We provided a service that was subcontracted and was promised payment from advanced and never received payment. We have been more than patient for over 90 days with this company and they haven't even give us the decency of the owner calling us back their salesman Kevin was extremely unprofessional and lied. I don't typically write reviews here (or elsewhere), but as part of this company's recent marketing campaign I decided to do so. About a year ago, I began looking for a contractor to build a new deck on a home I'd purchased in 2018. I met on site with three, but didn't feel very confident in any of them. I had a connection someone who had recently begun working with this company, and he offered to take a look at the job. You hear a lot of horror stories about construction projects, and as a young lawyer I represented some contractors who had problems with delivering on their promises, as well as property owners who had problems with contractors. So I went into this expecting at least a couple of bumps in the road. And therefore it was somewhat to my surprise that it all went without a hitch from start to finish. The CAD/CAM program they use to show the proposed project and the periodic progress reports was a nice way to communicate with the central office (though they checked in by phone as well, which I hadn't expected). I'd never had to do a construction project like this before myself, and they were great about helping me pick materials (get the Azek - it costs more but it looks great and is low maintenance). The workers who toughed it out through some really brutal hot summer days (there was no shade for them in the afternoon) couldn't have been more professional. They were very respectful of my neighbors (it's a townhouse, with a shared parking lot, and you know how touchy people get about parking) and did everything they could to avoid disrupting their lives. Several of my neighbors later expressed their appreciation about that, as well as their barely disguised jealousy over the final result. But I suppose the main point is that, at the end of construction, I couldn't have been more happy with the finished product. You always expect to pay a little more for high quality, but I have to say it was worth every penny. read more

We recently hired Advanced improvement to do a siding replacement on our house. The product that we selected was a new vinyl product designed to look like weathered shingles. The application process was labor intensive as each shake needed to be applied individually similarly to natural cedar siding. We added a bit of a twist to the situation in that we hired them late spring and informed them that the project would need to be complete with them off site within 6 weeks as we were hosting a wedding on our property in early July. Advanced accepted this challenge and more than exceeded my expectations with their execution. Despite the fact that shipment of the product was delayed at the beginning due to the newness of the product and the fact that the installation process was very labor intensive, they tackled this project with great efficiency, attention to detail, and timeliness. What ever it took to get the time done within the framework I gave them they did including long days and some weekend days. All the while they never lost sight of the quality of their workmanship. The entire staff was courteous, neat and professional throughout. In the end, the project was finished on time and the site was left in pristine condition. All of this done for a fair price. I would recommend Advanced for a similar project without reservation. I hope to have other opportunities to use their services in the near future. read more

We hired Advanced in August to start a bathroom reno in the beginning of October (10/8). They finished it 12/24. Almost three months for a small bathroom renovation... wow... We had to keep calling them to come back & finish stuff up... Rick seemed to think everything was hunky dory, but you can build a HOUSE in 3 months. In fairness to Rick, we think he had too many jobs to supervise at the same time... Advanced needs more than one Foreman to handle a busy contracting business. I think making a bathroom 2 feet wider should have taken a lot less time. If you hire them, keep their phone number handy; you'll need it! Recommended... Not! *note* They did take some money off of the final bill to make amends. Chris was wonderful in keeping us informed & updated on the progress of the final finishing up jobs. He couldn't have been more helpful! read more

Very pricey. Craftsmanship is excellent. Design poor. If you need the work done timely forget it. They want their money but do not answer your messages about completion time. I have had a big box with a sink for my bathroom which they made a mistake in ordering for a month. Can't get any one to remove it or answer my messages. A 5x7 bathroom started April 7th it is June 6th still not done but no one will let us know when it will be completed. No , would never hire again. So much for "we are a little more expensive but professional". read more

Hired Advanced to build our house. They were fantastic. They did virtually all phases of construction and the crews they did quality work and were extremely neat. Every day the house was completely cleaned up. I waited a while to post this because they also gave a 5 yr warranty. Sure enough I called them after 2 yrs because snow was not being able to drain fast enough on a flat roof deck off a bedroom. They came out in terrible weather fixed the problem. They also saw a couple of minor siding fixes and stated they would be back once the weather cleared Sure enough they did. It was a 5 minute job but they needed a 30 ft ladder. All no charge. I cannot say enough good things about them read more

We hired Advanced Improvements LLC to put a new roof on our home and to install new gutters. Today they completed the roof and I am blown away not only with how it looks, but in the professionalism from the crew. The old roof came down in 45 minutes-my husband and I were amazed. The crew picked up everything that came off the roof and we are left with no debris or garbage in our yard. Curbside, the new roof is just beautiful. Throughout the day, the crew was quiet, and courteous of our two very loud dogs. Not once did I hear them yelling and if they hadn't been actually putting on a roof, I wouldn't have even known they were there. We are beyond pleased with the roof, and can't wait for the gutter installation this weekend! read more

Advanced Improvements did a complete remodel on my 65 year old house in New London, Connecticut Nothing had been updated - not even a door knob. They were extremely reliable, came when they said, finished the job on time and with all the changes along the way, managed to stay close enough to the budget. Of course renovation projects are stressful and full of surprises, but Patrick was fantastic in guiding us through the design details, with an eye towards cost and keeping true to the original house. Unfortunately we found that the company is very poorly run....we hired them for a simple update to a small kitchen -- new countertop, new appliances, new tile floor, refinishing a wood floor. We hired them because we were not in town and needed a reliable contractor to oversee the work. It was estimated to be a four to six-week job. Twelve weeks in they were not even close to being done. Almost every step of the way there were mistakes made because there was no one overseeing the job. They ended up having to redo the stone countertop because they decided to change the stove's location without advising us. Their much vaunted website through which you're supposed to watch the daily progress was updated twice in 12 weeks. The efforts of the actual tradesmen was good ...they were just given little or no direction. I cannot recommend this company. read more

I was referred to David and Advanced in 2010 by a friend to install an new roof, siding, and gutters on our home. The job was not without surprises but the Advanced crew handled them without a hitch. I came home from work and they had completed half of the roof on the front of the house but the shingles were not the same color we selected. Apparently they had been mis-marked at the factory. They removed them without question and worked with the company to get the correct color as quickly as possible. Because of our positive experience we have hired Advanced to do a complete kitchen remodel this spring. read more
