I have been going to audiologists since 2007. I have a severe/profound hearing loss and use a Cochlear BAHA on the right side and a standard hearing aid in the left ear. My BAHA broke and the ENT's audiologist directed to deal with Cochlear directly regarding the repair. This will take approximately 6 weeks, leaving totally dependent on my left standard hearing aid since I am basically deaf without a hearing device. Then my left ear hearing aid stopped functioning. Most ENT doctors do not provide hearing aids and their audiologists are mainly for diagnosis. I walked into see William Kent, Jr. very desperate and prepared to purchase a new standard hearing aid so I could function in daily life. Bill Kent is the best audiologist that I have encountered in all my experience with hearing loss, hearing devices and deafness in my right ear. He took the time to hear my story and understand my desperation. He, then, thoroughly checked out my non working hearing aid, found the problem and fixed it. He activated the module on the hearing aid so I could adjust the volume myself. (I had previously been told by a former audiologist who sold me this hearing aid that the model automatically adjusted the volume. Not true.) My ability to hear is so much better-even without the BAHA. I can hear as I wait for Cochlear to decide if my insurance will cover the repair or I will have to pay out of pocket. This review is long overdue but I wanted to tell everyone how wonderful the Long Island hearing in Levittown is. My mother is 87 years old and very hard of hearing. For over two years she has had difficulties with her hearing aids that she bought in Florida. She is now living in ny and she finally admitted she can't hear. When I called the office to make an appointment the front desk could not have been more pleasant and accommodating . From the time I hung up the phone I knew this was the right place to bring my mother. When we arrived Rosalie not only greeted us warm and welcoming but beyond that she made sure my mom got in with her walker and was comfortable. From beginning to end everyone in the front desk was terrific. My mother was seen by Jennifer who along with her staff has the patience of a saint dealing with the elderly. She gave my mother a full hearing test and explained everything she was doing so my mom understood. She also was warm and friendly and very thorough. My mothers hearing aids are old and needed a good cleaning and overhaul. Never once did she say she needed new aids or she should consider getting new ones. She could have and we would never had known any different. My mother is like a new person who can hear again and loves being able to hear and not always read lips. This is a great office. I had a hearing test at L.I. Hearing and was told I could use a hearing aid on my right ear. I knew I had nerve damage on my right side from tests from a doctor I had seen years ago who said a hearing aid might not help. Bill Kent, owner of L.I. Hearing, called me at home when I was undecided on whether to purchase one hearing aid because of the price. Bill Kent told me that he could get me one refurbished hearing aid at the cost of $1200. He assured me that it was a solid investment and would always hold it's monetary value and when the time came when I wanted to upgrade the hearing aid I could apply the value to a new hearing aid. On May 11, 2020 I took the hearing aid for service and found out that a circuit went bad and my warranty had expired in March. I am a first responder (volunteer firefighter) and we are in a pandemic. New York State closed in March. Bill Kent told me my hearing aid had no value since a circuit went bad and that he could sell me a new hearing aid for $2500. He refused to give me any exception on the warranty during this medical crisis we are experiencing. I will never go back due to his lack of compassion and just simple lack of customer service during this pandemic. I will say that his daughters are a pleasure to work with. It's just too bad their dad doesn't possess the qualities of his daughters. read more

I took my 89 year old Mom for a visit with Bill Jr. My father just passed away a few months ago. Bill was patient, kind and compassionate. He gave time for my mom to talk and he truly listened. Bill fit my mom with wonderful hearing aids that are allowing her to live life to the fullest. As my Mom was hesitant before meeting Bill, she immediately relaxed, feeling confident that she was in the best of hands. Not only was she taken care of with an expert in the field, she laughed, we both did, as Bill is extremely funny! It was a wonderful visit as he treated her as I would imagine he would treat his own mother. He gave my mom all the time she needed to leave the office feeling confident that she knew how to work her new hearing aids. I myself must say that the hearing aids are so small, you can't even tell she has them in! My mom's quality of life is now elevated to a new level, under the kindest care of Bill. I have been very impressed with Jennifer L. Kent-Briante. She is very thorough, effective and helpful and has opened up a better world of sound for me. I would recommend her to anyone! The first pair of hearing aids are my first set and I am still amazed every time I put them on just how much of a difference she've made for me - well beyond my expectations! I've just been delighted. Not only can i hear speech, TV, movies and ordinary day to day sounds so much better, they are so comfortable that I often forget I have them on. My Dad Sal Eifu is a 90 year old patient at Long Island Hearing...unfortunately at his age we spend a lot of time at medical appointments. I can honestly say that the this office has the most professional and personal staff I have encountered. There have been times when my father's hearing aids have needed repair and he is not up to an office visit. I have brought the hearing aid in for repair without having my dad with me. I can't say enough about how great LI Hearing Center is. I've had hearing aids for both ears for over 20 years. Recently it seems my hearing has gotten worse. I can't participate in normal conversations with out saying: "what?, what?, what?! I was pretty disheartened with my hearing and didn't think there was anything that would help. I have been using hearing aides for over a decade. I once used a simple one. I'm 89 years old and that is how I like things simple! Long Island hearing advised me to upgrade. I was taught how to use my new hearing aide. It seemed to be a bit more complicated than my first hearing aide but they made it so easy to operate They never rushed me they they gave me a special magnet to insert the batteries. They reduced the settings to three to adapt to my life style. After my purchase they continue to service my hearing aide. I have visited this professional hearing loss recovery team for several years. Every person in their clinic is a pleasure to speak with. Very well mannered and professional. although there are other professionals in Long Island I have never felt the need to get a second opinion about any of their recommendations. Dr Christine Kent noticed some changes in my hearing and recommended me to consult an ENT specialist. Her concern was that I may have other problems which could lead to dementia and memory loss in the future. Christine cares!
