Hired Josh Kesel with an original deposit of 9,000 then he came back before starting work for another $3500 claiming he needed more for materials! I was jerked around for months to even get work started with his uncertified employees complaining he does not pay them. I did not get any of what I paid for or the materials. His employees claim he does not refund any homeowner he screws over. He was uninsured and broke all aspects of his own contract. Left roof open to the rain and his worker cracked the drywall in both bathrooms upon installing bath fans that took months to get done. They removed insulation in attack after telling me it was wet and never replaced insulation leaving attic bare going into winter. Workers told me it was not wet therefore it can be assumed he lied about it. He agreed to return $7000 and never did instead claiming the check was coming from his accountant. He owes thousands in funds to creditors and has not paid them back. He has a bad reputation. One of his employees slammed his ladder so hard into my kitchen floor damaging wood. I provided pizza and they threw the garbage all over yard. They left one hell of a mess from roof all over propane tanks and porch and damaged gutters from debris from roof work. They left a tarp dangling for months in front if kitchen window. Do not hire this guy! A total fraud! His workers left bath fan crackling with electricity and almost burnt my house down. His workers said he knows nothing about home repairs! He also said he would supervise the job and never did and never showed up again after casing the checks. His other dbas are under: Monroe Pest Management, NY State Mold and Drain and Optimum Roofing and Gutters! His "manager" who was part of the scheme is Tanya Iannello. read more

My review of Advanced Environmental Services is nothing you want to read, phone calls not answered, work dates not kept, no calls to reschedule. When they came they did what they were supposed to do but left me hanging. They would schedule a date and not show up, no communication They always asked for payment up front, which they received. They worked here from May until October and left the job unfinished. They still owe a dehumidifier, which I paid for and never received. They do not answer my calls, I am still waiting. About to come up on the one year anniversary of signing a contract with AE and they have still not completed their work nor have they returned all of my money. To date, they still have over $8K of my money which should be sitting in my savings account earning interest instead of paying their bills. I want to make it clear that the staff who works for them, namely Sal, is wonderful and is a great worker/contractor in his own right. When Sal comes to the property he is professional, courteous, hard working, and very timely. I cannot stress this enough. The two owners of this business, on the other had, have done nothing but disappoint us. So many empty promises, over-promising and under-delivering, 3 bounced checks, recently missed appointment for the last phase of our project, and 3 or more unanswered messages to confirm and then to ask why they didn't show and when to expect our money that has been promised since JANUARY! Josh is such a nice guy and I hate to write this review and update but a business person he is not. I wish him and his wife all the best but could never use them again. read more

Every bad review on this website is accurate. Josh came out for the initial inspection and proposal, then passed the work off to his crew leader Sal Ianello. Sal was excellent. He ran his team efficiently and oversaw a mold remediation and drainage install. Because the mold issue happened in a finished basement, in order for it to be remediated, the entire basement needed to be gutted and then refinished after the remediation was complete. Josh offered to do the post-remediation construction at a relative discount and this is where things went completely sideways. The finished portion of the basement was about 600 square feet, and needed drywall, flooring, and basic electric. Josh used a different crew to handle the construction work. They showed up for maybe an hour or two once or twice a week. Went sometimes more than a week without coming at all. Whenever I communicated this to Josh or Tonya my calls/texts went ignored. We were hit with mostly excuses as to why the work wasn't being done. Whenever we actually had an issue with construction Josh and Toyna would disappear. But when I agreed to prepay for half of the work up front, they showed up at my office within 30 minutes to take payment. The construction crew took over 2 months to complete maybe one quarter of the work. Josh and Tonya ignored my requests for my money back. The work they did complete was sloppy and unprofessional. I had to find another contractor to come in and finish the project off. About 12 months after the mold remediation was done we had mold growth in an area they claimed to have treated. This was covered under warranty, but Josh/Tonya dodged calls and texts to come and retreat the area for free, though the warranty obligates them to do the work. If you are thinking of mold remediation I would recommend using him and staying FAR away from Advanced Environmental. Advanced Environmental are scam artists and should not be used under any circumstances. Ever. read more

In February of 2023 we came home to a flooded basement. We called Advanced Enviromental and Josh came right away. They started clean up and mold remediation rather quickly. Over the next four months they took care of cleanup, mold remediation, demolition, fixed some wall cracks and started some drainage work. Each phase of the job required prepayment. We needed the basement finished and Josh said they could do that. He gave us an estimate for drywall and insulation and again we prepaid. A little work was done and they never came back. First Josh made many promises about when they would be back. Still no one came. We agreed to a settlement number of $8500 of the original $12,908. He sent me a check that bounced. He blamed his accountant for that. He then said he would give me $8600 for my trouble. Nothing. One day out of the blue he calls me and says he will send two certified checks for $4250 each. Then no checks. I continue to encourage him to pay and he eventually blocks my texts. I email him and no response. The work they did was satisfactory, but he still owes me the money. if you have a need for Advanced Enviromental don't give him any money without seeing the work. read more
