge you to contact the manufacturer (signia, resound, etc) prior to getting them to see what your LEGIT warranty time frame is. In most cases, their office will give you a 1-2 year warranty which isn't always true which is why I urge you to contact the manufacturer. The reason why I urge you to do so is because if your warranty happens to "expire", you will be charged an additional fee of $100 PER hearing aid PER additional year if you choose to extend it. Contact the manufacturer prior to doing so because your hearing aids may very well have a longer time frame warranty without you actually knowing. For financial reasons, by law, you will be given a 45 day trial period to see whether or not you like the hearing aids. You may return the hearing aids within that time frame if you don't like them but there is a hefty non-refundable fee. After you pass your 45 day trial period, you will be charged per visit, ranging anywhere from $25-185 depending whether or not you're in warranty. Typically you'll be in the office every 3-4 months and sometimes more. Depending if you're having continuous issues with your hearing aids. read more

IA accommodated my daughter for an appointment within one week of calling due to a last minute change in insurance. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and got back to me with a personal phone call. Upon arrival, my 18 month old daughter was greeted with friendly faces and a welcoming environment. Each worker that assisted with our appointment was patient and kind to my daughter, as well as myself. The audiologist took her time and did not rush our appointment. We also had no wait time and were seen exactly at our appointment time. When leaving, the receptionist offered to forward my daughter's results to the hospital and went above and beyond to get them there the same day. She followed up with a confirmation email that evening. IA was a great experience and I highly recommend them. read more

I've been coming to Audiology Island now for about three and a half years, and I have to say I'm very satisfied with the professionalism of the staff and the doctors. They have their patient care all the time in mind. And now I adjusted myself to new hearing aids. I went up a little step, and it makes a big difference.
