    Time for oil change.

AUTO REPAIR!!!!! So stressful to find someone to trust. Well I was referred here by a family member when I moved to AZ two years ago, su STOKED! Dave & Bruce are terrific, I take both vehicles here always for the last 2 years. Dave is super helpful he will always answer your questions & explain in detail if you would like him to. They are always busy so call ahead to make an appointment. My truck is older but paid for & they own Chevys like I do, so they know exactly what they're doing.

Saved us $500 in renting another truck! THAT is Customer Service!

I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.

I called them on a Friday at about 4PM. I asked JOEL if it was better to bring it in tonight or before they opened on a Saturday at 8AM. They said just show up tomorrow and we'll get to it as we can. I was there at 7:50 AM for a drop off. They did not contact me until 3PM on Saturday to say that they haven't fixed the AC yet but they have changed the full synthetic oil ($107 - $15 website coupon) and tested several other fluid with "corrosivity strips." Both the brake fluid ($125) and radiator coolant fluid ($170) tested "bad." I gave approval to move forward. Hey, I'm not a mechanic nor have access to these "magic testing strips." I received a call at 4:30 PM on the same day (Saturday) that the AC had been charged but the compressor is not coming on. It's too late to diagnose so we'll have to keep until Monday. Monday comes and I receive a call at 4PM when they said the AC compressor is dead. $1,284 to replace it. In for a penny, in for a pound. They claim the part is in town and can be received early enough on Tuesday to have it back to me. Tuesday comes and instead of a call saying your truck is done (in time for my Social Distortion concert which I made them aware of) they now say the entire system is "flooded with contaminants" and we'll need to replace the condenser and extension value. Now they have me over a barrel. No additional discounts are mentioned nor offered. I received word the truck was done at 5:45PM and to come pick it up in the next 15 minutes or wait until tomorrow. I took my truck in for AC service and oil change. I leave paying $3,394.16. Was it required? Again, only people with car maintenance knowledge can judge. Will I ever recommend them? Absolutely not. I'm pretty sure that I covered most of their costs to repair my truck over the 4 days they had it. They did not even thank me for my business. Photos of invoice are included here so you can verify my review.

I started to get weird things happening with the lights on dash. Engine light comes on and then go off after a few miles. This happened for a couple of weeks until I finally hooked up the OBD2 sensor on it and it says P0305 and P2314. The truck would run rough when the engine light was on but perfect when it went off. So I bring it down there and the manager hooks up a scanner and says nothing is wrong with it and that the ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors they replaced are all running perfect. This thing continues to happen for another two weeks. On and off. So I park the Jeep for almost two months until a friend can help diagnose it. The friend pulls the manifold off to look at things and sure enough, the cylinder 3 ignition coil bolt is sticking halfway out and was never tightened. Cylinder 5 and Cylinder 6 electrical connectors were never pushed in all the way like they should have been. In fact the little tab on the brand new ignition coils was broken and the connector just pushed on and never secure. So he replaced the cylinder 5 ignition coil and secured all connectors that should have been done by Half Price Auto. So I spent money to have that all fixed when it never should have even happened if they did things correctly. I'll never bring my vehicle back there because they can't be trusted. They should change the name from Half Price Auto to Half-Ass Auto. UPDATE: They called me today to "get clarification" as if the review wasn't clear enough. So, when I explain for them to tighten bolts and make sure connectors are clicked in and most importantly, when you BREAK a clip, you repair it sites of leaving a connector hanging there not secured, he accuses me of yelling (which I never did) and calling names (which I never did). My next question was "what is the purpose of this call?" to which he replied, "to get clarification". He (Jack) then stated that I never gave them a chance to fix this, to which I said "How many chances should I give? Three? Once when the head gasket was changed, once when I went back with this issue that should have never happened and once more after that??? His comprehension skills are lacking and I see more clearly why this sort of thing happens there. Just wow. So again, I'm still out $250 and haven't been able to drive my vehicle for two months because they ARE NOT THOROUGH IN THEIR REPAIRS. Good riddance.

We can't say enough good things about Blackwell Automotive!…read more My husband surprised me with a last-minute trip to Phoenix, but after our flight was delayed by two hours, our vacation got off to a terrible start. We picked up our rental car from the airport, and shortly afterward, we ended up with a blown tire--right as Blackwell Automotive was getting ready to close for the day. We were in a tough spot. The nearby gas stations couldn't help us, and the tire shop across the street had already closed. Seeing that Blackwell Automotive was still open felt like an absolute blessing. Even though it was the end of the day, they took the time to help us without hesitation. Their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile completely turned our evening around. Instead of spending the first night of our vacation stranded and stressed, we were able to get back on the road and enjoy our trip. It's rare to find businesses that genuinely care about helping people the way they did. They didn't just fix a tire--they saved the first day of our vacation, and that's something we'll never forget. Thank you to everyone at Blackwell Automotive. If you're looking for an honest, caring, and dependable shop, this is the place to go. We only wish we lived closer so we could become regular customers! Highly, highly recommended!

I was aware of a few issues to be addressed & wanted to see if they would identify them , quote me for repair cost. Jeff the classic car manager was helpful & upfront about the cost ($195/ hour). Jeff's team identified the issues i was aware of & found a few important items i was not aware of, this made me happy & willing to continue working with Blackwells. Upon pick up, the owner was there, Jeff introduced us (his name escapes me). He was very friendly & appeared passionate about the business. He (owner) walked me through the shop showing me the various vehicles they are currently restoring or repairing. I was very encouraged by this & the proximity to my house is fantastic. I left after advising Jeff of the future modifications & repairs I wanted to pursue, Jeff told me he would get an estimate together & get back to me soon. 2 months later I hadn't heard anything. I stopped by the shop some with Lance since Jeff or the owner were not in the office. After letting Lance know the story & running through my list with him & the tech who worked in the vehicle. Lance apologized for the lack of follow thru, he made no excuse & let me know he would have Jeff contact me as soon as he returned. We are now another month passed & NO communication! I stopped by the shop again to speak with the owner (not in the shop), so I left my number & requested a call. ANOTHER MONTH has passed, NOTHING! I cannot believe a business would be so unprofessional & lacking communication. Seriously disappointed with this business. Good luck if you choose to have them work on your vehicle.
