I had initially gone elsewhere based on an advertisement that I had seen on tv. I was told by this other doctor that I was not a candidate for Lasik and I was very disappointed to hear that because I needed some sort of correction badly. I had gotten home and decided before I give up to get a second opinion. I chose Dr. Benedetto's office at random and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I should also note that I had my heart set on doing the surgery in Ecuador where I have another home and had a trustworthy doctor that could have done it for $1700. However, because the eyes are so vital and doctors in the US follow stricter guidelines, have better equipment, cleaner facilities, and are accountable to their patients, I came to my senses and realized that my eyes are too vital to take a chance with so I came to the realization that even though it cost more than double that amount it was a much smarter choice. So if you're thinking of getting some discount surgery in latin America, you should probably think long and hard on it. Anyways, I explained to them that this other doctor said I was not a good candidate and asked what they thought. They ran a number of tests on me that day and said things look good but that I should come back and do these tests again next week just to confirm. They spent ALOT of time examining me and it was beyond clear that they weren't about to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get some money out of me. I am very confident that they have my best interests at heart and are very honest people. It was at that point that I knew this was the place for me. In regards to the office, it is new, inviting, appealing to the eye, and the staff are very friendly. The Lasik equipment they use, I had come to learn, is the newest technology available and fully bladeless. The surgery was quick and painless. I had a little more discomfort than most people get on the evening of my surgery but in the morning I was as fresh as a daisy. Even though all of the warnings and literature state that many people get a "foreign object sensation" in the eye and frequent dryness or some other symptoms, I did not and still do not experience any of that whatsoever. To wrap it up, I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr. Benedetto and cannot think of a single bad thing to say about these folks.

I went to multiple doctors in Florida...and I kept having a reoccurring issue that did not ever seem to heal. Who would think a scratch would last this long? When I came back home to New Jersey, I went to see Dr. Niki for my first time because I was having a "flare up." Turns out...I had reoccurring erosion of my cornea! No other doctor had told me this or even noticed this! She gave me medications that would help with my issue specifically. Then, in February, I scratched the same eye (very severely) with a stem of a flower. I was in such immense pain and could not use my eye at all. My Mom called the office, and honestly, they were not able to get me in, even if it was an emergency. My mom and I were very frustrated, so we went to the Urgent Care Center and then visited Dr. Niki the following day. Dr. Niki was GREAT - again! She and her staff understood the situation and took very good care of me as I was still in an immense amount of pain. I visited the office on a Thursday, and Dr. Niki informed me that she would be away for the weekend, so she gave me her personal phone number and texted me throughout the weekend checking in on my eye. I did have an issue with it on Saturday and even though she was going out of town later that day, she met me at her office to further evaluate it! An infection began to arise so she called my pharmacy directly and directed them as to what eye drops I needed. Overall, even though I was unable to get in on an emergency when we called, that was completely overridden by the fact that Dr. Niki herself came in on her day off to re-examine my eye. The whole experience was pretty traumatic but Dr. Niki kept me at ease the entire time - even up until this point! The office gets you in fairly quickly once you arrive, but I will admit you wait about 45 minutes to see the doctor. It is all worth it as she is VERY knowledgable. Who doesn't wait at a doctor's office?

He had so many great reviews that my husband and I decided to go and meet with him even-though we live one hour away. We felt that with so many amazing reviews, we needed to meet with him and decide for ourselves if this is "our" doctor. Making the decision to have cataract surgery was no easy decision. I thought about long and hard. However, since I found that my vision was increasingly getting worse and everything was getting blurrier, to the point that I couldn't see clearly out of my right eye because when I was watching TV, for example, it was in "double vision". After meeting with him, both my husband and I found him to be very knowledgeable, informative, professional and had a wonderful bed side manner. He diagnosed me to have two cataracts, one in each eye. He scheduled me for both surgeries one month apart starting with the worst eye first. Taking a leap of faith, I decided to have cataract surgery and chose Dr. Medford as my surgeon. I was extremely nervous on the day of surgery, but while the nurse was prepping me, Dr. Medford came in to see me and saw that I was quite anxious. He then went on and reassured me with his kind words telling me that he's performed this procedure many times and to try and relax. The surgery was textbook perfect. When I went in for my follow up visit the next day, he told me that it went very well and gave me further instructions on how to continue taking care of the eye so it heals perfectly. I then saw him again one week later, at which point he evaluated me and recommended that I wait to operate on the other cataract because in his words "it was necessary yet". I really appreciated the honesty and care. I highly recommend Dr. David Medford, not only because he is he an amazing surgeon, a kind person, but a very honest doctor as well. It's a win-win. He prefers patients that are elderly or vulnerable and can easily be taken advantage of so that he can do the least amount for them and charge Medicare and insurance companies a great deal. This is a small hidden place…read more.. By far the most helpful, best doctor I have ever been to. I went dr. Kanoff before, he just did my prescription, and sent me on my way. The contacts he gave me were always horrible. I tried telling him but he would just say my prescription is hard to match. However, this doctor took the time to check the SHAPE of my eyes. She explained the my right eye is different from my left, and prescribed the CORRECT fitting lenses. She's great.
