I could have lost sight in that eye except for Dr Reisman seeing me right away without an appointment. Dr Reisman is an outstanding, competent, capable and trustworthy physician. Those who wait for a time past their appointment may experience that because Dr. Reisman is helping someone like myself. I had initially gone elsewhere based on an advertisement that I had seen on tv. I was told by this other doctor that I was not a candidate for Lasik and I was very disappointed to hear that because I needed some sort of correction badly. I had gotten home and decided before I give up to get a second opinion. I chose Dr. Benedetto's office at random and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I should also note that I had my heart set on doing the surgery in Ecuador where I have another home and had a trustworthy doctor that could have done it for $1700. However, because the eyes are so vital and doctors in the US follow stricter guidelines, have better equipment, cleaner facilities, and are accountable to their patients, I came to my senses and realized that my eyes are too vital to take a chance with so I came to the realization that even though it cost more than double that amount it was a much smarter choice. So if you're thinking of getting some discount surgery in latin America, you should probably think long and hard on it. Anyways, I explained to them that this other doctor said I was not a good candidate and asked what they thought. They ran a number of tests on me that day and said things look good but that I should come back and do these tests again next week just to confirm. They spent ALOT of time examining me and it was beyond clear that they weren't about to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get some money out of me. I am very confident that they have my best interests at heart and are very honest people. It was at that point that I knew this was the place for me. In regards to the office, it is new, inviting, appealing to the eye, and the staff are very friendly. The Lasik equipment they use, I had come to learn, is the newest technology available and fully bladeless. The surgery was quick and painless. I had a little more discomfort than most people get on the evening of my surgery but in the morning I was as fresh as a daisy. Even though all of the warnings and literature state that many people get a "foreign object sensation" in the eye and frequent dryness or some other symptoms, I did not and still do not experience any of that whatsoever. To wrap it up, I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr. Benedetto and cannot think of a single bad thing to say about these folks.

When I mentioned I only needed eye drops script their response was "you have to go through the routine screening in order to see a doctor". I figured my vision insurance (VSP in network) covers annual screening with a $5 copay (and that includes all the tests) so I went along with it. I have thick cornea which makes my intraocular pressure read slightly elevated (which is normal and very common). Dr Levey said let's do a Glaucoma test, it's gonna come back negative but let's do it. It's covered with my VSP so I agreed. The test was not available the day I was there so I had to come back 2 more times to get tested and then to see Dr Levey again for NEGATIVE results, all together it took 3 visits. End of story I got a bill for $430. They billed my medical insurance instead of vision insurance and now I have to pay the whole amount out of pocket. I agreed to all of it knowing I will owe $5 copay. Billing and office manager ZERO help, they said they don't even have my vision insurance on file, front desk didn't bother to look over my insurance card and note that I have one. As I am now looking at their reviews online other patients had exactly the same problem, this place is fraudulent, I am reporting them to BBB and NJ Health Department.

He had so many great reviews that my husband and I decided to go and meet with him even-though we live one hour away. We felt that with so many amazing reviews, we needed to meet with him and decide for ourselves if this is "our" doctor. Making the decision to have cataract surgery was no easy decision. I thought about long and hard. However, since I found that my vision was increasingly getting worse and everything was getting blurrier, to the point that I couldn't see clearly out of my right eye because when I was watching TV, for example, it was in "double vision". After meeting with him, both my husband and I found him to be very knowledgeable, informative, professional and had a wonderful bed side manner. He diagnosed me to have two cataracts, one in each eye. He scheduled me for both surgeries one month apart starting with the worst eye first. Taking a leap of faith, I decided to have cataract surgery and chose Dr. Medford as my surgeon. I was extremely nervous on the day of surgery, but while the nurse was prepping me, Dr. Medford came in to see me and saw that I was quite anxious. He then went on and reassured me with his kind words telling me that he's performed this procedure many times and to try and relax. The surgery was textbook perfect. When I went in for my follow up visit the next day, he told me that it went very well and gave me further instructions on how to continue taking care of the eye so it heals perfectly. I then saw him again one week later, at which point he evaluated me and recommended that I wait to operate on the other cataract because in his words "it was necessary yet". I really appreciated the honesty and care. I highly recommend Dr. David Medford, not only because he is he an amazing surgeon, a kind person, but a very honest doctor as well. It's a win-win.
