After hearing the news from my ENT doctor that I should obtain hearing aids, I was so upset and worried about this change in my life. I decided to go to Long Island Hearing and was seen by Dr. Christine Kent. She was so friendly that even during our first meeting I felt as if I knew her for years! It was such a comfort. After her initial evaluation she explained everything to me. Her knowledge in this field is so incredible that she truly made me feel so relaxed and made me understand the value that hearing aids would add to my life. She made my decision to obtain hearing aids an easy one. I can remember the first day Dr. Kent helped me put my hearing aids in, I was amazed that I was able to hear her pen making a sound as she wrote something on a piece of paper at her desk. It was a sound that I have not heard in a very very long time. I was beyond thrilled, and better yet, she was just as excited for me as I was! I've been a patient now for over 7 years and throughout that time Dr. Kent has kept me current with new technology and advancements with my hearing aids. She has been simply wonderful, and always available and willing to help when needed. Not only is Dr. Kent great, but the whole staff is so friendly as well. I rarely take the time to submit reviews of service providers; however, because of the exceptionally high quality of service I received from Dr. Christine Kent and her staff at Long Island Hearing, I believe that I should share my experience. I strongly recommend Long Island Hearing for hearing tests and hearing aid equipment. I originally purchased my first set of hearing aids from another company. Unfortunately, I had a number of maintenance issues with the devices and that other company struggled to resolve the issues. As a result, I made an appointment with Long Island Hearing and Dr. Christine was quickly able to resolve the problem with the equipment. This initial visit to Long Island Hearing was over was over six years ago. Because of this initial visit, I began to make all of my follow-up visits with Long Island Hearing for tests and routine maintenance. The initial company I used did not provide routine cleaning of the devices and that was probably the root cause of the problems that I had prior to switching to Long Island Hearing. Dr. Christine schedules me for maintenance visits every four months to clean the devices and replace any marginal components. Unless a major part needs to be replaced, she does not charge for this work. In addition, the support staff has always been friendly and willing to make an accommodation any time I needed an appointment on short notice or to reschedule an already scheduled appointment. I had a hearing test at L.I. Hearing and was told I could use a hearing aid on my right ear. I knew I had nerve damage on my right side from tests from a doctor I had seen years ago who said a hearing aid might not help. Bill Kent, owner of L.I. Hearing, called me at home when I was undecided on whether to purchase one hearing aid because of the price. Bill Kent told me that he could get me one refurbished hearing aid at the cost of $1200. He assured me that it was a solid investment and would always hold it's monetary value and when the time came when I wanted to upgrade the hearing aid I could apply the value to a new hearing aid. On May 11, 2020 I took the hearing aid for service and found out that a circuit went bad and my warranty had expired in March. I am a first responder (volunteer firefighter) and we are in a pandemic. New York State closed in March. Bill Kent told me my hearing aid had no value since a circuit went bad and that he could sell me a new hearing aid for $2500. He refused to give me any exception on the warranty during this medical crisis we are experiencing. I will never go back due to his lack of compassion and just simple lack of customer service during this pandemic. I will say that his daughters are a pleasure to work with. It's just too bad their dad doesn't possess the qualities of his daughters. read more

I've had hearing aids almost my whole life, I've gone to many different places to get hearing test and to get hearing aids fitted. Long Island hearing is truly amazing. You are greeting by the nicest people in the front office. I had Christine, she was very patient with me and even got me to try new things. I love my new in the ear canal hearing aids. I've had over the ear hearing aids my whole life and I was so nervous to switch but now I love it. Getting new hearing aids can be stressful especially for someone who doesn't like change (me lol).
