I didn't get an alert from my monitoring app. I have had my solar system since the 2018 install. When I called PNM, I was told that they wouldn't help since I owned my own system. Their advice, turn off my air conditioning to lower my power bill. Thats great advice when it's over 100* outside. FU PNM rep. I reached out to 4 different solar companies but couldn't get anyone to follow thru. I finally reached #1 Plumbing. I was able to get an appointment when the tech actually showed up and get an estimate on what it would cost to replace my inverter. The techs showed up when they said that would, fixed my inverter and helped me with the app. I am so grateful that this is done. Plus they were great to work with. Very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend them if you have any issues with your solar system. I'm already planning on having them come back to clean out my dryer vents.

I felt like they were inappropriate, so I called #1 to review the "other" companies work. They were able to point out the flaws that would block my new heat pump from being green-tagged. They pointed out the green tag was missing. They didn't charge me. So, I called them again a few months later because they proved themselves to be honest people. They came in, took care of my seasonal tuning and a toilet that was not flushing. I think I've found my trusted plumbers, and that's a hard thing to do! 10/10 recommend!

JP Plumbery - Air handler not installed square onto output duct

Our heater was 20+ years old and we've been wanting to switch from a swamp cooler to refrigerated air for some time now. We decided to pull the trigger and did a full replacement of both units. They were extremely competitive when it came to pricing, another company was going to be significantly more expensive when we were just looking at the heater repair/replacement. Cody and Dylan were the two service techs that replaced the units and were great to work with. The first day they arrived they were very thorough in explaining the process and what to expect over the coming days. I didn't feel the need to check in with them because they would check in with me when they arrived every day and throughout so they could update me on the progress they were making. With the change in weather I've used both the AC and heating unit in the last couple of weeks and both are working great! I would recommend JP Plumbery to anyone in need of their services! Joe

This is about work done by JP Plumery in October 2024 (before their partnership with Signature…read moreHeating and Cooling). I had them install a new Carrier heat pump ($18K+) to replace a broken evaporative cooler/ancient furnace. The furnace was located in a second-floor closet, so that's where they installed the air handler (and coil), both installed vertically. Unbeknownst to me, a city permit was required for this work, which was NOT obtained by JP Plumery. Had a permit been obtained along with the city inspection, NONE of these problems would have occurred. 1. They did not correct the air intake to handle a 4-ton heat pump (which they oversized - my house is only 1800 sq ft). They claimed a 20"x20" intake was completely fine for this system. Nope. It required a minimum of 1680 cfm air flow; a 20"x20" only provided 840 CFM. 2. The condensate drain they installed was completely incorrect - it had a long horizontal pipe immediately after the handler drain instead of a 5" long P trap to prevent the negative pressure from the air handler from sucking condensate back into the air handler (see photo with accompanying condensate inside the air handler). 3. The air handler was not installed 'square' onto the ductwork supplying the house (see photo). 4. They did not install an automatic shut-off required by city code to turn the unit off if the condensate pump pan overflowed and water backed up into the air handler. This caused flooding in the second-floor closet that leaked into the first-floor ceiling. Once this leak occurred in late July 2026 (and it had been going on for a while, just not noticed because it hadn't leaked through the ceiling yet), I called JP only to be connected to Signature Heating and Cooling. The air handler was full of water. The tech diagnosed inadequate air intake or a potential refrigerant leak causing the problem (the air was plenty cold coming out of the registers). When I asked why JP did not install the correct air intake, all I got was crickets. So I contacted the BBB and all of a sudden, they want to come out and 'take another look.' Same tech came out and denied that inadequate air intake was the problem and instead added more refrigerant, which made the condensation worse. For both of these visits, I was not given any objective measurements or photos taken by them. So I had two other HVAC companies come out to see what was going on. Both diagnosed the problem as an inadequate air intake and an improperly installed condensate drain with no automatic shut-off. I had both problems corrected and, what do you know, the problem was solved. All this during our 100-degree heat in August 2026. I went back to Signature Heating and Cooling/JP Plumery for reimbursement for the work I had to have done to correct their mistakes. All they have done is deny deny deny and will not take accountability for their mistakes. Now I have to have the city come out (at my additional expense) to retroactively issue a permit. The BBB was absolutely no help, so I've contacted the CID for New Mexico and will write reviews where-ever I can to warn you all about these merged companies. DO NOT do business with them. See my other reviews for who I recommend. JP can reply to this all he wants, but he knows what was done. It's funny, all they had to do was reimburse me $2500. Now I have a file a claim in court.

A little background: In the winter of 2024, our heating and cooling unit failed. Another company (I'll be merciful and leave them unnamed), working through an American Home Shield claim, replaced it with a drastically undersized unit that couldn't adequately heat our home. We cut ties with that company and hired B. Carlson to get the job done right. Fast-forward 34 months. When the remnants of Hurricane Polo rolled through, we discovered water collecting in the ductwork supplying our registers. For less than $70, B. Carlson sent out a two-person team that spent two hours working in the rain, investigating the problem and applying a moisture seal to the underside of the duct near the leaking register. Two weeks later, I discovered the actual culprit: a hole in the connector sleeve farther up the line, between the HVAC unit and the supply duct. Marciano came out, inspected everything, identified the problem, and patched the leak with mastic in less than ten minutes. Then he left without charging us a dime--even though we were well beyond the one-year workmanship warranty. That's what customer service looks like. My advice? Don't waste your time shopping around. B. Carlson AC, Heat & Plumbing is the company I'd recommend to anyone in Albuquerque or Rio Rancho. And if you can, ask for Marciano. He's exactly the kind of professional you hope to find but rarely do.

The toilet that was removed was also left in the bathtub containing the sludge and muddy water. Mud splashes were left on the wall. One of the crew members was continuously on his phone asking for advice and help when they couldn't find the leak. I told one of them that it was not professional to vape while on duty. He replied, " yeh, I know but it's a habit." I had to remind the crew (2 guys) to put plastic or tarp down on my floors as they were taking smelly sludge in a wheelbarrow through my house and finally outdoors. About 1 ft of my nice white fabric curtains were left in the muddy water in the bathtub. I mentioned that to Jonathan (owner /manager) of American Leak Detectors) and he just picked the curtains up out of the sludge water and responded with "They should not have left these here." The bath tub would not drain afterwards so we had to call a plumber to remedy the problem they caused. Finally, I was able to make contact with Jonathan via phone and spoke at length about the entire unprofessional experience we encountered with his company. He really didn't show much concern even when I said I have lots of photos, plumbing bill, and receipt for new curtains since the cleaners were unable to clean the original ones. He responded with" Where else were my guys supposed to dump the muddy water." How were they supposed to know you had a slowing draining bath tub?" I replied, "The foot of sledge and muddy water should NOT have been dumped in the bath tub regardless of a slow draining tub." Our hope was that Jonathan would handle our negative experience professionally. AN EXPENSIVE NIGHTMARE!
