Tim gave me a price of $150 over the phone to weld in a muffler (which I already own) on a 1971 Camaro. Tim has worked on this car before, and last time he welded in the muffler it was $50. When I got to the shop, the office lady and counter guy told me that the cost would be at least $250, but probably quite a bit more. The counter guy also told me that I would "need to leave the Camaro for at least 2 to 3 days, but don't worry, we won't take it out and race it or anything". What an odd statement to make to a customer!! There were no cars on their racks, and no other customers in the store. When I asked why they needed to keep the car for days to do a one hour job, the counter guy (Temo?) said that "every muffler shop in town keeps the cars at least 3 days" and then he started naming other shops. If you like bait and switch pricing and the risk of leaving your expensive muscle car for days with guys that promise not to race it, this is the shop for you. The first time I use their service, they did it in a short efficient time frame at a very reasonable price and I was able to pass my smog test, which made me very happy. Since that time I purchased another used vehicle that failed it smog test and I spoke to the representative there, Bianka and she gave me a price which was again very fair so they scheduled a time to install it, and did it very quickly in an efficient manner. I wouldn't recommend this place, I talked to the tech Tim had I asked him how much to weld on a muffler he had quoted me 129 over the phone on Thursday evening, I asked him when I could bring it in he said was available that Thursday evening or tomorrow which was Friday morning, I asked at what time they opened he said at 8am I said great I will drop off my daughters and head over there I got there at 8:10am there were no cars there, I asked for Tim showed him the muffler then went about saying that it was going to be a lot of work and had to do a y pipe for the new exhaust then came up to 260 dollars after he quoted me 129, even then I said ok fine 260 he said he had appointments and was busy till 10am, tone completely changed from one day to another either he didn't want to do the work or he saw my law enforcement sticker on my truck and decided to mess with me, regardless I would never do business here, a couple of months back had a muffler installed at dicks muffler off San Jacinto with a Y pipe for 120, much better service and didn't make up any excuses or want to overcharge, shady employee or business. read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could, I've brought in 5 cars in the last year to get work done and have always had 0 problems and the best service until recently last week I went in to get exaust work done to my car and they have new workers that have no idea what there doing and talking you up to the most expensive thing! Was lied to until he convinced me that it was the best thing out, straight up BS and went back the next day and he did not even try to talk! I purchased a used van, and was told it had a new cat. The van failed a smog because the shop could not read the numbers on the cat. Old owner informed me that it was done at Advanced, so i went down and told them my problem. Informed them i had bought the van, but old owner did not have the receipt. They remembered the van, put it on a lift, verified it was hard to read unless on a lift. The cut it out and turned it so it could be read. all this while i waited. best part... no charge. I was given a diagnostic at a smog shop for a new catalytic converter and O2 sensor because my truck was running too rich on fuel. I then came to Advance Muffler to have my catalytic converter replaced. I was told I did not need a catalytic converter or O2 sensor. They could have lied to me and taking my money but they didn't. I had bought what was supposed to be a direct fit catalytic converter for my car at AutoZone for $400. Turns out you still have to weld half of it in, so I came to Advance Muffler to see how much an install would be. Turns out parts and labor were going to be less than I paid for the AutoZone part. 10 minutes later they had it installed and I was on my way. I returned the original part and saved about $120. Owner checked it from one end to the other and showed Me how clean everything looked and nothing was wrong, and no charge. WELL worth my drive from Palm Desert to Hemet. Brought my truck here for new cats and was quoted a price only to comeback and find out the "state" raised prices two months in a row so for 1 cat was going to be over $420.. OH AND THEY KEEP YOUR OLD CAT OR THEY CHARGE A $200 CORE CHARGE.. EVEN IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN. Went to the only other muffler shop in town and I paid about $100 less. I called about my 91 Toyota pickup a few days ago .. A shop in menifee quoted me $550 to replace catalytic converter and an O2 sensor to pass smog. Bought sensor for 60 at Auto Zone called Advanced Muffler and told me they had the one I needed and could install same day . They charged me $190 installed , and I gladly paid a lil more for labor on installing O2 sensor . Good honest service read more

Took my newly purchased 67 Mustang in due to excessive vibration at higher rpm. They determined the system was installed with nearly solid mounts. Ordered and installed new "hangers" and an "H" pipe. Only took about an hour. Problem greatly improved. Very reasonable price! Highly recommended. read more

The OEM Catalytic Converter on my 2000 Dodge P/U was replaced on 04/28/2011 after failing a smog test in which the converter was determined to be faulty by the smog testing technician. Upon recommendation of testing technician I had Advance Muffler Lic#AH235006 in Hemet, CA replace the catalytic converter. When my vehicle was tested again it still failed for the same reason it had prior to the replacement of the converter. After additional testing the O2 sensor was at fault. In total I was out about $400 to pass the smog test. On 04/19/2013 I took the same vehicle to a "test only" smog inspection station. Once again the vehicle failed to pass the smog test due to a faulty catalytic converter. The technician also advised me that the converter approval by the State of California had been rescinded. After locating the necessary paperwork I returned to Advance Muffler to have the catalytic converter replaced under the 5 year or 50,000 mile warranty which included parts and labor. I had less than 12,000 miles driven during a two year period. I could not believe the response I received from the female working the front counter. Before I had even showed her my paperwork or anyone even looking at my vehicle she started telling me that they would not replace the catalytic converter under warranty. Her first reason for the catalytic converter failure had to be something I had done to destroy it, "Since it was working ok when they installed or it would not have passed the smog test". I tried to explain to her that was the reason things had a warranty on them in case the item quit working before it normally would. Then she started on other things I must have done or not done to cause the catalytic converter to fail. After several minutes of why they would not replace the parts under warranty, I asked shouldn't they at least look at part before deciding that it was all my fault the part failed. They put my truck on a lift in order to see the part in question. After about a minute she came back and stated " We can't replace that under warranty, I don't know what you did but, it's all burned up and melted". I asked her to show me the problem after examining the catalytic converter I told her it looked like it normally would after 2 years. I then asked her why she was giving me such a hard time especially since the warranty states the company would cover the full replacement cost including parts and labor. She then tells me that only the owner could make that decision and he would be gone until 04/29/2013. I called the shop on that date to make sure the owner was there before driving there. I had thought that now I would get some intelligent answers to the problem however, this was not to be. I received the same responses as I had from the female. I asked him the same question about warranty as I had the female. He asked me where had I got the information about them covering the parts and labor and I told him on the paperwork he had given me. I drove to the shop and after much discussion he still refused to replace the catalytic converter. read more

i was visiting from out of town and had a random thought...lets go get some exhaust for my Audi A4 Avant! aftr looking up on my phone i saw Advance Muffler and called full expecting to be told "its friday and we are booked , call back another time please". I swear, within 12 minutes of me making that call my car was up in the air on racks and i had like a Cat back with resonator delete and a sick Magnaflow muffler!! And i was certainly not the only car there! they were busy but yet were killin it time wise and just bustin out some quality exhaust!!! No crap! The guy who recommended what i get was super cool and the nice woman in the office named Bianca was so nice when i called she not only gave me directions but stayed on the phone with me untli i saw the shop! Needed a catalytic converter for my car and several garages said they didn't exist for a 1995 Ford Taurus. The Ford dealership said they found one but it was in Conneticut but wouild cost $2500. My car is only worth a $1000 so that was not an option. The parts guy at the Ford Dealership recommended Advanced Muffler in Hemet. I also heard several other people recommend them. I dropped it off at 8:05 and it was done in 1 hour and they had the parts in stock. the total cost was (for two catalytic converters) was $396.00!!
