I spoke with Mike who apparently takes care of their warranty issues and because the unit was less than 10 years old he agreed to replace it if I paid the shipping. I was hesitant initially as he quoted me $47 to ship, but considered this acceptable as I would be getting a replacement unit. To my surprise, they sent me a used air pump as a replacement and when I contacted them, he told me that they had depreciated the unit for the 4 years that I had owned it, regardless of how much I had used it. He then told me that the unit I had been sent was being used in their rental department without any issues for years so I should be happy with it So they considered sending me a retired rental unit as a replacement and charged me the outrageous shipping cost. If I had wanted a used unit, I could've probably easily found one on Facebook marketplace and been able to examine it before purchase. Because I wasn't pleased he told me I could return the unit, but I would have to pay for the return shipping and then he hung up.

My son recently got on a lacrosse team and he needed to be kitted up.. the whole shebang. Helmet, gloves, shoulder pads.. the works. Anyway, I shop online and his mom goes to every sporting goods store here and the East Bay. Man, lacrosse stuff is hard to find. And expensive. So, after a few days of looking into options, and shopping at other stores, I came across Sling It... and it all changed. They are one of the few dedicated lacrosse stores anywhere around here, and carry a full range of gear for most any level. Since my kid is relatively little, and will be growing, I went with their $199 starter package. It prices out at $50 around $50 less than you can get the stuff for at their store, and around a hundred bucks cheaper than piecing a comparable package together online or at the local sporting goods stores. And the staff are knowledgeable through experience. HTe kid who helped me at first seemed a bit young (which sometimes makes me question their knowledge... even though it shouldn't) but he had answers to all of my questions and was willing to let me bring my kid back in to have everything fitted to him. (His coach was willing to do it, so I won't have to make the drive) Anyway... if you have lacrosse needs, I recommend them for pricing, selection and knowledgeable sales staff....

These gals really run a customer service oriented business…read more I'm in the market for a SUP board and I went down to their San Mateo shop to try out a few boards. Before I went, Rebecca spent a bunch of time on the phone with me going through my board options and welcoming me down for some test rides. Once my friend and I arrived at the shop, we were greeted warmly by Jane who patiently answered all of our questions and set us up with demo boards suited specifically to our ability levels. We only had to pay $27 to rent the boards and paddles which is nothing compared to what the surf shops charge... and we got it all and more... without the annoying dude attitude! On top of all that, we totally lucked out in that one of their instructors, Kips, was in the shop just hanging out and he ended up taking us out for a paddle and giving us a free lesson! he was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, as well. The day after our session I got a follow up email from Rebecca, offering to put together a discounted package for me. The experience exceeded our expectations on every level. I would highly recommend this business to anyone wanting to learn a new board sport or to buy gear.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I won't be…read morereturning. We originally came to Fisherman's Warehouse because of Dave. He is incredibly knowledgeable about tuna fishing, does an outstanding job lining reels, and has always treated us with professionalism and respect. He's the reason we've continued to shop there.Unfortunately, our experience with Eric, the manager, has been the complete opposite. My husband stopped in while he was tired and quiet, yet Eric later commented that he came in "crazy," even though my husband hadn't said a word to anyone. That was both unnecessary and disrespectful. This also wasn't our first negative interaction with Eric. On a previous visit while Dave was lining our reels, Eric repeatedly interrupted to tell Dave to make sure we knew we had to pay for the special line marking. We never questioned the charge and had absolutely no problem paying for it. We appreciate Dave's expertise and know quality work deserves to be paid for. When my husband simply said, "It's okay, Dave takes care of me," referring to the excellent service Dave provides, Eric immediately responded, "We all take care of you." The interaction came across as defensive and left us feeling unwelcome. It's unfortunate because Dave is one of the best resources for tuna fishing and reel setup, but management makes the overall experience unpleasant. We'll be taking our business elsewhere, and that's a shame because we genuinely enjoyed working with Dave.
