I called Mark because my gas clothes dryer stopped producing heat, and I thought that it may have been due to a clogged dryer exhaust duct. Mark was able to schedule me for the following morning. After arriving, Mark asked questions about what I was experiencing with the dryer. Because there was no heat at all, the problem was likely the dryer ignitor. But after 10 years in the house, I never had the dryer duct cleaned, so I wanted to start there. With the dryer on and blowing out cool air, he cleaned out the dryer exhaust duct with a spinning brush and shop vac from the exterior side of the house, which pulled out pillows of fluffy lint. Then, in the house crawl space, he pulled off and cleaned the duct elbow and cleaned the duct where it changes direction, going upward from the crawl space into the house. He showed me pictures of the inside of the duct cleaned and free of lint. The dryer still wasn't producing heat. He proceeded with checking the dryer. He carefully opened the dryer and removed the drum, explaining step by step what he was looking for. The blower duct inside the dryer was almost completely blocked with solidified chunks of lint, and the bottom of the dryer inside was covered with lint. Mark said that based on what he saw, he was pretty confident that it was a faulty ignitor and asked if I wanted to proceed with the appliance repair, providing an estimated cost. Weighing the alternative of buying a new dryer, I wanted to proceed. After cleaning out the blocked blower duct and the inside the dryer, he felt around for the ignitor and pressed a fuse button. After reassembling the dryer 75%, he started the dryer and waited for heat. After about 10 seconds, the familiar sound of ignition and viola heat. Since Mark both cleans dryer ducts and can repair dryers, he saved me from having to call a separate appliance repairer. Throughout the entire service trip, Mark was careful and tidy, cleaning up the messy lint inside and out, and explaining the work throughout. I now have a clean dryer duct and functioning dryer. We had our dryer ducts serviced and cleaned out by Mark and wow, what amazing service! From the initial phone call to completing service, he was always professional, kind, attentive, calm, knowledgeable and he explained everything. After he arrived he inspected the ducts, took photos and videos then showed me what he found so I could see the extent of lint build up. We recently moved into a new house and discovered that the dryer was barely drying! I saw build up on the outside vent and figured a good cleaning was just what we needed. I sent Mark a message on Yelp on a Monday evening and he replied within 10 minutes. We messaged back and forth for a few, and then he gave me a call (around 8pm on a Monday) to ask some additional questions and give me a quote on the phone. Wish I could give zero stars! Mark failed to keep his appointment time, I advised him I was displeased that he was late. At this time, Mark lost control of his emotions and during a 10+minute lecture he said he wasn't coming because he "wasn't comfortable". These guys did not know what they were doing. We hired them to clean our ducts and cap off one duct before we turned on the furnace for the winter. The whole point of cleaning is so that when the furnace gets turned on for the first time, it will not blow dirt and dust everywhere. I was very specific about needing one duct capped off so it didn't blow into a room that had construction debris in it. Instead of cleaning first and capping the duct, they "tested the system" first which basically means turning on the furnace and blowing dirty air into our house. Mark didn't acknowledge he'd made a mistake so I think he just didn't know any better? I was mad/scared that debris was getting blown around, ran in to turn the furnace off, and said the F word. He took offense to the F word, left without doing the job. The other guy wore his "Covid mask" under his nose. Under the nose mask is like no mask at all. I would not use this company again.
