Trash and building materials were left inside my home for months. My house was left exposed to the elements for several months (because they started a job not realizing they didn't have the right materials). My basement was flooded due to their negligence causing thousands of dollars worth of damage. Everywhere I turn I find more poor craftsmanship. I would avoid this company at all costs.

I went to Norwich Lumber 15 years ago so I thought that they themselves would be a trusted resource . The Nye Team asked me what the Sq FT of the roof was and judging by my old reciepts from Norwich Lumber they said I would need enough materials to re-shingle a roof that was 22 Sq this is roofing talk :) The Nye team came out looked at my roof never discussing Sq FT and gave me a price of 10K . I am an out of town landlord so I called another company for a second quote . They said 22 SQ not sure who told you that but this roof is 12SQ and we can do the job pull permits clean up for 6K . So then as you can imagine I had two issues . The first was Norwich Lumber charging me for 22SQ 15 years ago and second recommending the Nye brothers to continue the price gouging . We entered into contract with this company in December of 2018 to install a new roof which included…read morea ridge vent (for ventilation). On the day the new roof was installed we arrived home from work after dark to a dumpster filled with old roofing material and on the top of the pile was quite a few empty beer cans and beer boxes, I knew this was a bad sign so I took photos of this. 3 months later the entire roof leaked because they forgot to put the water and ice barrier down. They also did not install the ridge vent (we questioned this via email and the owners response was he couldn't because of the pitch of the roof which is rediculous, you can put a ridge vent on any roof!) Due to the lack of ventilation it caused black mold in the entire attic. They came to fix it by installing the water/ice barrier material that they forgot to put on in march of 2019 but still did not install a ridge vent which is needed to vent air into the attic. I repeatedly voiced my concerns to the owner about the mold and he emailed me that it wasn't mold, just algae and it would dry up. Its now 14 months later (and we now have become very educated on roof ventilation) after several emails back and fourth to the owner and a final phone call to him which he became extremely belligerent, told me it's not his fault and told me to F off and hung up on me. We now have hired a very expensive mold abatement company and also had to pay a new professional roofing contractor to install a ridge vent which was in my contract with JS&R Roofing. Such a nightmare!!!
